On July 22, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey of India 2023-24, along with a statistical appendix, to both Houses of Parliament. The survey highlighted a positive outlook for India's financial sector but cautioned about potential vulnerabilities. It described the sector as being at a "turnpike moment," noting a shift away from banking support for credit and an increasing role of capital markets. Sitharaman is scheduled to deliver the Union Budget for 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on July 23.
