SRNJ & NJT On the Atlantic City Line, Railfanning Winslow - Atlantic City, NJ 12/27/23

NJT revenue ACL trains and SRNJ WJPV running lite power to and from Atlantic City Terminal to pick up NJTR MP20DC 1003. The 1003 is on lease to SRNJ to use for PTC on the Atlantic City Line Starting January 1st NJT will cease giving waivers across its system for trains without working PTC, as it will now be required to be cut in at all times. Loaning out the 1003 will allow SRNJ to continue to run to Pleasantville, but will put an end to the book ended ALCo sets on the ACL for the foreseeable future. It is rumored that SRNJ is working on putting PTC in their ALCo's, but past attempts have failed and it remains to be seen whether it will be possible or not. I was hoping for one last run this year to Pleasantville with dual ALCo's, but they ended up doing this instead. Nonetheless it was still cool to see SRNJ inside AC Terminal, as that does not happen very often. Enjoy!

The engine loaned to SNJR looks like it's in better condition then the engines used on the AC line now😂😂

Great footage! I'm not used to seeing anything other than Geeps and comets at Atlantic City station, let alone two lite freight engines. I covered this line in my branch line review series named Fixing Your Branch Line, but I wasn't sure as to how frequent the local freight operations along the line were. Keep up the good work.

There will be more. They have to swap out the engines with NJT for their 92 day inspections, which need to be done at the MMC.

Yes they do! They are currently working on putting PTC into one of them as well.

Really hope it someday returns to IAIS colors! Although it’s not likely. Also has anyone ever noticed that no M420’s are preserved?
