You know if a fight is this close I know a lot of people don't like it but it's a tie. If it's this hard to find a winner then no one won.
Should be a thing but rarely is with the way fights are scored with the 10 point must system
But give them at least 30% of the win bonus to each
Nah that's trash lmao. Allen won.
I wish draws were given more frequently. 10-10s should be more common, as should 10-8 to separate clear from close rounds. 10-7 should be utter domination rounds
Nonsense. In the vast majority of close fights, it's only difficult to objectively pick a winner after watching it live. Once you're able to go back and rewatch the fight with an analytical eye, it's much easier to establish who actually won the fight. If anything, this may take a bit of weight off the judges who have to make these difficult calls on the spot... but it certainly doesn't provide any incentive to start scoring a bunch of draws. While there are some exceptions where it could be considered appropriate to score a fight a draw, it's a pretty rare occurrence.
11:08 “We can see Curtis Blaydes landed more strikes” lol
Chris Curtis Blaydes
I do it all the time 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
😂 I didn’t even realise when watching, had to rewind, lol .
I always think they r the same person 😂
Very racist😂
Blades clearly won this.
Aspinall looked pretty good though 🤷♂️
😂😂😂😂@@bobjenks8642
Who?
Lol
Oh shit he did accidentally call him blades at the end 🤣
I think Allen needs to take the Vettori test. Even if you agree that he won, he didn’t really show he’s #1 contender worthy at all. He almost got beat by a game but older Chris Curtis short notice.
It was short notice for allen too lol
@@Dwood777 Chris is a former welter weight too
Vettori is below Allen, let him go forward
I think Chris Curtis is better than Vettori
@@jonnybro7676 agreed
Fighting out of submissions is the most exhausting thing in MMA, props to Curtis for taking the fight on short notice too. Action mans stock went up tonight no matter what tha result.
allen took curtis on short notice too? he trained his entire camp to fight a specific fighter and that fighter cancelled last minute...
@@terrycruise-zd5tw but he was in training camp and curtis was not
@@jaingarvit2621 does curtis not spar everyday with strickland lol plus he looked in shape
@@jaingarvit2621Chris and Sean are always prepared, thats why they can jump in on short notice or without a long time off and still look good anyways. They very basically both in shape, just one guy trained for a different opponent, and Chris Curtis trained for no specific opponent. Pretty even in my eyes, but having a camp is of course a little bit better, since you focus on getting as sharp ss possible, while Chris probably just did train for fun and staying somewhat in shape
I really hope so I am a firm action man supporter after this
Calling out DDP after a split decision (rematch) win to the #14 ranked guy, is the dumbest thing I’ve heard.
He also called out Strickland. Allen also took that fight on short notice, so gameplans matter.
Dude yeah I was like wtf? Lol
It's that low fight IQ?
It's that considered a sign of low fight IQ?
Diamond Dallas Page doesn’t fight in the UFC
Chris Curtis gave that fight away. Refusing to punch the hell out of him every time he stuffed a takedown or reversed a position and just stood up. I was screaming at my tv
Dude lost his balls. Same with his last fight. Dude is a softie now
Okay calling a vet in the UFC a fucking softee lol I'd like to see you make it into the UFC and fight the toughest dudes in the world. Let alone take a flush body kick or a calf kick and punches to the face for 5 rounds. ffs man @@spikeboy101

Honestly that's an easy name to mix up be real
That juicy Blaydes TKO over Almeida is still fresh in my mind 😅
Great example of why scoring MMA is so hard: by the 'opponent reaction' criterion you described, O'Malley's knee to Chito's face was a light strike 😆 it seemed like every split decision tonight was super competitive and actually worthy of being a split decision, and yet every time there was one judge who watched the fight through the haze of his own bong cloud and scored a sweep for one of the fighters.
Well written
I think the biggest mistake curtis made was letting Brendan up with very little time left in the fifth round.
Yeah he is too stubborn with this, capitalize from top position it means a lot on the cards
@@WRNWRWhad nothing to do with being stubborn. 9 times out of 10 standing up is the smart move for him. Only in that one instance should he have probably stayed on top to finish the round strong
When they said 49-46 I thought for sure Curtis had it. No way Allen won 4 rounds
Imagine TheWeasel mixing names of Chris Curtus with Curtis Blaydes during the whole video instead at the end.hahahahaha
I was watching my daughter at the time but everytime I looked up it was Chris Curtis giving him the noggon flogging.
