As an Englishman and longtime fan, seeing Christopher Ward coming into their own this past year has been most satisfying.
I bet. As an American, I wish the US had something like this. RGM, Timex, are trying
I couldn't agree more. I have a couple of watches of theirs but they seem to be ratcheting it up a few notches as of late. I just hope they remain good value as I am pretty sure people looking at the likes of Tudor etc are going to be seeing them as a genuine alternative, and rightly so!
@lefroy1 I liked the GMT I saw.
Which one/ones do you have?
Smaller AND no date? The wait list will be perpetual.
Ridiculous. It's not Rolex?! 😂
@@Guitarorpheo the bel canto waitlist at the moment is June 2024...
Lol 😂 🤣 Good one there... Of course there's no waitlist... Why should there be in the first place?
Of they keep this up, the world is their oyster!
But same price. Thats Not fitting.
Does anyone else think Christopher Ward should make more variety of dial colours for the titanium?
I would buy a white dial titanium version right away
and now they have!
Stunning beauty. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long long time, although I knew the 36mm was in the works I felt that the wait would not last much longer. The minty one is on its way and can’t wait to start enjoying it next week 😇
I’d love to see CW coming out with their interpretation of a 36mm-38mm vintage dress watch (like the bambino or timex 32) 💪🏼💪🏼
When the CW 12 launched I was amazed at the spec, but the PRX seemed to pull if off a little more effortlessly. I thought they were both too big, however, so I was really glad when the PRX Powermatic was made available in 35. But to my disappointment, the dimensions didn't work as well on the smaller PRX. With the Christopher Ward it is the opposite: It finally seems to have the effortless elegance and beauty I couldn't see in the bigger version. CW are really killing it atm, I will have to get this one!
how is your 36mm? I got 16.2cm wrist and tried PRX 40mm that looked a bit too large for my liking..35mm was too small. So I wonder what's it like with 36 CW watch?
I just ordered the 12 in 40mm in blue.
It tics all the boxes I wanted. It combines the VC Overseas, Zenith Defy and the AP all in one Swiss package!
These new ones look amazing, I just wish I could get the titanium in a solid color (preferably white).
With my 7 3/4 inch wrist I may be biased. Personally I appreciate larger watch because I get more dial to love! 😍
Been a big Chris Ward fan from the start. Thanks for this.
I absolutely love the design, and with a small wrist this is the perfect size for me. Today I ordered the Nordic Blue. Will be delivered end of Sep.
Love this - the absence of a date is a big feature for me because "wind, set 'n go" is awesome when you have a few to choose from, and winders are stupid. Have to admit though, for an everyday 3-hander, I'll buy the Hamilton Murph 38 first (Hamilton fanboy here) - but as an integrated, this would (will?) be mine soon. 37/8mm would sell more though - I think guys (guys buy more watches) still think 36 is a little "unisex" - although I love my '98 36mm Tag - so maybe not?
I took delivery of my Twelve yesterday and actually panicked the day before when CW teased some news on their Instagram account. I really love the green dial, but thankfully I'm of a mind that 36mm is too small so I couldn't be happier with my choice. Such a beautiful watch.
Love it! 36mm is preferable to the 40mm, and that new lichen green color is beautiful. CW has been killing it recently
It is nice to see women have an option for the 12. I can see where the 40 is a little too big for smaller wristed females
@@italianstallion3130 40 mm is too big for lots of males as well, since this is an elegant, no-bezel watch - they are meant not to be bulky. This is still what Rolex (and Tudor) does right.
I just added this watch to the collection. Loving it. 40mm with date and blue dial
I am considering getting this to "share" with my wife. Thinking I could size the bracelet for me (7.25" wrist) and swap the green rubber for her (5.75" wrist). Do you think it could work for both of us?
I’m holding out for the 12mm The 36…🤞
Waiting for them to release the purple color dial in the 36, and it's the next buy. Absolutely LOVE it.
If I didn't just get a horage supercede I would absolutely be considering this. I love these and the different colors are fantastic.
This must be their answer for Tissot's 35mm PRX, but better and costing equally more.
Competition is always welcome, especially in this price point.
Which size would you recommend for a 6.5" (16.5 cm) flat wrist? Unfortunately I can't try this on in person.
