    This is a great stand, period! It's lightweight, climbs easy czcams.com/users/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs and feels solid while in the tree. The seat is easy to fold up for climbing and sits comfortably for long days in the woods. The only downside I have is that it might be too comfortable, but I like napping in the tree anyway. This is the second Summit Viper I have owned. The old one is steel making it heavier, but this aluminum version is about 9-10 lbs lighter. I recommend buying a better fall harness as the one included is clunky and not super comfortable. I think it will work fine if you NEED to use it, but there are lots of other more comfortable options out there.

I don’t know how severe your shoulder is, but 40 pounds shouldn’t be a lot with a good bow with a lot of letoff with these bows now a-days. Just make sure your have 400spine+ arrows, 400 grain and up, and the most important FIXED broadheads!

    You guys need to get up there higher with your bow stands. We like to put ours around 25 to 30 feet up we use hang on stands and pegs. Tho we have a few on our property that is just a ladder like you would get from home depot just strapped to the tree and the deer do not mind it. But the advantages from being up so high is you can get away with a little bit more movement. Your not as likely to be seen. And depending on where the location of the stand is its better for the wind. Just make sure you wear a safty harness lol. In the past 4 seasons we have taken 3 bucks over 150 inches and countless doe. I wouldn't call myself an expert but im 22 and haven't missed a hunting season since i was probably 5 and been bow hunting by myself since 14. Good luck out there to everyone this season

    These tree stands are so much more elaborate than the one I used in Canada for my trip bear spearing. On that adventure to the Raven Lodge we had to sit on a little swing out metal seat about 8 feet above the ground, holding a spear with a 3 foot blade. Corn was spread under the tree and both boars and bears were drawn in. The thing that made this ambush hunt fair was that the tree stand chair was not out of reach of the bears--IF they STOOD UP--the thing that made it safe was that you had to be quiet and still--even while moving the spear into position once the prey arrived. It was exhilarating and I urge EVERYONE to try it. Raven Lodge also offers a lake and stream for fishing. Chiefly, cut-throat, and Pike. Since you have to fly in and land on the the lake in the Raven Lodge's own sea plane, you can also organize trips further north for bigger game like Musk Ox and Caribou.

  • @CZ75AL
    @CZ75AL Před 2 lety

    I always put my ratchet strap on the stand before I stand it up so all I have to do is put the tail end into the handle and tighten it down and my stands have 2 straps that you cross behind the tree and tie back to the ladder plus a stabilizing bar that goes towards the middle of the ladder back to the tree to keep the ladder straight and still.

    Flair it’s multiple ways to put up the stand safer , use a ladder on the other side of the tree so you can climb and ratchet strap the stop with atleast 2 straps then come down put the center pole on the tree and strap that . You can use another ladder climb up if you have the side by side with a wench throw the cable over a sturdy limb connect it to the stand and pull up . Also you could throw it up like y’all did tie a strap or rope around the stand to a tree so it won’t fall back and have your buddies hold it against the tree for extra support

    You should take a look at the hunter safety system lifeline. It keeps you secure from the ground till your in the stand

    On your single ladder stands, get a lock-on to hang above them for someone to film the guy in the ladder. Also put some 2x4s at the base of your ladders to help stablize them more. Ladder stands are good for easy climbing but they have a tendancy to shift ever so lightly, which means noise. NOT what you want when the big boy is within bow range.

    Maybe u could take some of the ladder length off the tree blinds so they aren't sketchy sky scrapers.

    Saddle hunt the ranch! I started last year and feel safer than a ladder stand because I always have good rope tethering me to the tree

    There are brace bars that are supposed to go from the ladder to the tree about half way up those stands. Like they are now they are not strong enough in the middle and may bend and collapse.
