2024 Early activity

A group of volunteers builds nesting boxes for barn owls, one of which was monitored in 2024. The male owl brought a steady stream of food to his mate through January and February as she incubated her eggs. Unfortunately the camera batteries died very quickly, so we did lost a bunch of recording time. The clip at the end was taken with a "spy camera" when our wildlife biologist colleague counted how many eggs had hatched (4). We installed new batteries in the main video camera and resumed recording when our wildlife biologist colleague banded the owlets. The banding photos were from a nearby nest box.