I love the dial...personally not a fan of integrated straps though. Mostly will go for a Sealander.
absolutely love this new size from CW! I am really hoping they come out with the Basalt grey as well to add to the line! Lovely review!
I agree. I already have the grey 40mm Twelve and think it's a little large on me. A grey 36mm version would be off the scale amazing.
@@denniskwok7613what’s your wrist size out of curiosity?
I already have the grey 40mm Twelve and will pick up my darker blue 36mm when I land back in the UK. I can't wait to to compare the two of them side by side.
Update: which colour option is better?
I wholeheartedly agree with the passionate argument that this version is probably better than the first. It somehow also manages to put more distance between it snd its very many quite literal sources of inspiration. I will also tale your word for it thst CW is doing very good things, and while initially I rhought no colour of the 36mm appeals to me (where are more interesting options, such as mulberry here?), i actually am starting to like the white and rose gold version more and more (should add that I seem to have grown out of my liking of the same version of the Maurice Lacroix Icon). What I don't truly get is the insistence of the importance of this particular integrated bracelet watch by CW. The transition of CW is important, but there are so many truly excellent and in terms of design more authentic integrated bracelet watches. Yes, now rhe Twelve jas become more desirable and it remains reasonably affordable, but it sits amongst a crowd and is not really a trailblazer.
The twelve is such a cool watch, the only thing keeping me off is the colour options. If there was a black id feel forced to buy one
What I'm looking for is my watch which I paid for 4 months ago and still have to wait another two months. By the time I get it, I'll have lost interest. I think CW should reconsider their supply situation to shorten the fulfilment period because, even though I intellectually I realised it was a half year wait, I'm now completely fed up.
If 40mm was a tiny bit too big. 36mm is too Small. This should be 38mm. Period
There’s always one guy. Choose 36, or 40. Very simple.
Lmao decades of Rolex success disagrees with you
I wish this was available last year when I bought the 40mm PRX lol. I like the PRX but I prefer the CW dial design way more. The new green color is gorgeous. Its been added to my ever expanding list haba
Green doesn’t come in 40mm so be happy you have one that fits
@samangusmacfarlane Oh the 40mm barely works for my wrist haha. I'd rather a smaller size but the PRX works
As I'm laughingly saying 'You've created a monster!' after hearing your story about your wife's latest series of acquisitions, you echoed me exactly. I did the same to my brother but with trainers a few years ago. Now his spare bedroom looks like the back room of a Foot Locker. Even with her added to the converted, I would still suggest running that future A. Lange & Sohne purchase past her first.
Visually beautiful, but what a lack of accuracy and power reserve in the movement when compared to the PRX for the price…
Omitting the date window could be considered blasphemy but to me it improves the overall elegance of the watch.
Why not rotate their logo 90deg on the dial, it would be symmetrical and offer a more balanced look.
What? Symmetry is overrated...
these look really nice, I'm waiting to see if they drop any more color ways in this size
I bought my second CW, "The Twelve" glacer blue, but it was a huge disappointment.
There is a second glass on the dial-face that is very ugly when one see it in person, i returned it immediately.
Just look at 1min 11sek, this was a big supprise. It sems that the TI version is without this extra layer of glas and would be the right option.
I have a CW Atoll with the same movement as the 12. My watch runs @+4 seconds a day (much the same as other brand & movement watches I own)
I really like The Twelve watches. Wanted to purchase a 36mm with a date window which was not available. I do not like larger watches so I bought a CW C63 Sealander 36mm with a date window. I do wish The Twelve 36mm had a date window. I can say I like my CW very much and wear it even more often than my Rolex. Great watch for the money. One reason I bought a CW is they offer 36mm watches while others do not. Yes Rolex offers 36mm but who can afford multiple watches from Rolex? Thank you CW
36 to 38 is pretty much perfect(for me) 40 for a dive. This is a beautiful watch, Christopher Ward really upping their game.
The enthusiasm of the reviewer is very infectious. And fully deserved for the Twelve.
Probably gonna go for the bigger size for my 7.125" or 18cm wrist.
Problem is ... what colour dial do I choose ..... ??
I have to agree, no date window is a winner. I’m in the no date window camp and a date window ruins watches like the PRX and the rest.
