The hotel is a copy of the classicistic castle "Franconville aux Bois" at Saint-Martin-du-Tertre in Val d'Oise north of Paris, France. A former sanatorium.

this is based on a old story called maby you will remembe its about a girl named rosemary gibs her and her mom checked into a hotel and her mom becomes sick and the hotel docter has rosemary go to his house for some worthless medisine and while she's gone her mom dies and the hotel people change the room and act as if she was in the wrong hotel
