😆 don’t they just make you wanna take them out and play with them 🤗 so playful like a puppy literally. Get so excited to see you and follow can’t help but sit by the tank and play with them.

Oscars definitely have one of the best personalities!! Mine recognizes the food bag from quite a distance just like how a dog would act !

My Oscar gets so excited when he sees me grab the container of food and then he gets grumpy and looks at the food when I drop them in and then he swims away and sits down at the bottom and he used to bite and now he’s super sweet and never bites
My tiger Oscar gets really aggressive and excited when I feed him, there's this moment when I tried to hand feed my Oscar then he bit me and it really hurts a lot, now I only use spoon when I feed my Oscar 😅😊 and BTW he's turning 3yrs old this year ❤️
I bought an Oscar for my 175 gallon about a month ago and he already lets me hand feed him it’s so cute lol. And he grew like 2 inches in a month. Fastest I’ve seen an Oscar grow
My best friend’s dad had two oscars in a giant tank. I think he was really attached to them because he never kept any more fish after they finally passed away of old age.

I had an oscar as a childhood pet before I could have a dog! It's so crazy to me that people don't know how intelligent and communicative these fish are. Puts a lot into perspective. Now I'm debating on having another large fish tank again xD Loved your in depth info on these guys.
Very smart fish yrs go when mine where little i hung a bell over there tank and rang if every feeding time after 4-5 months when they where hungry they would swim up to the bell and ring it.
I am SO going to teach that to my fish!

I got a oscar in my tank right now, and when i bought him i thought he was dying, but the workers said he is just a cry baby when you dont feed him in the morning he will go on side and sit in the top corner of the tank and just wait for food while on his side. and i just laughed out loud. he actually does this to me too if i dont feed him nearly at the same time! he also loves hand feeding, he circles my fingers and just strikes haha

Been feeding my oscars a variety. Flakes, pellets, baby guppies, baby meal and super worms. Sometimes full grown meal worms. It's funny to watch them swim around with a meal worm sticking out of their mouths.

My cichlids are similar to my terrier dog. The brains and courage of the fish world. Other fish don't seem to be visibly thinking about things and working out how to get what they want. I find my larger Pink Convict watches me a lot. Even my GBRams have smarts.
Bettas are like the miniature version of Oscar. My female betta flare and bite new deco i put in the tank. Sometimes she just gets moody and chases her tank mates. Can be hand fed too, i would stick a small piece of shrimp meat on my finger hovering on top of the tank and let my betta jump up to get the food.

I only keep fish that have some sort of personality. I have a betta, a three spot gourami, and some goldfish don't worry, all are in different tanks. Liked your video🙂
My oscar is really spoiled like she doesnt want tank mates. Its so funny that her eyes will focus on me when shes angry shes kinnda cute
Even though this video is 4 years old it helped me with my new baby albino oscar that I got with my other baby tiger oscar. The albino is new so that on hangs out in the corner like you said and the other one is always super happy and at the front of the tank

I have two tanks across from each other. One has my Oscar. The other has about a dozen bigger goldfish. Anytime the
Goldfish light is on my Oscar will sulk and do nothing till the light is off.
I kid you not, my oscar, Jared, watches me play call of duty, and every time I start shooting at something he starts having a temper tantrum XDDDD

Aw. Mine just started laying around, acting all dumpy today, and I think he is still annoyed with me for moving some of the decor in the tank (his room, lol) during the last water change yesterday. Usually, he loves to swim around and watch me do things, and is excited to see me.
I think it’s adorable that they sulk! Seriously tempted to add one to my community Sth American when I upgrade to 180g - just slightly worried they’d eat my 2 keyholes!
Had Oscars before, wish I had known what I know now. Great video. Unfortunately I live in Korea now so I don't think there are any Oscars in my future. I miss them as I think they are the best fish.

I forgot to give my oscar cricket food instead i just feed him with pellets the oscar eat it and then spit it out then look at me like a guilt face
I gave mine crickets the other day. Now he thinks the air bubbles are crickets and won't eat anything else.

When I moved my angelfish to a smaller plastic container when I was doing relocation. He sat at the bottom of the tank and looked depressed and pissed for 2 days.
Great Video! I was wondering are those holes in your oscar from hole in the head or are those sensory pits? Mine has them too, but they don't look like wounds, and he is acting completely normal. Eats like a pig too. Thanks again for making this great video!