Now I really like the style of that Tudor with the day and date. To each their own. With the day/date. I’d like to see that on this watch.
Would like to see you chaps review the C63 Sealander GMT Dragonfly. Can’t decide between the 12 or that right now.
How dare you.
Poopy is a family name.
If I pull the trigger I think it will be the darker blue. Was close to getting a dark green PRX 35mm but now this? Terrific problem to have. Keep up the great work! Reviews are always a pleasant listen.
Cheers
You didn’t create the monster, you brought her out of the watch closet.😂
Oh no what to do. I had my heart set on a no date 1967 seiko king. The silver and guilt dial looks proper on this👌
This is already my watch-release of the year!
The comparison with the Tudor Royal. The CW definitely has a better design. When you have put both watches on your wrist at the same time, the Tudor Royal has a much more premium feel to it. But we also need to factor in the Tudor Royal is almost double the price. Overall I agree the CW is a great value and I would pick this over the Tissot PRX. Goes back to, does non-in house movement matter?
very nice, in my size and no date makes it a contender, thanks for the review.
Why didn't you guys mention The Twelve rather than the Tissot prx on the best 100 watches?😉. I'm waiting for my Nebula Purple for November 🍀
I was hoping for a smaller size but in the purple. What I'd like to see from them next is a 38mm moon phase in a fun colour
I wouldn’t hold your breath
The 12 is a clean and crisp watch and although not have a date is OK, the small size is a bit of a sticking point, but then some like the larger dials and some do not, it is a matter of preference !
Just to tell you that I had actually bought a Christopher Ward the 12 after seeing all these watch reviewer videos since I like collecting watches and on videos, they actually look good. However the quality is not at all a Swiss made watch like as I had to return it with such a major issue on dial that you would not expect with a normal watch forget about Swiss watch in fact, I had ordered a rubber strap as well, which wasn’t fitting to the Watch even after numerous attempts and to that there customer care actually acknowledged that they have this issue as common complaint. I have proves to show in case anyone is interested.
What was your issue exactly?
@@7ish4m the case had gap which was clearly visible, and the rubber strap was not fitting the watch at all, and the customer care, confirmed that it is a known issue for them.
Man my heart just sank when I seen those app store logos
Hello, I love the Twelve, and especially the new ones with the SW300-1 including a new optimization barrel. It gives to these models 56 hours of power resere. But the Powermatic gives 80 hours of power reserve to the PRX. I also love the look of The Twelve, but the PRX automatic's look is also beautiful. And, to end, PRX are way less expansive than Twelve.
I prefer a 38, would buy. 40 is nice but hate the date
used to love the vids in third person
Can you go back to the old format? You seem to be doing the same format on both this and your personal youtube account. A lot of loved the old format
I have a Twelve 40mm ordered in Ti but my wrist size is 6.5 and I’m beginning to wonder if the 40mm will be too big and I should swap to the 36mm?
36mm will be better for you that's for sure.
„So I’ve created a monster“
It’s amazing but somehow not surprising that CW was the one to break this trend 😆
Steel&gold 36mm dune with the consort bracelet. 18k rose gold twelve
Bought mine yesterday! Pretty excited!
does anyone know the actual model name / number ? thank you in advance!
These look so good, there's just one thing I can't get past - the size of the hour markers. They're slightly oversized to me, and detract a little from the artistry of the dial. Am I the only one ?
watchfinder PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR RECORDING GEAR!! Brilliant video quality only undermined by your voiceover. It could be millions better
Dear Andrew, it is embarrassing how CW is pushed by CZcamsrs but it turns out that being from the EU is problem due to customs and CW not be able or willing to take care for the declaration. Especially if you want to return the watch - for repair or refund - it becomes a nightmare unless you are a custom agent. Customers should be aware of being trapped when buying CW outside from GB.
Tissot PRX powermatic 80 costs 745 € and CW costs 1350 € Yes the CW Twelve is a better watch but it costs 605 € more and thats heck a lot of money. You can add another 140€ and buy another color prx 80. And IMO the CW is not that much better than the Tissot for the price difference not to mention that servicing the prx will be much more easier and less heavy on your wallet.
