The lord of the underworld, Hades, is trying to steal the life of a young girl by the name of Anastasia but her will is to strong for him to break. At a loss, he goes to his brother Thrax for help. Thrax is angered by this because he hates his brother Hades for his own reasons.
Shortly after her birthday Anya is out playing in a park when she is approached by a dark stranger. Thrax threatens to end her life there with his claw but instead of crying for help, Anya stands her ground in the face of death himself. Entertained by her attitude, fiery spirit, and the ability to anger Hades. He keeps her alive and becomes a protector over her and they form a close bond.
As time passes, Anya ages from a young girl into a beautiful woman, enticing Thrax with her looks. They spend a lot of time together, eventually falling in love with one another. Hades watches from afar in the underworld, beyond infuriated by his brother.
But as the days give way into years Anya ages, she realizes that she'll die and prays to the heavens, begging God to allow her man into heaven even though he's a demon. She eventually becomes an old aching soul. Hades senses her weakening will to live and spirits her away. Leaving Thrax alone without his beloved Anastasia.
