    I didn’t start riding until I was 40 in1996, I fell in with very aggressive riders that beat me to death the first few years, this brings back such good memories, pylon racing in the trees is so freaking hard, I’m old now and all I can say is tear it up as much as you can.

Your ability to read, react to the terrain and make the snowmobile work for you - it's truly amazing to watch. It's not about who is better, it's about the sport and watching it evolve. Chris sounded sick, you are at elevation, Chris has a mod sled, etc... who cares, I appreciate how you both admire your individual skill sets and are so very humble. In gnarly technical riding you out ride Chris in my opinion, your aggression is over the top but that being said you are almost 20 years younger then he is. I wish I was young again, me and a few guys I know I think helped start some of the hard core BC sled movement in the later 90's, but what so many of todays hardcore riders are doing is insane; especially when it comes to the big gaps.
    You were in Chris's playground with him on a mod sled he set up for his style, you sure can see how well his sleds drive forward instead of wheelie fun time machines.

    I’ve never commented about that “best rider” topic, I have watched Chris since he was on an arctic cat, always liked him, he is a phenomenal rider no doubt! The best videos ever when it comes to tree riding, besides yours Caleb and Matt’s. But, I think you need to go up that gnarly creek that Keith goes up in his videos. Truly insane handling of his sled always with what seems to very little effort. I have watched that dude win Jackson so many times on so many different sleds it’s truly remarkable, so in my mind he’s the GOAT of anything sled. Love seeing proven progression vids pop up during the day, usually watch them right then or at lunch. Hope yours and Matt’s channels blow up!!

    This was a pleasure to watch. You've got a great eye on the video taking, and it was a blast to see the prolonged clips in the steep of Chris. It seems that all I ever see of Chris is the quick HERO shots, but with what you taped, holy cow, you ain't kidding about him being smooth. I've never seen that side. The 2 of you have each have your own style, and each on there own merits is just amazing. Those uphill 360 spins Chris did were mind blowing (13 minute mark). Also, thru it all, even if you did not realize it, I still found things that were a learning experience for me from watching you on this episode. The big one was actually how when you were giving advice to a couple of folks who managed to trench in a bit. Your calm manner in talking to them was a good thing for me to see. Lots of good riders out there, id say you are probably one of the best well rounded MNT sledders for sure. But one style that is pretty fun to do and looks really cool on film, I don;t know what you call it, but downhill ski inspired lines like Brody Evans & Derick Woods chit back in the day. Rob Alford is old balls now, but if you ever get a chance to ride with him, I swear he knows all the coolest & funnest downhill pow lines in Revelstoke.

      @CalebKesterke  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Brodie Evan’s really took that style to the next level! I still go back and watch his videos all the time. I don’t think anyone has come close to that big of air on smooth downhill lines

    I'd love to see the lines you could pull on his cheater sled😂
    10" of track in that snow is huge. At seely my 163 can feel heavy and slow to turn and I keep looking at 155's.
    However, at the end of the day when we're all gassed, I can just point and go on the 163 while my 155 buddies take 3 runs and poack tracks to make it out.
    Trying to bowtie a 163 isn't happening at my skill level unless it's a POW day in most of the Montana snow though, and let's face the fact that you need a nimble sled to pick your way through with your style.

    Looks like Chris running a pro setup,vs the khaos, has an advantage with keeping the nose down, floating vs trenching, and carrying more momentum. That 155 khaos just looks like a handful, and exhausting! I know you young guys like that playfulness, but I'd need an oxygen mask!😂

    • @CalebKesterke
      @CalebKesterke  Před 6 měsíci +1

  • @waults
    @waults Před 7 měsíci

    Don't discount the sled Chris was riding vs the stocker you were on. Chris is a damned good rider, no doubt, but having an extra 50-75 hp on a sled that's 100 lbs (at least) lighter could make a Muskoka level rider hang with you.
    Chris didn't disavow it, in fact bragged about riding a "Cheater Sled".
    Great video! Kept me up way past my planned bedtime.

    • @CalebKesterke
      @CalebKesterke  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I don’t disagree with you but I also like to be careful to not make excuses. If a guy believes he’s disadvantaged by what he’s riding it’s going to slow him down more than if he just focuses on riding the best he can

  • @MrWookie1981
    @MrWookie1981 Před 7 měsíci

    Aside from his massive skills I would think having the lighter sled with more power (900 boost I think) and 30lbs less body weight would also help with the momentum.

    • @leftyeh6495
      @leftyeh6495 Před 7 měsíci

      I think they shaved more like 60 lbs. Carbon skid, titanium everything, etc. He said he could drop 3 more lbs in the suspension, but lose the remote adjust and air. Quite literally the only weight left on the sled. 😂
      I'm waiting for him to figure out how to ditch the hood and panels all together, and just run a clutch cover for a few pounds.

    • @MrWookie1981
      @MrWookie1981 Před 7 měsíci