Hi,im new to the hobby, i want to ask,why my oscar just swim at the top of tank and didnt eat the worms cube and pellets that i give,is it any trouble with it or?it have didnt eat like 5days,maybe more.
Can anyone tell me how long it should take to get my Oscar eating pellets? He started off with live guppies but I'm trying to switch the diet. It's been a week since the live food and he's only had like 2 dry pellets
My lemon Oscar get sulky and always sitting at the bottom of the tank, after I had introduced another Oscar a red one to him/her. Not 100% sure though the cause of his/her sulkiness is due to the new Oscar that came in. Still monitoring, hope she could get over her depression in a few days or a week.

your video and you definitely have an subscriber, question: I just purchased a adult Oscar, how long does it take for him to get used to the tank? It’s only been one day, he’s just sulking in the corner, not really moving around, the PH in the water is perfect, water temperature at 78-80 degrees, pet store said give him a few days and he’ll start eating
It can sometimes take 4-5 days. Once they get hungry and learn that you are the food source, they will open up.

My oscar is a baby, about two inches right now, and has a weird swimming pattern. I previously had a green severum in there with him that i bought at the same time from petsmart. I found that he had been aggressive towards the severum that i had previously mistaken as affection for one another (they were always swimming next to each other and "cuddling" in the corner together). I have had them separated for about two weeks now and he seems to swim a bit erratically. He swims up and down and back in forth all day and i am not sure if maybe he is bored or sick or just a high energy puppy. his tank is in my office and i am working from home so i am not sure if this is just because i am in there with him and he is recognizing me? any thoughts as to this sort of swimming behavior? Thank you!

Hi Sir, I wanna ask you. I've seen 5pcs 20cm Oscars in a pet shop for a while now they seem to get along well and I can afford to buy them all.
Is it a good idea to buy them all and put on a 120cm tank? I just worry if they'd kill each other later on. Thanks!
Just got a full grown oscar, he been on the side in the corner for 2 days now. He watch the food drop from top to bottom beside him, go to it as if to sniff then back away back to its side. Been worried so here i am.

I was amazed by how smart my Tiger Oscar was . When I came home from work if I didn't sit down and thump the side of the tank , holy crap did it get mad . Molly ( her name ) would trash her tank and thump against the tank . She was a reject I took in , she had" Hole In The Head " disease and finally got so bad I had her put down .
Mine have hole in the head. I keep treating it but it doesn't really improve
I have two Oscar's that show breeding signs but I'm jot positive however one is swimming real crazy at the glass and moving the gravel causing the bottom of the tank.
I have tiger oscar but they won't allow any fish to hang with them they killed even there same breed.. i tried many fishes with them but everything failed..help me in this issue

Thank you! I would not recommend it, but I have seen it work before. It depends on many factors including tank size, types of fish, Oscar personalities, etc.

My oscar is about 4 months old and keeps chasing his reflection in the glass its like he's addicted its all he does when i turn the light on. And I just noticed yesterday he's bottom jaw is a little crooked. Its only him in the tank with no decorations 😕
I had an Oscar for 2 years, gave him toys etc messed around with him a lot, had to leave for 45 days while I was gone my son said our Oscar named cheeseburger 🍔 would not eat anymore he sadly didn’t hold till I came back.

Plz help.. i bought an Oscar 2 days ago , all my parameters are up to par he’s by himself in a 75 gallon tank with just an area where he can hide in the corner. He won’t really eat pellets or feeders , and he’s super scared of me and goes and lays near his hide everytime i come.. do you think he just needs some more time to adjust?

Nope. Maybe you're over fed your fish, or maybe your Oscar is new to your aquarium so it need time to get the surrounding the tank

The Oscar I jumped on is tame. He'll drop to the bottom and swim kind of on his side until he gets a petting. It's pretty incredible. I've been researching Oscar behavior but it's so limited. I just came in this video because my oscar sometimes seems like he is literally DYING... the other day I put some new rocks in the aquarium and he was literally almost dead i had to take the rocks out ... today o found him like in a weird position.... omg is gonna drive me crazy
