People who watch his family are mostly females, who wouldn’t be interested in violence. Why did he think he would be able to convince a young female audience to purchase $50 tickets? He would have a better time selling makeup and dolls.
Also, I am willing to bet. Majority of the ticket sales were in support of 2 fighter. Deji and Gib. I can’t see anyone knowing those other nobodies. I believe they also had a large female following unlike GIB and Deji.

@NOTME What you said is cap. Like Robert Ellin said, 98% of PPV sales are from cable/satellite. Nate Robinson is HUGE in that area, and after Jake knocked him out the way he did elevated his reputation in that area. Ben Askren is also popular in that area as well, which helped pushed PPV’s.
Also, why the hell would SHOWTIME sign a contract with Jake if his sales were fake? Obviously, they would get confirmation before making that decision. Unlike you, they aren’t conspiracy theorists.

What a lesson it is to just listen to the CEO talk, you can tell he's a stellar businessman in how he stays focused on the business aspects of the whole situation instead of his ego. He could be smugly reveling in schadenfreude but instead he's lamenting the loss of the business opportunity that Austin's company could have become.
And now Live X Live can do similar events without Austin because he’s talked about a female version but he didn’t trademark or contractually secure the event. #dumbass

This could have lead to a lot of different events: Influencer basketball tournaments, flag football, bowling, poker tournaments, kart racing, maybe some kind of fantasy event/sport, any kind of event they wanted in the future. Such a shame Austin ruined the cornerstone. His greed and shortsightedness cost him, his family and others so much. SMH. I'm seeing that getting rich quickly without the slow, struggling learning process may be the worst thing to happen to people.

His wife is starting her own separate channel. This smells like he's trying to make money off this new channel and separate it from the main one in case the main channel and his company linked to it files for bankruptcy. But if his wife creates a new channel in her own name separate from the McBroom legal entity umbrella and makes money from it he thinks he can get away with it.
That’s how the Stouffer’s stayed afloat after the baby scandal. The lady’s channels suffered for a bit but her husband’s channel wasn’t affected. Having a separate channel is it’s own income
There was a rumor that said the McBroom's were going to file for divorce just before the lawsuits started piling up that way they could salvage half of their net worth since the wife would get half of his money. Sounds crazy but wouldn't be a bad idea for a couple who could lose everything. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

And they can't wink at the camera and say "we're just divorcing on paper to fool the creditors and law suits". Besides, divorces can take long to initialize and finalize. It's better to declare personal bankruptcy because they'd be able to recover relatively quickly from it.

Austin was too dumb to realize the value Social Gloves as a company could've had was x100 any payout he would've gotten from this one event. Dude could've easily taken the L this time but built it into a 100 million dollar brand but chose to tear it all down for a quick buck he'll likely never even see.
He's been hurting for cash for the last few years, and the family has scammed their fans almost from the beginning. He clearly doesn't have the capacity to think long term not the financial acumen to build a successful business.

Ohhhhh I understand the grift now. The reason that Austin promised the other fighters so much money is because it didn't make a bit of difference to his payout. He was first money out. So if he was to be paid $5 million and the event only earned $5.2 million, he still got his entire paycheck - and everyone else could do what they wanted with the rest he didn't care. At least that was the plan.
I wonder if Austin will end up getting jail charges with the fraud situations. Not to mention he fraudulently got a PPP loan

Essentially tax evasion is so prevalent that they couldn't possibly lock everyone up for it - we simply don't have enough space in our prison system. So what do they do instead? They find a really high profile person who committed tax evasion - ie Wesley Snipes - and make an example out of him by giving him a stiff prison term. And I promise they are going to do the same with PPP loan fraud. Austin would be perfect for it

If he tries to reconfigure payout then those fighters might be able to sue for the difference between what was promised then versus what is offered now. They would still be owed since they had a contract. The only way to beat the obligations of the contract is personal and business (social gloves) bankruptcy.

The law firms will make tons of money. My mother is a corporate attorney and is a partner in a major law firm in NYC. It’s super expensive to hire top lawyers. In her law firm they charge over $1k per hour for bankruptcy cases. A case like this it will be much more. So, as I said law firms get $$.