You still gave it more attention than some judges
Not one submission attempt came close allen layed on his back and shot for weak take downs in 5th didnt fight like a man
Imma sound dumb but I feel like you should loose points in the scoring if you are literally pulling guard multiple times out of desperation.
allen landed the only big shots in the fifth
stop coping lol
"Didn't fight like a man" said every guy that lost money on a fight ever
Morgan Charriere vs cheap mariscal warrents who really won too in my opinion
Chepe for sure won
No way the stats for that fight are accurate
Charriere definitely should have won, bad judging
@@nathan2683How?
@nathan2683 I'm glad you're not a judge, very clear Chepe won 1st and 3rd, pick a new sport to watch, you don't understand this one
Keep up the good work!
Chris Curtis won that fight. Watch that punch that cracked allens eye. And he faked an eye poke. Allen was diving for the legs and holding on for dear life. Curtis landed much harder shots
Love your breakdowns, I learn a lot from them. Thank you!
This is why i like this channel. Unbiased and thorough breakdowns
I’m so happy it’s been so long since one of these
i think its weird to base strike dmg of a reaction of opponent, because then sean o'malley knee on chito can be considered a light strike, it just whiped his head back, but he wasnt hurt and then if chito would have landed a jab that would stumble sean a little bit round would be scored for chito? when everyone knows that knee had 10x power and dmg behind it, i just dont understand that
the exact moment i thought of when he said that
Chito's head whiplashed and he stumbled back from the blow, so that was a clear heavy strike. Even someone as tough and durable as Chito couldn't hide he got hurt for a moment.
@@TheWeasleMMA what about vitori getting head kickd by costa? i dont remember big reaction there also.... it just seems like ruling is rewarding people for good chin thus encouraging relying on it what imo is not healthy for fighters
@@BearMinozaXeratito Because the scoring directs toward potential finishes, a good chin is going to be a major factor for damage. If a fighter has a good chin and a poker face, they will benefit from the rules.
@@TheWeasleMMA Ye i understand thats how the rules are written. Just imo the rules should not encourage using chin as deffense the same way like ufc gloves should not promote open hand position for eye pokes
Been saying Allen clearly won, fans call robbery on every single close fight it’s annoying af. Thanks for confirming
You have henry as ur pfp. ur opinion doesn't matter
@@magicM526 it’s out of satire calm down lil bro
So we’re at the point where people are calling every fight a robbery 🤦♂️
It's getting so subjective lately. Like the Democrat / Republicans polarity. Feelings vs fact.
You need to cover the Chepe vs Morgan fight... that one was crazy
My man Weasle with the CTE calling him Curtis Blaydes at the end 😂
Pt.3 please and thank you.
Weasle is the only person I know doing these types of videos. What a legend!
You called him Curtis Blades once 😂😂😂
Allen did too much hugging and too much pointing and taunting after a big hit
Hey Weasel. As a fan from the very first video of yours with Ronda, just wanted to say you are awesome.
Weasle doing Curtis dirty with that first pic with Allen on his back😅
These kinds of breakdowns are the biggest reason I watch TheWeasle
Great Fight by both Warriors, they were extremely cordial, professional and respectful.
Although Curtis took the Fight on short notice, Allen showed a varied offense and the sub attempts were probably the cause of the hamstring injury.
I know defense is its own reward according to the Weseale but the way Curtis got out from getting his back takes was unbelievable.
Salute to both Warriors, 👊🏾🦁🦁🇳🇬🇺🇸
The stretch and the knee bar probably contributed to the hammy tear
CURTIS BLAYDES MENTIONED🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
💀
Hi Weasle. Love your analysis of fights!
Would it not be possible to include "effective grappling" to the screen?
Here's the thing. The greatest damage of the fight was when Curtis popped his hammy while Allen was wrestling him in the final seconds. It was clear if the round had like another 60 seconds left the fight would have been stopped. And it happens because Allen was wrestling again. So Allen gets the point for the round. I don't make the rules.
All the judges do is speculate. Ask Sal D'Amato and Adelaide Byrd 😅
D'Amato has certainly made some piss poor calls but Adelaide Byrd is absolutely f*cking insufferable. I'm convinced she doesn't even watch the fights she's tasked with judging. I'm so sick of seeing her score 30-27s for fighters on the losing end of a "split decision" in fights that weren't even remotely controversial. She did it again tonight. She needs to be fired and/or retire immediately.
