    Doc goes over organic lawn fertilizers and why we don't use them while the temps are still cool. Understanding organic matter will help you time the applications for the best results.

    Just laid down everything from the jumpstart program, plus humichar, plus some of the chicken crush for organic matter. It frosted this morning but we’ve got so much rain predicted in the extended forecast I had to take advantage of the next 4 dry days to try and get it into the soil with minimal leaching. Sub optimal, but as optimal as I think I’m going to have this year. First year following the lawn guide, so I’m ready to take on the challenge!

    Really appreciate your info and Really like the Anderson products. We have used them on my grass farm years ago. That said, several products Anderson has specifically super juice has priced itself out of range for many. Sad.

    I’m new to the channel but I’m loving it so far. I need some help. I’m in a newly constructed house and have poor soil. I’m getting the lot sodded with tall fescue tomorrow. I want to start treating the grass like royalty right away. How should I feed and water this tall fescue with the crappy soil? I’m in beavercreek Ohio which is about 55 miles north on Cincinnati. Should I go with the pgf complete then the dirt booster maybe? Please advise if you will? Thanks Bill😂

    In central NH my lawn has tons of worm castings in the spring. I assume that’s a good thing since they aerate the soil and the castings act as nutrients. I used to like using milorganite but it’s gotten too expensive, so I’ve been using Ammonia, dish soap, beer, and corn syrup in a hose end sprayer and that’s been working pretty well. I’d like to try “ dirt booster” but where can I find it?

    Doc is right, but clearly location matters. Georgia is much more 4-season than SE Texas. Half of our February was at or over 80°F and a record 84°F yesterday. I put organic out in advance of tonight's overnight rain. As a green-up I don't find organics nearly as effective as high nitrogen chemical based fertilizer, but clearly their benefit comes from soil remediation and the introduction of beneficial microbes. I typically alternate organic/chem throughout the term of the growing season.

      Cold is relative. Above freezing soil temperatures is more than good enough for an organic to be broken down.
      You can give a kick of urea and As to get the ball rolling.

    Help from Doc or anyone. I watch Doc's videos and follow his suggestions but I have one problem. I have about 29,000 sq. ft. of Bermuda sod I need to treat. I can't afford to buy all the recommended Anderson's products that cover around 5000 sq. ft. per bag. Just too expensive for the amount of area I need to cover. What am I to do? Any recommendations? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem so any feedback is welcome.

    Doesn’t the synthetic fertilizer hurt your soil? Is it the only way when it’s cold to get green? If so maybe we should change the paradigm when soil and earth worms are king.

    I put 5 bags of Milo on 7500 sq ft (back yard only) 2 days before this video and I thought I screwed up lol Well it turns out my back is out preforming the front which I didnt do after watching this video. I quess it worked because we had many many 80+ degree days in Feb-Mar. I got lucky

    The video title says organic but it seems like Dirt Booster used the term “all-natural” and avoids saying organic. Can you clarify?

    • @HowTowithDoc
      @HowTowithDoc  Před rokem +1

      Sure... the term "organic" can not be used on packaging unless it is certified OMRI. It can't be certified due to the varying make up of the corn distillates from day to day.

Does he not want to scalp and thinks burning his brown grass is an easier way to prepare for the season? I've never heard of this before. Please make it make sense!
