Indeed, in my youth before WW2 I never dreamt that we could communiate all over the world. I dreamt, though, to have a house once in which I would show movies to audiences. It did materialize, but in a form I didn't foresee !

Awesome... That's Prai wharf and railway station and jetty... These are some of the place I used to roam about as young boy in the late 1960s.... Brings back fond memories sir. Thank you for the upload. GBU.

Wow! :) Such great videos you have here!! :) My mother was not even born yet, and not many people in Malaya could afford to buy camcorders (or however they were called at that time), let alone converting them into digital version and uploading them on CZcams! :) Such a rare footage of our country's rural area in the past! :) Thanks a lot! :)

Wah Nasi Pecel juga tradisional di Thai. Mengingatkan saya pada pengasong serupa di kereta api Jawa tahun hingga 80an.

That's not Port Swettenham but Butterworth old ferry terminal which near to the old railway station, from there you have to take a ferry to penang island at Malayan Railway Jetty just opposite the Clock tower building (Cable Office).

I think at the end of the clip are scenes on Penang Island

Surat Thani used to be known as Jaya (Or perhaps Cahaya) during the Srivijayan era. There are still many Malays in southern Thailand in the present day. Those above 70 as of the moment can still speak Malay. The young ones in places like Setul (Satun), Terang (Trang), Ligor/Negara Sri Dharmaraja (Nakhon Si Thammarat), and Singgora (Songkhla), unfortunately, have become "Thai Muslims", knowing only Thai.

Great. Interesting to see the trains haven't really changed. In Bangkok these carriages are still used. Prices are still low. A 30 min journey in Bangkok from Klong tan to Hualumpong still only costs 6 UK pence.

The jetty should be Perai instead of Port Swettenham.Butterworth jetty didn't exist yet at that time.Kobah station was demolished long time ago. Thanks for the rare view of Kobah station.