@@Strype13 .Also Adelaide Byrd has had her share of disgraceful scoring in boxing bouts. Same for judge Glenn Feldman.
I thought Curtis won.
What, you want an award?
@@mo__2808 no do you?
Well you thought wrong
@@Undefeated0-0I would.
@@Undefeated0-0you gotta change your name now big dawg
Nice breakdown. You called Chris Curtis “Curtis Blades” near the end of your video.
Allen definitely won the fight
Not used to ads like on a who really won break down shit messed up the whole vibe 😂
Blades was robbed especially by the one judge should be fired .
If you can you should drop the pod after the fight with these post fight videos attached! Just a suggestion I watch either way
Honestly run it back for the trilogy and Curt on full camp, I think it was a draw
The fact that “taking someone down” means nothing in mma scoring in 2024 is really really stupid. How does that not count for anything?
Allen didn't land a single hard strike the entire fight. Not one of his submission attempts was ever close to doing something. Curtis outboxed him every round. Curtis won 2,3,4, and honestly, 5. Why doesn't he get points for getting out of countless body triangles? As a striker he completely negated Allen's grappling and won the majority of the exchanges on the feet.
I think the way you break down these fights works, but you have to do it for each round in order for it to work completely, not just round 5. Curtis did more damage in the earlier rounds too I feel like.
I agree
Injury matters regardless of intent, most significant thing by far in the round, seconds more and the fight would have been stopped. I even had Curtis up R5 until the injury, it sucks but if one fighter falls apart it's still a W for the enduring fighter.
That impact definition is detailed but so subjective
Its a shame. Curtis is such a good dude and being a fighter it's got to be devastating loosing due 2 an injury sustained in the fight!!
We need to modify the point system so that draws are more common.
Thanks, Weasle! I thought Curtis won😢
I wish the screen totals were labeled as red and blue. I lost track of who is who in points on the screen

Wake up babe, the Weasel posted a video.
“A knee could be a light strike” **Chito Vera enters chat**
"Hello Police, I'd like to report a robbery "...
Like I know allen improved alot since there 1st fight but I think Curtis improved alot as well enough for him to be a just a tiny better than allen
Also didn't know this was a video about blades!😮😂😅
Amazing step by step
Today theres still a real problem with judging, something needs to change.
That running flying knee saved allen from losing the 5th round
Told y'all I thought it was close but so many people just ignored all the work Allen did on the feet in round 5. Did he fight a dumb fight and make it more difficult than it should've been? yes. But he still edged the decision win.
One thing I think made the masses see this as a robbery was Allen slumped on the ground face first once a minute after a failed takedown in 5, that never looks good.
Since when did you start saying
" y'all " ?
Yup
Yeah and people have to remember that a fighter stuffing takedowns doesn't score for them.
yall is cringe for you to say
@@snarfjohnson2262 isnt it just "you all" but shortened?
Arnold Allen clearly beat Curtis Blaydes
It seemed like Brendan was hugging and being nice to Curtis so he wouldn’t open up with his striking and it may have worked. I can understand Curtis pacing himself for 5 rounds but it seemed like he had the power to end it if he chose.
That’s exactly what I thought!
That would never happen at this level lol. Curtis does that in every fight…even more so in his last one with Marc…people were asking why he wasn’t opening up more and finishing Marc that whole fight because he was the better boxer. Honestly I never saw that from Curtis in this fight tho..whenever Curtis started to open up and go for a finish he’d get cracked really hard and then retreat. I remember one instance when Curtis started to open up and Brendan cracked him with an elbow right on the chin. Curtis has an impeccable chin but Brendan landed shots throughout the fight that would’ve dropped a lot of fighters.
curtis couldn’t open up because he would get taken down in an instant. had nothing to do with “being nice “
On paper a fight between Arnold Allen and Curtis Blaydes doesn't seem that interesting but this was great.
11:43 "Very unfortunate for Curtis Curtis to get hurt like that" Haha something about Chris Curtis name seems to trip up the Weasle.
I blame Belal Muhammad for these wild judges scores too all fights today!

I didn't know Curtis Blayedes was fighting that night, why did nobody tell me?
The injury was probably from that submition attempt, just delayed. So it was Allen trying technically (?)
That should be obvious to everyone. It's not a coincidence that sub was on the same exact leg that got torn.
