Das Rock Hard Festival ist eines der wichtigsten Metal-Happenings in der Republik. Pfingsten 2017 waren auch die Blues Pills im Gelsenkirchener Amphitheater dabei!
Harter Bluesrock aus Schweden mit Soul-Stimme. Das Quartett Blues Pills kreirt eine Rock’n’Roll-Atmosphäre, die direkt zu ihren musikalischen Ahnen führt: die frühen Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin und Cactus.
Kaum zu glauben, dass es sich bei diesen im schwedischen Örebro wohnenden Zeitreisenden um recht junge Leute handelt. Die Stimme von Sängerin Elin Larsson wird häufig mit Aretha Franklin oder Janis Joplin verglichen. Gemeinsam mit Bassist Zack Anderson schreibt sie die meisten Band-Texte. Es geht um große Themen wie der Suche nach der Seele, den Sinn des Lebens, aber auch um Familie und Freunde. Blues Pills wirken authentisch und bewahren sich neben ihrer Liebe zu allem, was in den späten Sechzigern in San Francisco Rang und Namen hatte, eine eigene Identität.

I've watched this about 20 times now, what a killer show! Elin is relentless, and definitely larger than life. I've seen a lot of great shows over my almost seven decades, and I'm rating this one way up on my list of top live concert vids. Most excellent!
...sehe ich ebenso. Bin 66 und freue mich über diese Band. Schade das der Gitarrist Dorian Sorriaux nicht mehr dabei ist. Er machte neben der Sängerin den gewaltigen Unterschied zu anderen (Hard-)Rock Bands.

Really love the reto vibe, especially musically but visually, such a great look. Elin is amazing on so many levels but is totally in control here. The perfect front woman in front of the best retro influenced band I have seen for ages, serious chops!
Brilliant band, raw 70s sound, absolutely superb live! I have been lucky enough to have seen them twice in Glasgow.... highly recommended.

Ok, that's cool. Here is the hater's take on this band:
They stole the BellRays' set. The singer is nowhere near as good as Lisa Kekaula. I get it, southern fried rhythm and blues with a rock and roll twist. The guitar player is good, but I want to strangle him with his wah wah pedal cords. Lay off the fucking wah pedsl a bit, fer chrissake. The singer needs a major record deal so she can sing her stupid country rock watered down crap for the masses, that's what she really wants to do. I'm not impressed.

I saw this band's very first performance in Ames, IA. Super killer show, Elin was jawdropping on-stage and exceedingly pleasant off-stage. And Zach the bassist was my cooking partner in high school!

There are dozens of bands like this, just none of them get played on the radio - or actually sell any records. You tube gives you a false idea of how successful they are, nobody under 30 has any idea who they are. They are great by the way, just don't assume theres any kind of rock revival happening.
Oh but there is a revival happening in Rock and Roll and in Blues too there’s some Country throwbacks out there.Though I’m no Hater but most other Genres seem like their all blended with Hip Hop I think because of the Internet Music is not controlled completely by the Big labels and their agenda driven Producers . Music Artists are able to get plenty of exposure without Them because of CZcams and Spotify and a few other Music Platforms I just paid $20 to a distributor for a years worth of unlimited uploads across three major platforms hey are monetized and even split the money for the Artists and their Mates believe Me there are plenty of Artists that are doing well and it’s only going to get better

Even though she's not in tune when singing the high notes this is by far my favorite show of them. The energy, the performance and the pace is absolutely perfect 💜💜💜
