Just bought a 911 for the seat now I'm good to go
My dad's friend has a Ferrari seat. I'm set. 😂
Also Ik this is a joke but imagine if someone did that irl 😂
@Kryptic Cyborg because everyone has got a spare gaming chair
@Caleb Maddrey we don't
pff a 911 seat, a good rig has the iron throne from game of thrones in it
@@High.on.Life_DnB pffffffttttttt I use no seat I just float my guy
“Simplest sim rig. Step 1: buy 911 and remove seat”
Wheres the shifter?!
I don't have one yet. If I get one I will definitely post up the modifications ;)
He said 'simplest' so there is no shifter. Maybe you are the 'simplest' person I have wasted a minute of my life with.
Paddles?? Also handbrake (can mount to the wood on the side on steering wheel) (like how ken block's is)
michael lavery 😂😂
michael lavery sry but that is the dumbest shite I've read
This is it, I've found it. This is how I'm gonna build it. Can't get simpler than that. Thank you.
Give it a go. Much better than just clamping to a table.
Da li si napravio?
Stvarno jesi li?
Evo prođe tri godine i nisam još. Zaboravio čak na koji video sam ostavio ovaj komentar i sad mi ti pomogo ga nać. Napravit ću vald jednog dana :)
Dva sata posla maksimalno! Za čas se napravi. Preporučujem sedište od starog sportskog auta, ja sam našao od Alfe GT. Samo treba prostora, kad se to napravi zauzima lepo mesto.
This is genius. Simply genius. And there I was, thinking up all kinds of incredible complicated metal bar rigs, not knowing anything about welding whatsoever. Corpses of trees is the solution. Thanks dude!
LOL!
so that's what Roger Federer does when he's not collecting grand slams
Loooooool😂😂😂😂😂
xaxxaaxxaaxxaxaaxaxxaxaaxxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxax LMAO
fact he looks like him :)
LMAO I WAS THINKING THE SAME SHIT.
I actually laughed at that :D
"World's Simplest DIY Sim Racing Rig" As soon as he pull the saw out, Thats already way past my skill level
If you can't handle a tool then you should've just stopped at the DIY already :)
But seriously, Home Depot will cut the wood for you - you just mark the measurement
Okay zoomer.
That's just sad 😂
Same
I almost felt myself diving towards the monitor to catch the saw when it fell lol. Great work with the rig , nice and simple and works perfectly. Nice one mate!
Original PORSCHE 911 seat. Doesn't get simpler than that ;)
...or cheaper ;)
I picked up a couple of leather RX-7 seats for cheap from a junkyard that worked perfect for my arcade cabinets, especially with their side-bolstering and lumbar support gave them more of a realistic feel within a Race Cab arcade cabinet.
Nice job, Jeff! You've taken something that would've otherwise been left to collect dust in the corner of the garage and turned it into something everybody watching this video would be excited to try out. Very cool!
I sit on my couch for 3-4 people, with my wheel clamped to an old and brittle portable table, beat that.
You're racing a bus.
I use an *_O Z A R K T R A I L L A W N C H A I R_*
Me 2 bro I use the tables😭
ironing board
@@whichri79 seriously? 😭
I don't have access to a seat, timber, steering wheel, pedals or a computer. Can you make a video showing how to make this setup without those items? Thank you
Just sit near the front of a bus and you can pretend a dinner plate is your steering wheel ;)
Home Built By Jeff wish I'd thought of that. I suppose it's best to eat the dinner first?
NewJerseyJay I guess you can just straight up go racing in real life. It’s as simple as that
I really hope this is a joke.
Grab a chainsaw and cut up your car.
Really appreciate having this exist! I found a sweet manual GTI (the plaid one, of course) seat in good condition so I actually mounted the seat rails to the chassis of the rig so I can move the seat back and forth so others can use my sim too, but I didn't have the slightest clue as to where to start in terms of actually building it until I saw this.
Simply the best, and I have seen so many commercial alternatives.
Bien joué Jeff !
I think the Porsche seat really gives it that extra something you don't get in a store made one. Have a good new year!