@@dylan104 yup.
Allen is a good 6-10 fighter but he isn't the champ in waiting that he thinks he is. He'll lose to the elite of the division over 5 rounds, fighters with better fight IQ than Chris, more activity & pop, who can G&P, etc, all the ways in which Chris dropped tte ball.
I'm a big Chris Curtis fan. He's always been fun to watch, and he's a really cool guy too. It was a close fight. I hope The Action Man heals up quickly. Congrats to Brenden Allen.
Man’s uploading these videos at 1AM, Bro’s work ethic is off the charts
Knees to the head of a grounded opponent is necessary!!!!!!!!! Curtis couldnt punish those failed takedown attempts while allen is just dangling his fucking head in the most dangerous positon for knees
I thought the same thing!! Allen 1st curtis 2 and 3, Allen 4th for sure and then 5th was the tiebreaker and i thought curtis had him, based on damage, especially on the ground, but Allen was wayy busier throwing a lot more jabs and Curtis was more patient so for that, i could see why it went to Allen in the end. After he popped his hamstring all his momentum got reversed though
You gave Allen some strikes that you thought were more impactful
He always does that bro. Just his interpretation. Doesnt mean hes the ultimate judge on scoring
the question becomes, if the fight is 2-2 into the 5th round and one fighter has been dominating with light damage, but then get beat up the last 10 seconds with heavy damage, who wins?
i love how fast you are to react and breakdown fights, it’s second to none👏🏾
Thank you brother
Do you have a job? If you did you go to work everyday. Or you get fired. If Weasel aint posting then he gets forgotten....
Anyone else hear Weasle say Curtis Blaydes at 11:04 lol
I thought live Allen edged him out but I could've seen how a judge could've given the closer rounds to Chris. It was like a kickboxer vs a mma guy match up
Shouldn’t you have an effective grappling counter alongside the striking one?
I personally believe Chris should move up the rankings, despite losing a close decision. They are both viable contenders IMO to fight top 5 opponents, plus Chris trains with the should be Champ Sean. Brenden submitted the two of highest level grapplers and couldn’t even keep Chris down. I would love to see how both stack up against Cannonier, particularly Chris. That would be a fun fight.
he never once had any chance of a submission so i give no credit for the boring grappling which is killing the sport
11:07 I didn't see Curtis Bladyes do jack sh!t. 😁
Could Curtis leg injury be caused by Allen in the beginning of the round?
That must really have something against Sean and Chris
Curtis hurt him so many times
Hip strikes are always heavy.
I watched it half-awake last night, the numbers are even but I clearly remember Curtis having the bigger shots overall.
You can’t really make good judgements if you’re half asleep, know what I mean
Memoey is subjective.
I think this is how judges often times score fights.
@@mmaslav6176😂😂😂
i had ut 3-1 going into the 5th for curtis but im not mad at 2-2 going into the 5th i can see the argument
I feel like an injury happening at the end of the 5th HAS to be caused by your opponent. This wasnt something that happened at start and a fluke like Tom aspinal.
You fought someone for 24 minutes in a grueling fight and THEN your leg goes. Ya, Allen won that 5th.
Curtis vs costa or cannonier would be fire, leave allen to fight imavov or Hernandez he still has to prove himself, curtis deserves a ranked opponent after saving the main event
I mean going off round 5, did Curtis really win that round. Watched twice and believe it was clear Allen round. Curtis did not jump when Allen was grounded. On feet Allen was landing elbows punches, you can deny but watch again he did. Got a nice takedown and took back again, his wrestling hurt Curtis’s leg and he had a nice flurry at the end. What exactly did Curtis do that round? Show a lack of urgency to get a finish when opponent is tired?
I’ve never disagreed more with the weasel while still agreeing with the conclusion 😂
Won a grand this week was on the lucky side on multiple fights including the Allen side
If damage is the main criteria why didnt Curtis win?? Had him backed up constantly, wobbled him and had no effective grappling whatsoever other than holding onto the back. So tired of grappling being a cop out when all they do is try wayward attempts and lay and pray
Bro Curtis is huge, his arms are like 18 inches lean
When it's razor thin but clear that one guy could not have gone another round you have to give it to the guy that could have kept going. It's not even complicated. And I was rooting for Curtis and thought he was winning the 5th right until he hurt his leg (but barely winning it). Good fight for both guys
