I've learned more from your channel than I ever have any place else. Now that I'm retired it's a good time to pull out my old (and I do mean OLD) rods and reels, plow off the dust and try my hand at it again. Thanks Gene for keeping it real and fun. Love your channel. God Bless
Best fishing videos out there. No high dollar bullshit but tons of knowledge. Thanks Richard!

really really love that boat...I like the simplicity....we have a 14.5 ft lowe that is 54 inches wide...bought around 1988 and love it..we put some flooring and carpet down, seats, foot control trolling mtr, fish finder and a little B&S 5 hp outboard....we rebuild about every 5 years and its been a good boat....no leaks either....but would love to have an outfit like yours....very nice.
Thank you Bill!

how to locate crappie almost ANY TIME of the year.
cut down cedar trees
get equal amount of cinder blocks
tie cedars to cinder blocks at base
take cedar trees to desired fishing area
drop anchored trees in desired fishing area in zig zag pattern at appropriate depths.
fish will immediately begin to shelter and nest ( egg laying ) in and near the cedars.
catch more fish than any human could possibly eat..
Damn thats a good idea. I might do that for my grandmas pond to add structure and fish habitat. Fuckin genius!
My buddy told me he likes to make tops with green pin oak tree he said works better than cedar tops he sinks them same way that you do. I'm more into catfishing myself.
@@justinsigmon1878 i prefer crappy and largemouth fishing . this design regardless of the trees/ scrub used creates a breeding / hunting ground for the fish. even if you never fish the area - it still establishes a breeding and hunting field and the fish will repopulate much more quickly. enjoy.
@@mixter7x7 awesome thanks. Anyone that makes the outdoors better is good with me.
Real life fishin. Cast out on a bait cast, reel in on a spinner for first cast. You're a funny guy

Good job Richard. It can get rough finding them in the summer!
Thats very true Bryan. Thanks for watching Brother!
We made some square racks of expanded metal and bolted them to our trailer. Makes it much easier to walk in a slippery boat trailer
I've been targeting crappies this summer because of your channel and even though we don't have the exact same ecosystems in Minnesota that you do down there, I'm still doing ok! Thanks for the education.

A green & white Squirmin' Squirt from Bass Pro is a really good jig for Crappie. As well as Bass, Blue Gill & Catfish. Give it a try sometime.
I'll have to give it a try! Thank you for watchng Rodeoman!!
I use hotdogs to sometime the best hair in my opinion is night crawlers or
Hotdogs or last night i caught a catfish off a lunchable the cheese in it
Love the fish and info. But that coffee cup sitting on the edge of that Alweld caught my eye. Fishing machine!
thank you for the tips I'm just getting into the crappie fishing and trying to find them but not doing to bad . been using a green light at night with a green grass hopper from power bate that works pretty good. but throw the day seems like every thing will hit it ( crappie, bluegeal ,bass, catfish , and so on. love your energy .have been fishing some Collins but didn't think about the back side out of the current good tip thanks. keep your hooks wet and your back dry!
Thank you Mryoutub59!
Great videos and I love the simplicity of your rig. I remember when I started fishing I had a humminbird super 60 flasher and would fill the live well. Now I have screens everywhere and don’t catch near the fish. Tight lines and thank you for the videos
Thank you Jeff!
Hey Richard thanks for teaching me your techniques. I’m originally from Hawaii but now living in Washington state. We don’t have crappie back home in Hawaii so I’m new to this type of fishing. I’m learning a great deal from watching your content and I’m grateful! I just had one question. What kind of lure scent do you recommend? I would appreciate any advice. Mahalo Richard keep posting these great videos!
Awesome video and informative at the same time 👍
Thank you GoPro Man!!
I’ve noticed in all of Weiss lake when it’s super hot, you can always drop all the way to the bottom and reel up about 2 feet and catch em. I always start 2 feet from the bottom and work my way up in the water column. They prefer 55-58 degree water
Great info keep fishing..
Cause it's good fer you!
Thank you Kenneth! Yes you right cause it's good fer you!
This is a great video with a lot of information regarding catching bridge pylon crappie. one thing to keep in mind is that the wind will also create a current and the fish will hide in behind the column. it forms an eddy that gives them a strategic spot to ambush bait fish. Wind is your friend (even though you may not like it). Great Video!!!!!!
Thank you Robert!
Yes finally close to my end of. The lake!
Glad you enjoyed it Al!
Great video for summer time crappie
