- In this talk, Dr. Iyer discusses the concept of God and how to find Divinity in humanness. He explores the idea that labels and definitions can limit our understanding of the Divine, and that true faith and love come from the heart, not the mind. Brother Sunder also emphasizes the importance of meaningful thoughts, mindful words, and meritorious actions in living a purposeful life. He encourages us all to take small steps towards practicing values like love, right action, and nonviolence, and to trust that the Divine will meet us halfway.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. lyer was in the first group of students to join Swami's institute of Higher Learning in Puttaparthi in 1979, and he was instrumental in starting the now renowned sports meet held every January. As with all students of those times, he had innumerable occasions to be close to Swami and to learn from His direct Divine presence. He had the special privilege of being one of Swami's personal attendants for several years during his student days. After completing a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a doctorate degree in Banking and Finance, he taught in Swami's university until 1994. A few months after Bhagawan attained Mahasamadhi (2011), Sunder lyer gave up his job and has dedicated his life to spreading Sanathana Dharma, Vedanta and Yoga.
