he did it with no mobile phone no sat nav no heater I am a old retired Lorry driver and.i drove this old moters in uk and that was hard enough R I P son
gordon teached me how to reverse the A frame drags when we worked at tuffnells before he retired . to this day when someone comments on my reversing the drags i tell them about gordon and what a gentleman he was
When a lorry driver makes that kind of yourneys in a time like that whit a truck like the old AEC on his own not in a convoy then you can only have the greatest respect.I am a HGV driver myself and my father before me.I have traveled many countrys the past 35 years but this make me very humble. The dont make lorry drivers like that annymore. All respect and may you rest in peace MR Pearce
Watching this film made me think of my time I work with him at truffles in erith Kent the man was so amazing and tell tales of the journeys there office was in Chislehurst above the butchers shop rip
I learned about how hard it was by observing internatinal truckers on a bus trip in eastern turkey in the 70,s The tahir pass was a deadly road in summer in the winter you cant see the where the road goes .lots of trucks meet there final rest stop here
Most of the drivers coming through now wouldn't have a clue how to drive a truck like that and in those conditions there just steering wheel attendants