Agree to disagree having owned a PRX but now owning a CW, its much better. The finishing and angles rival watches in the mid luxury tier. Also servicing a SW200 (An off the shelf movement) is very easy and any watchmaker could do it at a low price. So besides price, and you get what you pay for, the PRX has no advantages to me.
@@Ae073001 I respect your opinion but I never said the PRX is a better watch or better value. Ofc the CW is much better but I don’t think these 2 watches should be compared since the price gap is almost double. Thats what I was getting at. The movement in the PRX is in my opinion much better and I will always take ETA over Sellita.
@@krunokirhenmajer1652the powermatic80 contains plastic parts and so they often don’t service it, but replace the whole movement!
Bit too small for me, but I love the colours.
sadly, i have to wait til january til i can get one. or even febuary.. but i cant wait! i already own a CW GMT. will be getting the larger one tho :)
Yes, date window is not necessary in such a watch...have they fixed the ratchet wheel issue?
I really enjoy your video's, it's just a shame Farer never get a look in
Any guess on whether they'll make a bronze version? Then again, the Astral Blue dial I like the most seems to come with titanium cases only.
I'm a CW fanboy, so I'm clearly biased.
I think CW did well with the 12, I appeals to a wider market. They also released a C60 300m recently, that appeals to the stable fanbase, so I'm not too worried about them abandoning the people who got them where they are.
For me, my C63 Sealander Auto, and C65 Dune Auto scratch my CW itch for now.
Plse give us a SALMON DIAL, it's going to be another home run!!
The buyers waiting extended delivery for their Bel Canto’s are becoming more frustrated at bank rolling CW so they can put the Twelves out
Is this really the new Lichen Green color that came out? It looks like a deeper green on their website!
I’d like to see this up against the Tissot PRX… wait just had to watch the video a little longer.
The only CW watch on a bracelet under $1000 is the sealander.
I’m waiting for a titanium 40mm in white 🤞🏻
Now let's coerce CW to do 40 mm in Black ceramic with red dial and I can die peacefully
Love the size. Just need the SW300 in Steel Or Titanium cases with better dial choice.
I want to larger one. Not being able to try them on is an issue so tell me, is there an easy answer between getting the titanium vs the steel?
Removing the date complication is the best marketing ever you ever did CW
Thats a beauty of a watch.
Gorgeous watch, honestly priced.
And I love a watch that displays our Lord's Cross.
Well!!! I own a C1 Morgan and a bronze Trident ... back from the days when CW wasn't cool :-)
As the original size was too small for me, I was hoping a 43mm version. Now I am disappointed. A 2-tone version might be interesting to see in a bigger size. Titanium would work well with gold.
I think is really a fantastic watch. Very undecided still about the 4 colors available 😂. They are all very nice.
The Purple 40 mm is the one I want. It's called the Ti, I think .
Now I can seriously consider it. good.
Still prefer the PRX
If i didn’t have a Maen Manhattan 37 no date with the sellita movement on preorder I would snap this up in a heartbeat
The Mean is not round, it wears like a 40.
@@lemmontree1 yeah - I wanted a smaller watch, but none that intrigued me at the $1000 price so I went with the Maen. Just don’t want to spend another $1200 to add the twelve until I live with the Manhattan and decide if it is a keeper :)
that is just up my street however I can,t buy one because how would I chose what to wear this or the 37mm GS
Is that a Father Ted reference snuck in there. I’m a fan of this size. Can’t to see how this evolves.
I’ll just settle for the 40mm Twelve that I ordered 6 months ago that may arrive in November
Is there a big wait time? The website doesn't say that. Does it? I want one for my wedding in December.
@@bennygordon5898 They made a mistake and didn’t actually add my order to the June run so I’ve now got to wait until the current production run in November. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this problem though so it’s possible I was just particularly unlucky.
Do you think they will come out with a GMT version?
Way to sell the lack of the date complication, FREEDOM.
Bro, I know… I get it…you love CW. What, are they hiring?
How do Alpina Watches compare to Christipher Ward? To me Alpina seems the new Oris for affordable swiss watches...
How much is the total cost inclusive of duty in usa for the christopher ward twelve. Their site doesn’t mention the amount of duties and taxes.
I wish word could use the green from the prx.
