This was a delightful run for sure. Makes me wish there was mechanic in StS that linked specific card rewards together to have a chance to be seen more often. Not like... a certain show up, but maybe a way to support certain archtypes every now and then.
Pin Point Defense ( PP defense ) is so busted. It's basically a permanent -3 strength to all enemies that they can't purge. Oh and it also applies mark when they attack you. Oh and if they attack you for less than your PP defense you actually GAIN block.
During the run there was some consistent mistakes that probably come from never having other mark cards to even think about, but on turns where you're going to play many mark cards, you would always want to play the biggest first. During slavers you were 1 damage off at one point, and earlier you could have pressure point and then 1000 needles, which would deal 20, (8 and then 12) vs the other way around deals 16 (4 and then 12). I noticed another turn you played 1000 needles like 4 times and then pressure point. So that does 4,8,12,16,27(67), instead of 11,15,19,23,27 (95) if you play pressure point first. Really cool to see some custom cards change up the game, you make it even more fun to watch!
I love that your chat immediately identified the final fantasy reference behind the 1000 needles card. Props to chrisxwright @2:26 for catching it immediately.
"that card kinda nasty" because it comboes with itself giving you 3 block for each attack you take from all enemies(equaling a constant AOE -3 strength on every consecutive attack) while also stacking your mark for extra damage. it does look like 2 different cards joined instead of 1 card. like if Rupture and Brutality/Combust were on the same card, and cost 1.
Using 1000 needles before pressure point means 4 + 4+11 damage using pressure points first means 11 + 11+4 damage, interesting thing to consider Also sorry for being that guy
Acupuncture has no direct health benefits other than possible stress relief. However as it turns out, stress relief can have a LOT of health benefits so it can definitely help some people.
Quick thing I wanted to ask: not that this would ever come up in the base game, but don't you generally wanna play the bigger Marked cards first? IE pressure points before 1000 needles, since then its 8 gets triggered again on every smaller Marked play.
I could totally smell an infinite not sure how you’d get there but something with the meditate, cut through, nunchucks, establishment and probably a lot less cards

Too bad I have switch version, which has no cursor for my cat to swivel his entire face following. But maybe I should buy this game again on PC just to try out some of these neato mods! Those are some busted combos with nirvana making cut through fate gain block.. then it brings backs 1000 needles, which applies make and gains more block. Rinse repeat. So 3 cut through fates can be 18 block potentially. That’s pretty sick. Or third eye will be even more lol
Wait so I’m not too sure but can someone clarify the interaction between runic pyramid and establishment? Does that mean every card goes down in cost? Or do they have to be “retained” specifically via card effect?
It specifically has to be the Retain keyword so it doesn’t give you free card with rune pyramid because pyramid simply removes discarding it doesn’t grant Retain

If there isn't a 'Oh hi Mark' reference in this video -I will understand that not everyone finds the same things funny, nor has the same exposure to content that allow in-jokes to form and won't think any less of Andrew as a result. :)
having marked Be a keyword for a single card seems off, it definitely needs support from other cards

yeah Lock-on is orb support, marked doesn't do anything other then remove artifact's at the best of times.

I always thought mark could be a cool mechanic. Less deal damage based off, you could just leave that to pressure points.

Depends. If you have only 1 energy left you'd play needle first since pp will spend that energy and prevent you from playing needle.

Its only OP because it also activates mark. If it only applied the mark and didn’t trigger it, it might be more balanced.

no, runic pyramid specifically avoided saying retain, so no reduce cost

Watcher should have a paper relic that applies 3 mark to all enemies at the beginning of combat and lose hp equal to mark at the end of turn.
Or do like 25% more dmg in theme with the ofher paper relics