Finally a project I can do myself without my parents going mad! Love it!
I really like this particular design, it's just simple and easy, other people put in complex angles and measurements, sure it looks nice but when it comes to functionality and ease of building this one takes the cake
Watching this for the first time 5 years later, just what I'm looking for!
Thanks for the video! This gave me some nice ideas. I don't want to build such a huge thing with a dedicated seat. Instead, I plan to make only the "table" part. Then when not playing, I can easily store it in the living room as a regular table. I will also want to "extend" it from the sides, to have a cup holder on the left, and a place for a mouse/USB keypad on the right.
Looks good, Jeff. Good to see Mrs Jeff using it as well!
Jeff, you're a legend! My partner bought me a Logitech G29 Racing Wheel with the H-Pattern shifter, and I'm looking for ideas on a simple DIY rig to build, and I'd like to say thanks for throwing these ideas out there for people to see and use! Keep up the awesome work mate! :)
Thanks mate. I will do a follow up with some of the possible mods like adding a gear stick mount.
excellent job, so simple yet much better than anything expensive you buy from a retailer. Nice job.
Watched this video about 20 times to build my set up. Helped massively
Happy to help.
I had a leather chair and built a rig using this video. It worked out great! Thanks for the video!!
i have a wheel stand pro with full motion sim, and tbh, this video just made me want to try building one for my fiance or friend to learn how to drift! awesome to have wood become a endless possibility for a racing sim
That’s awesome! Perfect little setup, I would be beyond happy if that was my setup! Well done!!!
Thanks for this video I've built a similar version and it's great wish I could put a picture up
Love it!
Just what i was looking for.
Simple, cheap and usefull.
Jup great build, thats what im gona do! Super easy to build, super easy to perfectly adapt on the go while building and looks really sturdy! Thanks for the build, love it!
Just as soon as I get a racing wheel I'm gunna try something like this. Nice job mate
Great video mate. Popped down to the old pick and pull and nabbed me a BMW all power leather seat with the power harness for 45 bucks. Thanks for the idea!
what I like about this vid is it helps the creative juices going to build something to my needs...
thanks...
looks great to me! beats my set up (clamp on my desk and try not to bump my elbows into my desk chair's arm rests). Actually looks super nice painted.
Great effort but dead tree carcass should be banished to a suitable container like not the shed.. ;-)
My chair is old, and cheap. The armrests got in the way everytime i used my wheel so i got rid of them.
@@iraqifoodcart8447 me too
That's really neat! I'm gunna follow this guide when I get my Wheel and Pedals
so my 1st car was an 06 Pontiac and the engine gave out a while ago, got a new 2015 nismo juke (love it, miss my pontiac because of some memories). The pontiac has just been sitting in the yard until getting paid off and then going to a junkyard, so now ill have a use for the front seats and im stoked!
Nicely done! Thank you, gonna use for my VR setup.
Quick and easy setup!
A nice little project almost everyone can do!
Cheers Jeff!
Hopefully. It works great.
Hi again!😀 Made one from an old mazda 6 seat, doesn't actually even look that bad and works like a charm. It's also very comfy and didn't take that long to build.
Cheers😁
Thanks for sharing this build. I built 1 had so much fun built a 2nd one and now can have head 2 head race tournaments in person when the guys are over. I used Acura rsx seats driver and passenger i got of kijiji.
This is acutally pretty easy to do. I am going to bhuild this once i moved into my own place. Dad wouldnt be such a fan of this :D
Thanks for the video :)
That is the idea. They don't have to be as complicated as people make them.
Did ya build it?
Thats amazingly simple and prefect... I've always wanted to move up to a wheel instead of my curent hand controller... money was always holding me back but this might be just the ticket... thanks for the video...
Oh super cool way to build something simillar.Thks for the nice video.
im building the rig, but I enjoy racing with a h-shifter so ive created my own mod for the shifter and I don't have access to paint. but you really have delivered on the promise of the cheapest diy sim cockpit so im gonna subscribe
Glad you made it work for you. This was all about giving you the idea and letting you run with it.
