There have been too many pros and cons for MM and MP for a long time. However, it cannot be denied, MP is a natural monster for this super group. He is the life of this group. It's sweet, without artificial sweeteners. And for more adaptation? It's just a matter of time ;)
I was at the first Mangini's gig in Rome.. That was awesome. The most emotional part to me was when the made two or three mistakes.. That brought them back among us mortals.. I really hope the will start the new tour from here
I had the pleasure of seeing Portnoy in clinic... He didn't do clinics very often back then... Was amazing... He started with some LTE...

Lol, that Kevin Moore diss is more a jab at him because he sort of went the minimalist route (part of the reason he left DT) and when they worked together on OSI Kevin not only took creative leadership but also took a lot of Mike's drums and cut them and processed them resulting in a very different product than what Mike thought the project was going to be
I’m a big fan of OSI! Love the 2 albums with Mike but my fav is Blood, with Gavin Harrison. The title track is so cool 🤘

Mike just wanted to take a break, and to tell you the truth, The whole band should have taken a break. The rest of the band wanted to carry on, Simple as that. I'm so glad he has returned to his rightful throne...
Well, I guess that was the “official” reason but Mike clearly talked about BS of the past and the fact he didn’t speak to LaBrie for ten years I think proves the truth is different. Anyway, finally they reunited so hopefully they’ll have more years of good music to offer 🤟
I felt the same way, they were sounding stale and I was losing interest. Can’t wait to hear new music with Mike and honestly after the last 2 shows I saw, it’s time to rethink James

I love Portnoy but let’s face the truth. Portnoy left the band and his solo careen didn’t took off, while DT run out of deas and La Brie definitely lost his voice. So Mike is back, new album is coming and a new tour will attract the whole fan base. Unfortunately DT won’t be better though.
I agree there was a mutual interest to bring him back, but honestly I think DT needed Mike more than Mike needed DT. Mike has had multiple bands and toured the world during all those years, plus he makes money from sponsorships with his affiliate brands (Tama, Sabian, Promark…) so I guess he was doing just fine.
Bringing him back to DT was a great marketing move for the band. The views count on those Drumeo videos prove that.

@@WePlayTheBeatles sei Italiano! 🤗 Guarda, sono d'accordo su LaBrie. Mi spiace, ha registrato dei capolavori ma sono anni ormai che dal vivo non è più all'altezza. Per il resto, vedremo cosa tirano fuori. Sinceramente ho perso interesse dopo ADTOE, non ho ascoltato gli album successivi con Mangini. Con Portnoy che torna le cose sono diverse, per me è più una questione affettiva. Ho iniziato a suonare grazie a lui. Spero che non saremo scontenti del nuovo corso. Nel caso, penso potremo gustarci i tour celebrativi dei vecchi album, come fanno gli U2 😆
