“It’s forest for the trees”, not “forest near the trees” - you self-proclaimed English expert.
That doesn't even make any sense. Now go do some actual research then come back and apologize to my viewers when you realize you are wrong.
@@TheNotaRubicon You said in your video "forest near the trees", and I'm explaining to you that the saying is "forest for the trees". Look it up. You also called yourself an English expert. Check your own video. How can you be an English expert when you don't even know the correct saying. Fool! Nuff said.
Wow you seem pretty smart, we are all very impressed! Now go look up the terms "sarcasm", "comment-baiting", and "Dunning-Krueger" .. Once you are able to grasp those complicated concepts it will be more clear to you who the real fool is.
What? Why R U so demeaning to me! We don't even know each other...never met...seldom comment and yet... U R 2 complicated 4 me!
And "all intents and purposes," not "all intensive purposes." But, oh well.
I totally dig this guys sense of humor…😂
It's great. Even if you are not into radio. I just watch to see the spoken grammatical and pronunciation errors intended to irritate the HAM Karens and uptight geeks out there.
I wasn’t into radios, but now I’ve ordered one so that I can find the sad hams too.
Sad hams. Aka follow govgoons.
@@davidcolebatch2900 😂😂😂
My daughter is.an English teacher who has lots of fun with this type of humor. @adamc1713
I don't know how to put this, but I figured putting my money where my mouth goes would help. I didn't even know about GMRS until 10 days ago, I was being pressured to get my HAM license and without your help, I too might have been soliciting the attention of strange men over the free radio waves. Instead I have found porpoise in GMRS. My little family can all talk to each other, as we adventure through our many fieldtrips. Your pacific type of sarcasm and antics give me flasbacks and fits of laughter. Your affiliate links below have benefited both Boof-Wang and Wouxon Ocean, as I am easily suggestible to options laid out by well researched youtube, "Superstars." Keep it up. Sad Ham's have lost this day.
A very rare, and very humble thank you, sir.
I like it when you're being pacific. It's like a cool coastal breeze on a hot day.
Could you be a little more pacific? I don't understand
I went back to your videos a few years ago and the sass has progressed. Gave me a good laugh 🤣 enjoying your channel as always, bud!
Oh yeah, we didn't hear a a single bit about sad hams back then.
LMAO
The most important feature of any radio is of course the roger beep.
WRIST STRAP SUPREMACY!!!!!!!
Let's fucking gooooo!!!!!
Just found your channel a little over a week ago and have laughed my ass off watching your videos!
On a serious note though I do love how straight forward and no bullshit your videos are. They are very knowledgeable direct and to the point after you get done making fun of all the stupid people.
As a fellow youtuber who gets the same kind of stupid people commenting on my videos I can truly appreciate the sarcasm and wit that you put into your videos.
I subscribed after the first video I watched as I was laughing so hard my wife came in and asked me what in the hell was I watching! lol!
I have had my GMRS license for a few years and I am still trying to learn more about different radios and your channel is the best most up front and honest one I have found.
So a big thanks for all the great content and help you are providing to those of us that are not dipshit karen ham radio operators that think they are the gods of the radio waves!! lol!
keep up the great videos!
I would not know anything about these radios without Randy. His content is solid. Get a couple of uv5rs with usb cradel or usb battery charging. Watch his channel. Learn. After this you can keep or give them away and show others. Thanks Randy!
Same
Well said. The UV5 radios are cheap, have plenty of features, and work good enough to test the water.
I have more FARs because I listened to Randy. The HYS-25 Watt Radios are great, but featureless. The Midland MXT 575 in my truck gets many FARs . Thank you Randy.
Fars, talks, moneys, power holes... some of the technical terms go over my head, but I think I got it.
Thanks for making these great hilarious videos.
Hey Randy! In the beginning of my learning process I was frustrated with all the horrible and boring videos that most sad hams and gmrs radio dorks make. I found you and immediately got it. I am still learning but can now understand better the information I wish to learn and be entertained at the same time. Thank you for the videos. 😂
I have been a follower of yours for many many years and I'm beginning to understand that you can be a bit sarcastic. I think to celebrate this insight I'm going to dig out my ham from my faraday cage and press the transmit button just for fun.
I think the word you were looking for was celibate. Sad ham joke.
Are you going to install batteries in the radio for this possibly planned activity? I am just kidding around. I do not have my HAM license, as my plans to obtain one got a bit derailed, but to be honest I had really only begun to study that pool of 1300+ possible exam questions. My best friend attended a night school, and I forgot to ask him on his last visit, to press my transmit button, so I can legally find out if the very inexpensive used bargain HAM radio that I purchased online even transmits.
I really enjoyed reading your comment, it brought a smile to my face, and reminded me of my "INHIBIT" feature that I still have enabled since the day that I received it. Thanks for posting your comment, _John_
“…and I’m beginning to understand that you can be a bit sarcastic.”
A BIT?
See, he’s rubbing off on you, already (and it only took many many years). 😂
I had to stop and restart the video from laughing so much. I love this channel!
