I remember stealing this album when I was 12 years old. I have never regretted it. Later the album was stolen from me!!! Ill gotten gains!!! I now own it on vinyl, cassette tape and CD - I do not intend to EVER be without this album again!!!
Yes....how could you not be mad about 'er
Elegant, classy rendition; elegant, classy lady. Thanks for posting.
This set is marvelous. Many times George Shearing is overlooked in jazz annals. He was a very influential musician in his time (and also the time of my youth). Love this. thanks for the post.
Armando Peraza afro cuban version is sensational...A much underrated musician...He added Spice to this Cole porter number...Brilliant !!
A wonderful and atmospheric performance from both Peggy and George Shearing in 1959. But, the audience background noises were added later by Capitol studios technicians. A CD has been issued of the original studio recording without the audience.
in every way excellent
Elegant, classy and HOT!
My favorite rendition of "Always True To You In My Fashion". Thank you for posting this!!
Thank you so much for posting these three videos. Excellent job of providing song and musician info as well. It's a delight!
you blew in from the Middle West
Two of the greatest producing one of the greatest. Like the other contributer, I'll never be without this album. However, I'm sure my original vinyl (which incidentally was stolen!!!!) had an orchestral track featuring Shearing entitled something like 'Blue Autumn' or Autumn something which unfortunately is not on the CD.
