You could also try to hold the crimper about 2 inches down from the root to avoid the McDonald’s M look when the part is in the middle

What heat setting did you use on this waver?
I am late to this party. I have naturally wavy hair that is naturally crimped. That said , the roots are straight and the wave is not great on it’s own , unless I am at the ocean , so I curl it mostly on the roots , so I am trying this With my natural wave. I won’t have to do too much with it but it may be cute and easy.