Awesome. Just built one. Slight modified the table top to improve stability by using MDF sides. Jag Jkr seat. Job done. Thank you.
Datsun, classic 911 and a sim racing rig. omg best yt channel ever
I must say, the simpliest is always gonna be the best. there are obnoxious rigs out there, homemade and branded that I once tried to DIY myself. I was halfway through when I realized how hard it is to clean once dust settles on them... The less you have, the less you clean. I'm currently on a triple screen with very basic, straight forward rig. Like 6 metal bars, a seat and wheels and table.
This is perfect. Thank you for posting!
I was looking to build a PVC rig and scored an old 911 seat yesterday (Gumtree, $50) as the first step. Now I’ve seen this, I’m doing it your way mate. Cheers :-)
Nice practical setup, well done.
Thanks for the idea. Completed mine in 4 hours. Hahaha. Had to figure out where to put the shifter. Made an L shape extension from the base wood.
LOL the best part was seeing Mrs Jeff take it over! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wow that was just amazingly simple. Now I definitely have the right ideal design. Thanks bruh this really helped me.
Glad I found this video again, after watching this last year I went to the wreckers and bought bucket seat from a Kia Cerato, bought the passenger seat because it was in excellent condition and only cost me $50, it is super comfortable and came with the rails which were all of similar height so no packing etc to make it fit on my frame. Been using it for a year now and the only change i have made it to remove the G29 pedals and invert them so they sit like a real car. Thank you for the inspiration. Total cost for a really good sim seat (Not included the logitec G29) was $50 seat plus $15 in timber.
Nice work. Glad you got some inspiration. Also good thing for me then that old 911's and Alfas have floor mounted pedals ;)
Clean and simple design. Looks Awesome 😀
This is great, so simple and effective. I’m looking for ideas to put something together for my 4 year old, i think I’ll probably go with PVC but this gives me an idea on how to go about it.
Another great project. Thanks Jeff.
Great project and the missus is adorable, also. KUDOS
You’ll need some cross bracing for when Mrs Jeff is power skidding into those corners hard on opposite lock...
This.
This is great. Wish I could do something similar at one point or another.
Nice and simple, I like it. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome. Son and I now have a new holiday project!! I'll send you pics once done!
That would be great, send them through.
thank you so much!!! I built my own sim rig too just no seat just wheel and pedals I really learned a ton here 👍 cost me 15$ wood and screws I had the drill and saw
This is great , thanks for sharing. saving big bucks here.
Better and simpler than mine! Love it
I don't have a lot of room in my place for something like this to be stuffed in the corner of a room with its own dedicated monitor/PC and such full time, however, I'm going to be looking at building a SLIGHTLY different model of this setup. The table will be easily detachable, the seat easily removable and reusable as a normal chair while working at a work bench. The entire unit would have to come apart and stack in a corner somewhere like a utility closet, but it can easily come out and "play". AWESOME stuff here.
Just built a diy rig with me and my friend and its really nice, only took about 2 days!
Floor hinged pedals ...good practice for driving the Porsche...great work!
haha, I didn't think of that
Great video well done. At 6:10 when things slide from that top reminds me of myself when I make things. Maybe it will last longer than most tubular setups too.
thats an epic and simple set up!!!!!
Wow...You are talented...I could not do this in a decade...well done and happy racing!!
It is very simple, anyone could do it
This is awesome, Im thinking I might actually do this. I was dreading spending $400 plus to buy one and im not exactly a good welder. On the plus side I already have an SVT Focus seat that I can use. Thanks for the idea
Great video Jeff. You just gave some ideas to start creating some stuff. Thanks! :)
Oh wow that 911 is gorgeous
I wished i had a dad like this man
This is just what I need. Thanks dude!
Nice work Jeff! Need to do this for my force feedback wheel and pedals for my ps2.
Does the job and looks great. Ace video, mate.
Dude! You've got a table RIGHT THERE!!! Put the wheel on the table, throw your seat/pedals assembly under it and use THAT to figure your distance, at least. Who knows, maybe you'll like the height, too. Of course, another way is to get a friend to hold that stuff for you while you do your measuring-tape thing.
