I loved Judi's obviously fake confidence and Jonathans reaction to it. She played so well into the jokes xD "Where's the buzzer!?"

I honestly think James would be better as 'The Master',
However, I don't think he would be anything like Matt Smith, if anything I think he might come off too much like Baker, but without the feigned interest, once he settled into the role.
A long arc saga with Richard Ayoade as the Doctor, but basically just "the character" (tv version Richard) and James as The Master(he can always come back) would be absolutely fantastic.

I think I had this on in the background the first time I saw this, so I somehow missed the badassery of Jonathan Ross telling Jimmy Carr off in what seems to be a genuine moment. That was the most cathartic thing I've ever seen on a Big Fat Quiz.

Look, I’m very much for equality, and I don’t think that turning down someone because of their skin colour, as suggested here, will in fact create a more equal society. Also, I’m not really sure what you mean by media catering to “white people”. Do “white people” necessarily have a different taste than other groups? I find that sort of generalisation to be potentially offending to both “white” and “coloured” people.
By compromise I was referring to a situation where you have somebody who’s ideal for the part, but the only reason he doesn’t get it is due to his shade of skin. If that’s not discriminatory, then what is it? Not to say that the intention isn’t good and all, but still beats the purpose IMO.
BTW, I am from an ethnic minority (and non-English), dunno why it’s relevant.

What's great about James' little (obviously tongue in cheek) message to both franchises is everyone is in on the joke, even the dedicated feminist ON HIS TEAM.

The thing about his joke is that it is obviously sarcastic. He even says “Let’s go backwards together.” It’s obvious he’s not being serious. There are some jokes that are clearly satirical, poking fun at ignorant people (James’ joke here) and then there are jokes that are less tasteful, and are meant to hurt others.
It's also interesting to see that they edited the scene. He originally says "please don't cast a big black woman" while looking at Judi Love. But then it gets edited so he only says "to both franchises don't cast a woman."
I'm not a fan of Sarah Pascoe's faux naivety but I find James Acaster attractive so I tolerated this. 👍
