Johnny Ramone, on the other hand, is described as mean, bullying, and difficult to work with by his former bandmates. Marky Ramone did say that there needed to be someone who'd crack the whip and get guys like Dee Dee and Joey in line, and Johnny was happy to play the heavy.

Anyway, when this happened RHCP were still in the early part of their journey, on the upslope, when a band is an art project and it's about fun. The Ramones were long since out of that phase when this happened. The post peak, "it's just a business" phase, when a band really isn't creating anything new and interesting any more and just sort of performing to pay the bills and remind everyone they still exist. It IS bizarre. That's why nobody except The Ramones ever did that.
For 99.99% of musicians it's unthinkable, because for bands who aren't run by a sociopathic fascistic drill sergeant wannabe, there's a strict rule: If you have to rehearse your set or practise your guitar solos in the dressing room before the show, you've screwed up royally. You should be able to play your stuff in your sleep at that point. That's what rehearsals before a tour are for. If you want to try new stuff in the middle of a tour, you rehearse it at the soundchecks, not directly before the gig. You usually don't play anything you're going to play on stage while your're warming up. Because if you screw it up during the warm-up, it takes your confidence and security away for the moment it really counts, in front of a paying audience.

@@henrygvidonas9573 Nobody does it because firstly they don't have the endurance to do it and secondly because of a kind of secrecy and narcissism.