Pretty good low-budget deal, though.
I had to use the google translator to write since I speak Spanish, I really liked the design I am going to do it thank you very much for the idea
Dang I always wanted to have just a wheel and pedals but I’m not financially stable enough for just the simplest ones, but I hopefully will get one soon and this has helped me save money for my set-up thanks man🙏
Great Job...!! (and a beautiful car you have there... !!)
The seat is everything, and it’s a Porsche seat. It really does not matter how simple a rig is, as long as you have the best fit possible, and can stand up to the rigors of sim racing, I’m handy enough to build a rig, but wanted a store bought rig, and a damn nice one I got. RSeat S2.
I did this back in 95 with a ps2, before it was popular, built the wheel and pedal mounts on a wood platform, worked well, would love to buy one of these newfangled wheels theyre sellin now.
to be perfectly honest, this is a very cool, smart Dude
THank you for this ... gave me the idea to build my own based on your design ... Since i drive a Skoda Octavia in RL, i used a Seat from one :)
Awesome. Good luck with it. :D
Wow! This is so good mate! Very smart!
This is awesome! My wife just got me a Xbox one with forza 3 for Christmas. Now I have an excuse to get a steering wheel and pedals so I can use my spare 240z seat👍🏼😁
The set up doesn't get much easier ;)
Nice one, well done.
Love this. Also love the double bass drumming in tandem with the feet on the pedals at about 2:35 - 2:40 :-)
Man, I've noticed that too! Awsome
Great job, thanks for sharing
jeff you are a genius.
Brilliant!! I want one!!
Happy New Year mate!
Happy new year to you.
Great, quick set-up..
Moin, you made a fine RIG there
I'm more of a hobby at ACC at the Series X and just looked at what material had accumulated over the years.
I built my RIG completely out of wood and this is what it looks like now. It only has to be filled and then painted black with orange accents.
However, it has become quite massive (1.72 mx 1.20 m). I built in the Gamechair as only I am allowed to sit in it. So he didn't have to go on any rails.
Unfortunately, the options on the XBox are very limited.
I took the 3 vibrators + control from an old massage mat, screwed 2 of them into the seat and the third to the pedals. Connected via the subwoofer of the Gamechair. Not as optimal as on a PC, but the result is astonishingly good. Engine vibrations, curbs or gear changes are simulated well.
I can proudly say that I have made something fantastic for me out of "junk in the basement". Except for a few corners, I had everything lying around.
I think it's great when someone thinks about it and builds something for themselves. Anyone can buy ... 😄
Definitely a nice video of you with a great result.
Here is a very short video of my RIG in its current state.
czcams.com/video/BuATCe7t4Xs/video.html
Very cool. Love your work
I’ve been thinking about getting one for my brother ima buy my self one too I’ve been hooked on these racing games realistic
give this man a medal! will do one myself.
How did it go
I basicly just did the same thing 2 days ago 😁 i had my thrustmaster t500rs wheel mounted to a wheel stand pro so that was the perfect way to start so i bought 3 garden poles.2poles are 9cm x 9cm x 240cm and 1 pole in size 7cm x 7cm x 240cm,i cut the big poles at a lenght of 150cm for the side of the rig, then i cut the left over pieces at 40cm this serves as the width of the rig(40cm is also the width of my wheel stand pro)as for seat i used my original audi s-line seat since i put recaro pole positions in my car.😉Then i cut the small pole in to 4x45cm to serve as table feet for my monitor, and just bought a dark oak wooden layer to put on top of it,and man it is stable, doesn't move a inch while racing while when i had my wheelstand pro when sitting in my couch it would contantly move around,i spend around 80euro worth of materials, and it's the best thing you can do if your handy and have the tools,i just didn't have a circle saw to cut everything so i sawed it manually other then that it took me about 5 hours to get it perfect how i wanted.
Very nice job.. simple is the key.
the paint job made a world of difference
I really like it. G29 (Im only a casual racer) arrives tomorrow. Im gonna build this for GT7V. Im gonna taper the front down, put a grill and some old vintage car lights on it. Maybe an old Hand honker too. 📯
