The beauty of Wacken is the crowd is big and loves metal regardless of which time slot you get
You should have been in John Smith rock festival in Finland two or was it three years ago. Amorphis was the main event for that evening. The festival itself was held in a small town with a beautiful lake right behind the stage and and midnight sun was setting behind them. The feeling was just unreal.

They had a night spot this year. Not on the main stage, but at least they got their 85 mins to play.
It's impressive how Tomi can transitate between clean vocals and growls.
The switch of Tomi's voice from clear singing and the growling and back again is bombastic! For me he is the best singer in the world. He is amazing
I was here right near the front and got to meet them shortly after. Amazing and super friendly guys and so badass live 🤟🏻 can’t wait to see them supporting Nightwish in December

I saw these guys with DARK TRANQUILLITY and OMNIUM GATHERUM this same year in Hollywood at the whisky a go go.

Man, there is no reason why this band should not be bigger in the world of rock. They're just so good! Death metal can sometimes be a bit too samey and rehashed nowadays, so to have a great and totally original take on it is awesome. Not many can blend the death metal harshness and heaviness with stunning beauty quite like they can.
They are living legends, the ancestor of melodic death metal.
It's true. They've been at it for a while. And _yet_ ...I don't know how many people partial to Rock or even Metal would know of them. I don't think any of my friends who love heavy music would know them and I don't think any of my co-workers who love heavy stuff would either. :/
Then again, I'm from the US and I'm sure they are bigger in Europe than here.

@@SuperRoo_22 their discography is quite short, so you'll manage to listen it all. But if you are more into classic melodic death metal, I would recommend to start with their first album (self-titled Wintersun) and if you're more into epic orchestration stuff, start with Time I album! You won't regret. I would appreciate If you shared your opinion after listening. Cheers!

I have never given Amorphis a chance: but after viewing this Wacken footage...I have some work to do and listen to the their music catalog. I am fully aware of "Tales from a Thousand Lakes."....but that was 1994
