  • Here we were, all geared up to produce new product videos and then the 'Rona hits and we can't get the crew together! So what we did is some Down & Dirty Desktop Reviews on products. They may be as rough as guts and longer than intended, but the info is in there for you to get the most out of the product and what else have you got on today, another trip to the fridge?
The first will show you the UF Pro Tactical Knee Pad System, it's components and why we think it is better than others. We also discuss why getting your leg length is important to the propper fit of your UF Pro trousers.
    Enjoy!

Great video, covering something no-one else really reviews!
Thank-you for mentioning the leg length, as well - I'm quite bored of people complaining about the pads being in the wrong place, when they clearly haven't measured their inseam properly!

Thanks Sarrienne, UF Pro really make the effort to fit that 95th percentile of users as they and others know that exactly how important fit is to function and comfort. Like you, I have noticed that no-one describes how the trousers are expected to be worn, which may cause measuring errors in fitting.

@@premierdefenceagencies8145 I might actually have to take back what I said, as a team-mate of mine is having problems with his knee pads...
In his case, he has a 30" waist and 34" inseam... UF Pro just don't go that long, meaning he had to buy the 32" waist, which then hangs too loose and low for the kneepads, but can't be worn higher up with a belt, as it bunches up under the belt and causes serious chafing.

@@Sarrienne I hate to say it but your teammate is likely in the world of custom fitting to get any propper fit. In thier case, the Crye adjustment system is a benefit but whatever off-the-shelf size they get, there will be compromise. Most uniform makers aim to fit what is called the 95th Percentile of people, but there are some shapes that you will find outside this. Knowing Armin and the guys at UF Pro, if he contacts them, they might be able to do him some 30/34 trousers. I'd imagine there would be an additional cost involved. Maybe pass that one onto the boss...

@@premierdefenceagencies8145 I'll see about getting him in touch. I just find it odd that UFP stop at 32", as most other tactical brands I use go to 36" on their waist sizes... not sure about Crye, as I'm not a fan of their kit myself, but since they supply many of our units' standard uniforms, I'd guess they'd have to supply every imaginable size under the sun!

@@Sarrienne You mean 36" Middle Leg size and not waist?

I know this is an old video, but I was wondering if you could speak to the durability of the cordura material over the knee pads. Is that material wearing out pretty quickly when dropping to your knees regularly? Im debating if i should get knee pads that are over the pants like alta industries that I can then change out and throw away without ripping my pants open at the knees.

Hi Tjay, we've had no reports of issues with the durabilty of cordura panels in any of our brands. Generally, the cordura will be the last thing to go, but if you're contunually kneeling on sharp stuff with the hard pads inserted, you will experience accelerated wear, which is only natural for the conditions. Under normal hard use, the cordura shouldn't be a problem.

      Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch. We're the Australian distributor for UF Pro, so that's an Aussie accent you're hearing.
