When I was maybe ten years old I was at the library book sale near my grandparents house in a small town way the hell out on Long Island. I overheard one of the library volunteers absolutely ranting to her friend about how terrible her grown daughter was being while visiting. That the daughter kept saying her mom wasn’t making Ceasar salad because she was using ranch dressing, and iceberg lettuce, and also added bacon bits and tomatoes.
