i have always used the wet polisher. looks just like this one except it attaches to a water hose . it also has speed control and water control. love polishing and shaping big rocks.
I just searched on Amazon. Search for "diamond wet polishing pads" and "4 1/2 inch variable speed grinder". You will find a variety. With the pads look for one that has a lot of different grit sizes and the velcro attachment for quick changes. Thank you for watching!
It takes me about 45 minutes for most rocks. It depends on how rough the rock is and if you need to sand off large areas. I pick the side of the rock that is the smoothest. I hope this helps!
I love that these have both the raw look and a polished side! Great idea as I have a lot of larger rocks that don’t fit in my tumbler!

Rock on rock on, I have huge jaspers and agates wood etc to do and I think I will use the face polishing method you described with a raw side.