Thank you Randy for once again for PACIFICALLY explaining the proper line of reasoning that peoples should follow to determine the correct radio for their own unique shituation. You have the patience of a saint.
That was his “INTENSIVE “ purpose.
I think the most impressive thing on this channel is him keeping track of all the grammatical errors and mispronunciations. He doesn't change them along the way in a video and he seems to also reuse them from vid to vid. (i.e. not creating new ones because he forgot what he did last video).
Second, I watch for the jab he takes at all of us. Because admit it. You, just like me, have at one time been "some person" for some subject. It's a good reminder for humility.
Then, I also come for the information. It's also pretty good as you parse through all the jargon he uses.
Good stuff. Hope to run into him on one of the trails in So. Cal one day.
No. No. No..... "some people" is always the other guy. Never me. My mother told me so.
Absolutely love your background photo, (once again). Not only do you deliver in an outstanding way but I ascribe to your thinking 100% as well👍
Even if I wasn’t looking to buy a GRMS radio, I would watch your channel because your humor and timing is amazing! I enjoy watching your videos that are not even helpful to me because of your comedic presence and annunciations! Ha! Keep up the good work.
Great general advice. Asking what radio should I buy is very much like asking which car should I buy without knowing anything about someone’s needs, wants, budget, etc.
Great video, as always! 😂. Having watched numerous videos on different radios & features, YOU, my favorite CZcams radio nerd, helped me figure out what features & radios I would like. Because of YOU, I purchased the Baofeng UV-9G of which I am very happy with. So thanks, Randy!
I saw a couple of reviews on Amazon that said channel 15 doesn't work on those radios. Is yours working?
This Is why we watch you! I'm sure one of those questions were mine😂 Thanks for the great vids! Always thought provoking and informative! Keep them coming!👍🏻👊🏻
Absolutely LOVE Your channel !!!
sweet bejesus you crack me up. thanks for always making it simple and enjoyable with your reviews
But, but, but, you left out color. One has to match their jeep or outfit.... duh! So 9R Pro in Red.... of course.
Seriously, a good video, with the usual level of sarcasm and humor, which is appreciated.
Loved the Roger Beep comment. I haven't been called on mine yet.
I'm just glad that ever since the very first video I watched, there's still that BAR rifle leaning up in the corner guarding all the blinking radios on the wall!!
I enjoy your fireside chat videos the most.
Appreciate the videos and recommendations and SASS
Hi notarubicon new sub thanks for teaching me about GMRS, I recently purchased my first Radio called “ Rugged Radio’s GMR45” no one has done a review yet that I have seen, and thought that it would be perfect for you to be the first to do so, you teach us very well and I appreciate it, thanks for sparking a new intrest and hobby for me. Your channel is fun, funny, and great.
Top-=notch and timely, as per uvula!
Thanks, Randy. I love your videos ✌️
It's like you knew I was going to start watching your videos the last few days and that I needed a video to explain how to pick a radio....
I love the sarcasms here. LMAO! When I do this on FB I get suspended. Ha ha ha ha
My Boofwang UV5 HAM is a very good GMRS radio. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
How many fars is it?
Should I get one? Or 3?
What antenna are you using to get your fars?
I like the blue ones. 😂
Great videos and to the point 😂. Tell them to refer to all your previous videos. Thanks Randy
Absolutely to the point for us unlicensed users and very entertaining
Keep it up, Randy. I enjoy your videos. 👍
Thank you!!
Man, yer intro face and reactions just sent me on a laffing fit…. Well done sir.
Good overview of things to consider for us 'newbies'. I have a solid Midland GMRS only HH but was thinking about a more capable HH for 'listening' to loose lips and other vital info.
Probably your best video, too bad so much of it will get missed because you're brilliant
All they need to do is watch your previous vids and will know the answer.
Appreciate the vids as I bought a 805g based on simplicity- Midland for the Jeep.
Sarcasm, dont know what people mean, but I get you. 😂😂
My favorite thing about Randy is he helps me boil things down to one single, simple question.
Oh yeah, I'm loving it.
very helpful! thank you !
I wasn’t a knowing FCC rule breaker until I started watching this channel.
Thanks!
Still haven’t received my first strongly worded letter from the FCC, but I’m working on it.
No one likes a quitter.
Thank you
Another great video!
These are all good points, but if you're new to radio and want a cheap handheld, my suggestion would be this: the Baofeng UV5R was the go-to choice for a long time, but the Quansheng UVK5/K6 kind of took over because you can install modded firmware. And whereas the Baofeng can only display numbers on the screen, the Quansheng has a dot matrix display, so it can show things like channel names, text messages, or a spectrum analyzer. I don't know of any other radio that you can download bootleg firmware for, so that's the one.
Greetings!
