It's great to see somone discovering this awsome game. Many of us think it's the best in the entire NFS series.
Some helpful tips for you:
Go to the control options, and then the Force Feedback section. You can turn down the road effects if they make your wheel rumble all the time. The force feedback is amazing in this game. It really helps you feel what the car is doing, it's weight, grip and momentum. You definitely should turn it back on - just adjust the levels to your liking. Reduce those annoying road effects, and with a good wheel, it takes the game to the next level in terms of immersion, feedback and control.
To beat the other cars you need to upgrade your car.
You can buy and install upgraded parts, and even adjust your cars' ride heght and stiffeness. This makes a huge difference to the performance and handeling - with an upgraded car, you can ckick their asses and make some real money.
And don't froget to repair your car after races. The damage can effect your porfarmance a lot. That may be why you found it harder to win; your car was damaged and not upgraded.
There is a second hand (used car) market. You can buy cars cheap, fix them up and sell them for profit - or just keep some of the ones you like and race them. I made big money doing that, and filled my stable with Porsches. :)
This game actually has 2 "carreer" modes! Apart from Evolution, there is also Factory Driver.
You take the role of a factrory driver working for Porsche. You get to learn some very usful advanced drving techniques that really help you to master the cars and the game. You get to drive some of the latest Porsches in various challanges - some of which even have you outrunning the cops.
You can also unlock and win some special edition Porsches, to add to your collection.
It really is a great game. Explore it. There are plenty more cars and tracks to unlock.

@@SkiStam How did you make your T150 work in this game? My T300RS doesnt work, game sees its buttons and axis' but it doesnt react to the axix, so I cannot use gas, brake or clutch pedals, and cannot steeri with the wheel.
@@SkiStam Same on gamepads, only 0-1 buttons work, axix do not.

How exactly did you set the wheel up? My T150 doesn't want to turn and accelerate.

Great video! I'm trying to get this game to work on my computer but i don't have a CD drive. I've tried doing online downloads and such but they have not worked. No audio, no additional cars, no intro, and it crashes when I try to do a race or go into Porsche Chronicles. I've tried compatibility modes, but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
I've actually completed this game before- if you want to keep up then upgrade your car! You already know the history of Porsche's, since we live in 2017 lol so you could've gotten a 356C and waited for the 911S to come out. In addition, you can go to the used cars, fix them up, and sell them for a profit. It's free money. Or don't fix them or only fix a few things and sell it for a profit. Easy way to get cash if races aren't working out.
