My wife and I saw him perform some of this material a couple of months ago in Springfield, MO. We'd just moved from New Orleans to Kansas City near the areas where Pat was born and grew up. We've been soaking up the back roads and highways of Lee's Summit and KC every day and thoroughly enjoying the people and peace of the Midwest. Pat's music LITERALLY moved me. Thank you for the music, Pat.

Get to a gig at the Green Lady Lounge on Grand to hear Rod Fleeman Trio and Danny Embry. Both played with Pat some in the late 70’s. Bothe of these musicians are virtuoso guitarist.

We saw Pat in 1983 in Rochester, NY. Tremendous band and packed venue! We saw a lot of the Dead Head /VW Microbus crowd in attendance!

You are probably the reason I don't play jazz fusion lol. I do occassionally steal some ideas and apply them to other genres.
This is interesting tho...because this not jazz fusion. This is just consonant jazz on solo guitar. Reminds me more of Django Reinhardt than jazz fusion.
If that is what you were going for, then you nailed it.

Addendum for any guitarists out there: wrap a bandana on your fretting hand so you can only use 2 fingers...and you will discover a hidden secret of jazz solo guitar in the Django Reinhardt style.
The story is that Mr. Reinhardt burnt his hand very badly in a gypsy caravan fire, and had to reteach himself the guitar with essentially only 2 working fingers. What an awesome story from the sands of time...
