      @@EliteNirvana I know, he's envious of Kurt's success, cause the Melvin's aren't popular...it's hurts that even when somebody's dead, they're still receiving more attention, making loads of money being constantly talked about on YT, fans and new fans are still listening to Nirvana and there's Buzz like a fly on a boogie turd, just buzzing around going places, accomplished feeding off many shits. I agree 100% with that statement. Goddamn what a band. It's a sin how underrated and unknown they are. I'm blown away by how many great songs they have. Over the Edge and Is This Real? alone are absolute perfect albums and they have like 8 others to delve into. The Circle is great also. Greg's solo album Straight Ahead (which I think has the other Wipers as the band) is incredibly haunting and amazing. He's a top notch songwriter and guitarist. The Wipers rule. So, now, think about Buzz Osbourne's words in relation to this time signature, the purpose of the time signature, the same reason why the shortest part of the interview is in the title.
      The irony and cynicism of this phenomena, where mainstream culture has decided that the most interesting thing about Buzz Osbourne and The Melvins is that they knew Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, that's the part the media put in their titles even though it's the shortest part of the interview, that people want to jump to just that part out of all the things he talks about, and it's the shortest part of the interview because he hates talking about his friend who died in a terrible tragic way.
      Not saying it's a bad thing, I don't think you're doing anything wrong, things are how they are, but it's a thought.

    King Buzzo with the kick ass 5 desert island albums! Fully agree and love the choices here. Live at Leeds is incredible. The original vinyl issue came with all kinds of pictures, equipment receipts, lyrics, posters, etc. The band is on fire in that era perfectly caught on tape. Cream's Wheels of Fire is awesome of course, but I'm more a Disraeli Gears fan. All Cream records rock. Their first live album has a killer version of NSU. The Stones Sticky Fingers is a masterpiece. Mick Taylor shines on that one. I love that Buzz has that Wipers triple cd haha! I have it in my car and it's on constant rotation. Don't sleep on Greg Sage's solo album Straight Ahead either! Such an incredible desert style album. Very eerie and cool. Last but not least the Dylan album is superb also. Gates of Eden is an incredible song. The words just paint such great imagery. STICKY FINGERS had a big impact on me as well. A real magical thing. It's one of those things that exist just right as a piece. Kind of like Buzzo's picks, he has a good ear for strait up rockin. Been wanting to pick up a couple Melvins cd's lately, mine are literally wearing out! Bullhead and the Maggot. I went online and it's hard to find them, are they going to be reissued or something? • @JasonPizzolato
      @JasonPizzolato Před 3 lety +1

      The Maggot was on Ipecac Records (Mike Patton's label), so you could go to their site & see what's up, or try dropping them a line to see if there's a copy laying around. Bullhead was on Boner Records. If you have Facebook, head over to Tom Flynn's page & drop him a line (he owns the label). Tell him I sent ya. He probably has some Bullhead over there. Dale signed my vinyl copy of Bullhead in 1999. His side band, Altamont, was doing a show w/ a few of my friends' bands, so I brought the record along. The show was the CD-release party for The Maggot, strangely enough.
      You can always check on Discogs, too, to see if someone's selling copies of those CDs or records in conditions you'd be comfortable with. I just checked & there are copies of each for sale over there.
      Bullhead & The Maggot have both been reissued several times, so there are several versions to choose from.

    You know he can say he fired Kurt all he wants. Funny thing is they put out 30 albums. Nirvana only has like 6. Nirvana was the biggest band of the 90s and still loved today. Kurt is a Icon! Melvins and Buzz are well known but not on Nirvana Level! So suck it Buzz! ✌

      Kurt copied The Melvins. I would take the bet that if Kurt was alive today, he would give a massive amount of credit to these guys. What does Kris have to say about this? Cause Nirvana was Kris and Kurt and not just Kurt. Scratch Acid -> Melvins -> Nirvana (Pop Music) progressive evolution.

      What a loser. I’m a massive fan of nirvana but people like you fucking irritate me to no end. You need to stop sucking off Kurt and learn to appreciate other bands. Nirvana didn’t do anything new, they’d didn’t deserve to be the figureheads of grunge and they weren’t the best out of all the bands from their Scene. Besides if you love Kurt enough to keep getting insulted on his behalf, you’d know he absolutely loved buzz and the melvins and would probably tell you to fuck off if you talked shit about them.

      @@EliteNirvana Yes I know man I've seen many interviews as well with the same attitude from Buzz. If you know The Melvins music, their out of step approach and Buzz in general from the way he acts and talks, it's pretty clear his way of dealing with his old friends death is in the form of resentment of him getting sucked into a self destructive whirlwind by bashing drugs and drug addicts which plagued Kurt. Having scorn for shitheads like Courtney Love, and the leeches of the music industry that preyed on him. He's probably sick of being asked about it too. It's a depressing true story with layers of myth and incorrect nostalgia. So to finalize here, I don't see it as a jealousy of fame and success at all. Please don't take this as an attack or argument. I hear this often and as a longtime Melvins and Nirvana fan, I find it incorrect. I mean shit, some dude has a CZcams channel that analyzes Kurt and Nirvana with a whole episode saying Kurt's friends envied his success which included The Melvins. I mean dude, come on that's straight up silly. Dale was in the band early on. Krist and Kurt hung at their practices. It was a circle of friends that loved music. Different styles and ideas. Different audiences. Both great bands. Long winded response! Fuck it.
