I just got an Amazon Alexa dot 3rd Generation and I've watched like 20 videos and none of them work my problem is that it has a red ring around it and every time I say Alexa it says "Sorry, I'm Having Trouble understanding right now, please try a little later I've tried to restart it, reset it, same with the router and I also tried moving it from a place and when I go to the devices section in the Alexa app it says "Device Offline. Some settings may not be available" even though my wifi works pretty well please read this and reply.

Same thing happened to me, i’ve tried everything that i found on the internet and none of them worked
I just had the same issue. Turn her off (take out all power sauces) and eat 15-20 second. She should then update and go back to usual. Let me know if it helps

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, czcams.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
The 'Reset to Factory Defaults' worked for me.

I wanted to help you guys. My Alexa Echot dot 3 did the same thing today. After 3 times of pluggin in an out.(5 minutes interval) i chatted one of the amazon rep. Then alexa worked, Asked me to check updates Then it working now..
Had this issue, it turned out to be the parental control on the WiFi needing permissions set. Resetup echo using a laptop instead of an app and it automatically went to my BT hub and allowed permissions to be set.

I have had the SAME PROBLEM with the echo Studio
Have tried EVERYTHING , UNPLUGGED it , deregistered it , reset it by holding down the mic button and the vol down button at the same time , I have been on to Amazon and they have walked me through all three of these scenarios.....AND i have done this with THREE echo Studios , returning each one for a replacement, and finally giving up on the third one and asking for a refund ..... The only thing I can think off is the second batch of these sent out must have a software glitch ....shame because i really wanted this to work ☹️☹️☹️
I too have the same problem ..... To solve this you have to reset the Alexa ....for that you'll find few videos on youtube....and then add the device or wifi and all to it .....

Mine was working then it started blinking green for no reason when i was watching an old fashion German movie so i unplugged it then finished the movie then i plugged it back in now it keeps blinking yellow and when i ask her stuff she keeps saying "Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you right now. Please try a little later" how can i fix that????

I just got Amazon alexa 2 generation holding the mic button and volume down button had worked and after I did that I connected my echo dot from the alexa app

The solid red light going. Disconnect the power cord for 10 seconds put the cord back and the ring light is going to be red so press the microphone bottom and done
If anyone says the solid red light us scary, it just means its on mute ^^

Another problem is when people turn it on and say Alexa right away when it turns on the light will be on you have to wait for it to turn off hope this will help you!

2020 same Problem.
Alexa App says "account closed" just all of a sudden but the Amazon app with same login works fine. Something is wrong here. Nothing has changed on the Amazon account. I can't login to app to reset it up... Had this thing for 4 years without issue.

Absolutely none of the above C suggestions worked, hence the reason I came to CZcams. My Wi-Fi is working obviously cuz I'm able to put this on yet Alexa claims that she is not able to help so what the hell. She claims she's having trouble yeah nobody knows how to fix it very odd probably why Google is better
my light is red and says exactly that but she’s not on mute, the mute button turns red and i turned it on to prove to myself she wasn’t on mute, i don’t know why she is going red but it says she’s offline when i check the device on my phone i’ve unplugged her about four times and she’s still doing the exact same. i’m going to try to mute her for a bit but i’m not entirely sure that’s what’s wrong with her

My Alexa does this, but I thought it was just my speech. I have trouble pronouncing some syllables. I wasn’t trying to say the syllables that I have trouble saying, but I might’ve spoke unclear and just didn’t know it, even though I could barly speak one day, and she understood me fine.
Unplugging her did it for me

Sameeeee, late at night I'll try to turn on my lamp or something and it does that shit. Pretty freaky. I have to stay up on my phone for a while after it does that.
