When at war even midjets are admited to fight. I think height requirement is only for keeping an image of strength and power for the army. It's a lot more intimidating a 190cm strong guy than a skinny 160cm dude even though the shorter one can be a better soldier overall. Close fights are rare this days so using a fire gun and being able to keep mental control and stamina are a lot more important. A bullet kills the same way regardless body size.

This is not a good criteria for considering height.A students belongs to sc and st with less height be considered fit for the same post as a general candidate having more than its height is found to be disqualified.It is a humiliation of human rights.
No it's not humiliation. Usually STs has short height due to genes...bcz for they're ancestors lived in forests for long so they didn't got Mingle with other gene.... same thing applies for north east indian ppl!

I agree with you, but it seems like in India, joining the army is easy, everyone can easily join the army and get paid for it, hence the Indian army made it difficult to only accept the tall and strong men. So that the tax money is spent well and not too many people will join due to overcrowding and under paying army people due to many men in the forces. It’s a smart thing to do. The army should also test who are the smartest in the army and use the smart men for engineering or for controlling important roles in the army, this way strongest men will not be a requirement but smartness got them in. Overall Indian people are generally smart so I guess Indian military just want strongest men but I see this as a bad strategic and barbaric move and will cost the Indian military from ever winning a war.
