So old tunnel plan is shelved.

There is urgent need for connecting port city Mangalore to silicon city Bangalore, Now transport is a nightmare in this road. If it happens with high speed a high-speed road government will be remembered forever.

It is better project because traffic problems solved already existing road is there , if bengaluru Mangaluru express highway planed and completed then More than 50 kilo metres distance save agutte , petrol diesel save aguutte, travel time 3 hours save agutte , shiradi land slide problem solve agutte. , better connectivity sigutte , express highway both side industries develop agutte , many crores of rupees save aguutte I suggest the government if India and national highways authority of india complete the said bengaluru mangaluru high speed expressway as early as possible
What the difference between gati shakthi and bharatmaala?
Gati Shakti will have separate team under PMO also under railways/nhai/.. whose work is to coordinate with all departments at ground to make sure work to be fasttracked. whereas bharatmaala is NHAIs naming convention for almost all highways which completely owned by NHAIs(not state PWD coordinated) and apart from coastal ones. And bharatmala projects can also come under gati shakti
As Mangalorian we have no trust on these . Iam pretty sure even after 10 years this project will remain on paper only just like shiradi ghat tunnel project. It will be better if they complete the current highway work instead of going to another project

Expressways will help logistics and reduce traffic on existing highways.
In existing highways where 2W, Cars & Trucks/Logistics are creating lot of issues(traffic/accidents). Expressways will take away logistics & car traffic, while 2W and local traffic an use regular highways without any issues
