If you want to save space, use a pair of lash straps to hold the tent on your front handlebars. I just did 550 miles up to Canada and it ended up giving me way more room. You can usually get a cheap pair in any hardware store.

A relatively cheap option would be to buy a kids buggy/stroller for bikes. Easy to attach and would hold all your gear. I have one for one of my e-bikes when I head away for day or two.

The sidewall of the tire usually will say the max recommended psi. (Or Google the tire specs) I would even go a few psi more than the max recommended. It will be fine. The higher the psi, the less the rolling resistance. Which will improve MPG. "Miles Per Watts" actually. The kid wanted you to do a wheelie, that's what that means.
Hopefully once the weather improves and not so cold you get more KM out of the battery. The fact it is double what you had and it is only getting 50 the cold is really impacting you
And studded tires and solid travel insurance package (besides the obvious warm clothing and heating devices)...When real winter starts (with snow and ice , even occasionally) , these second order roads , or B roads (speed limit up to 80 km/h) will be death traps and the back/dirt roads can be un -passable (snow drifts , big iced puddles , invisible holes , covered with snow ...). With only wet conditions on the road (never mind the heavy rains , which are common in the autumn/fall ) , he will loose some efficiency on lost traction (smaller range) + much colder weather will shorten his range even more (not to mention hills and strong winds). Chain and all the parts will be dirty and muddy and salt from road can make havoc with running gear of the bike(s). Generally , besides one jacket and the gloves/mittens , Nate isn't geared up for winter outdoorsy adventure . I don't think it's even viable , unless he plans his trip in short "jumps" of 30 miles , or so , with in advance secured shelter on the next stop (with electricity , of course). We'll see , how things will develop...

These men commenting shitty things think women are too prissy for this type of adventure. I for one would love to join in something like this! But Nate posts same day a lot of the time, being open about his current location and his future journey destinations. It’s just not safe as a woman to have these details on the internet. Maybe a more discreet approach would be safer. Nicole, and/or people close to her may have pointed out that there is a danger to having nearly every move broadcasted to 10s of thousands of people, some being men who seriously hate women. Not saying what she did was right, but doesn’t mean it was a thoughtless decision.

80 km is not a highway its a normal speed for roads out the city. On highways its 100-130 maxium.
