Timmy will have a concave plasteron (bottom shell) if it's a male.. and males are about 4 inches max...
Put some branches in his tank he'll climb up and out put it in his basking spot!😁
The rainbow tank is so lively I'd love to see a giant danio tank ... maybe with the archers
MD in a recent video: it's so great to have a work surface in the studio.

It’s good that you put that rock in so Timmy can totally climb out of the water and dry off completely if he wants. Even though musk/mud turtles are highly aquatic it’s good for all turtles to have that option. Smooth-ish rocks are preferable as very rough ones can cause abrasions which could become infected. Turtles shells are made of living tissue and they can totally feel through them. Maybe you should get him a new little turtle buddy if he has a huge new “centerpiece” home. BTW all turtles do have tongues, only aquatic turtles are evolved to swallow exclusively under water. Semi-aquatic turtles can eat either on land or in water and fully terrestrial tortoises eat exclusively on land. The “UV-B” bulb and a little extra calcium powder on his food is essential to prevent a deformed shell from MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease.) The bulbs need to be replaced every 8 months or so and most bulbs/supplies are less expensive online than in the shops -sometimes up to 50% less.

Any plans to go bigger than 4ft tank wise? I understand its definitely a big undertaking and can be particularly expensive but the possibilities with a larger surface area combined with your level of skill would be quite the spectacle!

If you cut your island in half you could make a fold up table on hinges attached to it so you can still have a work space when you need it. Then put it away to open up the space when you aren't using it.
Gosh your videos are so good and you post so regularly! The amount of work you put into it must be crazy, I'm sure most of us couldn't handle this amount of work at this pace, congratulations! Your studio looks amazing by the way! :)

I would really love to see a video of the trimming of the plants from the betta tank. It's definitely a part of the maintenance I'm not too sure about and I would love to see how you're doing it!

I have no tanks set up right now. I'm living vicariously thru you. When I do, I prefer to do less volume more frequent water changes myself. In a traditional tank. That way you're on a schedule and don't forget and it's more like it is in nature.

Everything must come to an end & I hope that everything goes smoothly with painting and all the rest !!! Honestly MD , I'm not sure who else on CZcams etc.could have done all the Incredible things that you did up there , and the best part about it was that 99% of everything was memorable and that to me is the only compliment I could give you that I would be able to see the efforts that you have made and for the peoples relevant comments that for the most part were authentic and supportive and even the negative comments or pointless ones were again not the typical crazy things some people who are never really happy with everything that you just let it go and like you are known for saying " make the best with what you have & get on to the build "

I believe he is a mini musk turtle he won't get to big maybe 4 to 5 inches? I really don't know just a guess from what I've seen.
A thing I do now with Anubias & rocks, is using a tyrap. Just wrap it on the plant (not to tight obviously) and then wedge the outstanding (?) part between the rocks. Makes it much harder for the fish (or turtles) to get it out.

He didn't make it. Shortly after he was taken in, he stopped eating and just passed away. The scans I had done showed no impaction in the gut ( which was first suspicions) so we are assuming there was another issue that we couldn't pick up on. I was going to make a video but seeing as we didn't know the problem and I was pretty gutted about it, I just thought best not to.

the timmy scape is the one i've been waiting for the longest. I would also highly recommend doing a bit of research on turtles again since reptile care changes very quickly! (just in case)
I don't know much about musk turtles but I've seen care guides recommend feeding live insects as well

Being the long time owner of turtles I recommend you adding calcium in your tank, the best kind I found was by cuttlefish, get some from the local pet shop in the bird section, much cheaper and 100% natural for Timmy helps with shell and claw growth. Was a tip from my reptile vet years ago, have been doing it for years now 😊 good luck & I really enjoy your videos

Hey if you want some decorations for the fish room look at Paul cuffaros fish room he got these 2 massive fake tree which would look really good in your fish room, he also tells you who made them as well
You said when putting in rocks at the start that you didn't think Timmy could move the big rocks, but one of my nerite snails surprised me when apparently it was leg day and he was just lifting up this massive (in comparison to him) rock with his foot over and over again. xD Timmy is adorable.

YESS,a turtle episode lets gooo nice MD,timmy looks nice too but btw i thought his basking spot is suppossed to be very dry but in his new tank he is half submerge which i think can give him shell rot? or im wrong idk just check to be safe tho its temperrary so i guess that works
