This cop has a REALLY slick mouth.
Man this kid could’ve easily killed himself or someone else going that fast. It’s a complete disregard for life. Could the cop have been more polite? Sure but when you’ve seen people die or severely injured from things like this, especially young people, it would piss you off too. The officer eventually calmed down and kudos to Hollywood for being respectful. He didn’t have to let him make a phone call from the squad car but he did. Hopefully this is a lesson learned for Brown and I’m glad nobody got hurt.

The same thing happened to me when I was 18 and I got caught doing 80 in a 40 on a country road. Luckily I wasn’t arrested, but my ticket was bank.

But going that fast can kill somebody. Look at the Ruggs case if you don't believe me. Marquise was being very reckless, even on a near empty road. He was very respectful to the cop though. I've seen a lot of these videos where the people are pure holes.
When cops see what happen to people who drive and what they do to others on theses roads, of course he's going g to be upset. Less that a mile from me is still damage from a man going well over a 100. His car was tuna canned into a pole, and burnt to a crisp. Ask his family if he would've rather been hassled by a cop and sent to jail for an evening instead of dead and leaving behind him 8 traffic cones of where he died?

This young man has exceptional manors and even tho he had bad judgment in speeding I'm very impressed with how he handled this situation. The cop needs to learn how to take a deep breath and control his emotions....after a few seconds you could tell this was a kind respectful young man yet the cop told him to move his ass like he was an animal.
Some people need someone to be hard on them. Brown was being insanely reckless. Maybe being rude will make an impact. Next time he's behind the wheel he might think twice about driving crazy. That cop might have prevented him from becoming the next Henry Ruggs. People so worried about someone being rude to them and ignore the reason why that cop was rude in the 1st place. No excuse for doing 120mph. Guaranteed that cop has seen multiple fatalities from reckless driving and he might have saved someone's life that day, Brown's or someone elses.

Just my dumb observations: 1. cop was kind of shitty at first but seems to have calmed down because Marquise Brown was calm; 2. Marquise Brown was calm, good on him, saved himself a lot trouble; 3. Marquise Brown said, "I'm new here," a couple of times, which was like, okay dude, you new to the planet? 126, using the carpool lane, you're not too new to know that's not right. Brown is from Hollywood, FL, they have carpool lanes and speed limits in Broward County.
It's pretty annoying that a cop can come at you real aggressively and potentially escalate the situation by doing that. It takes a special kind of person to basically defuse or deescalate that situation with a cop, which should be the cop's job, not the guy getting arrested! Sure, he still got arrested, but that's not the worst thing that could have happened here. I'd say it was fair since he was going 126.

You can easily get to 80mph on a highway due to less traffic, but yes 126 mph is unacceptable unless he has a family emergency and he maybe was enjoying a day on the open road. For speeding even at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone, I have witnessed cops acting like this and especially to drivers of color.

Look I’m not necessarily complaining about how the cop acted. His behavior was what really badly self centered people act like. Really badly self centered people subconsciously behave as though any offense that happens in the world is a direct attack on them personally. They’re not actively rationalizing it as a personal attack, but they’re so lost in self absorption that they treat every offense that way without thinking about it. A lot of people behave like that and get along in life fine.

I think the fastest was between 80mph to 115mph from N.C. to Philly way back in ‘03. My Mom snapped on me!, I slowed down not because of that, but multiple speeding tickets later. I feel you though, he had that officer 👮♀️ HEATED🔥! 😅

It's always easier just to stay calm and comply... you'll get a chance to tell your story in court if needed
