    Thing with munition warners - they don't have infinite spotting range, and CRAMs you were testing against had flash suppression barrels which severely reduces their detection range. Same goes for missiles, though you can detect them from MUCH further away with passive radar - provided that it's radar missiles that are being fired at you.

    • @Lathland
      @Lathland  Před 2 lety +70

      I think this shows that taking long breaks from FtD is not a great thing! I used passive radars a LOT in the latest adventure mode playthrough and just completely forgot about them when recording this!

    • @JabberwockOclock
      @JabberwockOclock Před 2 lety +3

      @@Lathland You also don't need an AI connection for Munition Warners anymore, you can just slap them down anywhere with vision out of the vehicle. Same for anything else in the Defense tab when it comes to AI.

  • @DawnTyrantEo
    @DawnTyrantEo Před 2 lety +151

    One thing that might help- for an animal (or spooky drunken robot in this case) that relies entirely on walking and has no air time in its fastest gait, longer thighs than shins let them swing their legs further and thus speed them up. You can see this in animals such as elephants, long-necked dinosaurs and stegosaurs!
    For something with airtime (ie can run rather than powerwalk), it'd be the other way around, with short thighs and long shins. Making a biped walker that can get airtime would be a tad hard, but perhaps hopping on two legs or bounding on four legs could work? In real life animals often use tails as a counterweight to help them turn, but judicious application of PIDs and thrusters might be easier in FtD. (there is no way in which making a kangaroobot in FtD is a bad idea)

    Aside from the rotation speed of the munition warners, another reason could be different shells and weapon projectiles have different detection radii. Stuff like small aps and small cram are harder to detect than hardened cram and large APS even if your setup is already perfect.

    • @zeash482