I have a Radiodity DB25G in the overhead console, tuned to convoy channel, road chan, spotter chan, on the 4th line I have set up so I can scan the local USFS, police, fire, etc. A UV5R for my spotter (transmit only on spotter chan, listen to convoy chan) 2 UV5G Plus set to convoy chan and road chan for others in the convoy or camp A Midland 75-822 CB radio has been a great help in the active logging areas. The CB and DB25G have magnet mount antennas on the roof. Our venturing usually is in the northern Oregon Coast range or around Mt Hood. A UV 5r is used as a scanner at home.
Always good for a few laughs. Not sure what this humor is called, I would guess dead humor. And I love it.
I'm beginning to watch your videos simply for the comedic value.
When I first started watching Randy, I realized that it was in my best interest to go back and watch about a dozen more of his CZcams videos. By doing that, I was able to decide on the right radio for me. I got what I needed, and didn't over spend on things I was never going to use. Thank you Randy.
You crack me up every time!!
Great to see you on survival dispatch!
To be on its… this was the best radio belated video I’ve seen this week. One question… I don’t like the radio I bought, which one is better?
Classic! Love it!
more moder art. incredible. thanks
I like your monitor picture! ✊
You’re killing it over on the GMRS Uncensored page. People are quoting you like your the radio good you are.
Now which one is this? I'm seeing several pages with that name on Facebook
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
Raw Power! 50 watts is allowed on some channels to a licensed operator, but program accordingly. A commercial radio that can be programmed to your allotted frequencies is not extremely expensive. They all have good features.
I wish there was a place to go online and do a checklist to see which radio was best for you. That listed the majority of current radios, if not all of them and gave you a way to sort them out by features to shorten your choices down, like how NewEgg does computer equipment
I don't. We would all buy the same stuff and soon...it would be the 60's all over again. With great choices, comes great profundity. Just buy what your neighbor has.
I'm not a Smith, I'm unique, I want to buy what works for me, something like that would make that possible. Trying to wade thru the plethora of devices has triggered my ADHD and ADD to the point I'm about to give up trying to decipher it all. It would be nice if there's a site to just break it down to a few choices that one can do a side by side comparison to determine which one to buy, even if it means they're on 15k different websites, along with their current prices, which isn't something that I consider until after I determine what I want in a product first. Others may want that as their primary focus, others may want wattage or selectivity or something else. My priorities aren't the same as yours but, having a central location to determine which radios are the ones to look at for you is what everyone is wanting. That and a recommendation from the Orange Jeepster....
Just to counter the unhappy Hams.. I watch all your postings and find them very useful! Yes, I use GMRS as well as Ham radios.
Thank you, Mr CZcams Hobo.
It always depends on individual needs.
Just wanted to let you know watching your videos I picked a good GMRS radio got it programmed and making contact.
Killin' me (and it, pacifically) on this episode. 😂😂
41 seconds in and I'm already laughing. Also, I must say the current "Jenga wall" arrangement of radios is very nice and clean looking. 👍
Me too 😊
6:53 "How will you know who all the sad HAMs are?"
I wasn't expecting to hear that. Your videos always make me laugh!
Once again our savior has spoken. Without Randy’s guidance I’d still be wandering in circles about which radio I should buy…
I enjoy your content
I don’t think 💭 you have to place a disclaimer claiming a misspeak and correcting yourself. We are all human, however, your mispeaks are totally acceptable as you always have the correct grammar and spelling 😂. Love your channel and your witty and sometimes funny as snit sense of humor. By all that is holy and in the name of Zenu I hope that your viewers got the underlying meaning. Keep up the great content and information. Memphis, TN.
Only happy comments over here, Padnuh!
Your humor absolutely kills me! Even more so because I just imagine how many hamburgers you are triggering! Keep it up brother!!!
It's funny that he upsets people that don't understand the obvious humor. Fars? Mouth hole? Squirting transmissions?
A child can figure out that's a joke.
Radioddity g30 is excellent. We use 7 of them on a ranch.
WE like our Wouxun KG935 s .
Make a decision and stick to it! I got my GMRS license on February 21 this year… Last Friday I received, after paying the Amazon lords, I received my BTECH GMRS-50V2. I also bought two Boof-Wang GMRS GM-15 Pro handhelds… I don’t like the GM-15 Pro, but I made the choice, and they do work… The only problem is the BTECH GMRS-50V2 does not have a Roger Beep, but I hope I will survive.
I enunciate my own roger beeps.
This channel deserves a hound of replause.
damm Randy your the best.... sarcasm and knowledge. thanks for all the enlightenment !!
Randy is following the path blazed by others in his witty use of "malapropisms", applying same to the narrow topic of GMRS radios. If you don't know what that means look it up. I find this entertaining. We are free to choose our preferred types of entertainment. And, this episode is exactly what I need right now.
You are a freaking laugh riot! I love you man!
I liked this before watching
I watch your CZcams broadcasts regularly and enjoy them a lot. I have a question though: When do your eyes blink? Ever?
What ever radio you decide to buy it surely wont be your last and before you know it you will go from 1 or 2 to 10 real quick. My Wouxun KG-UV9GX is in the mail on its way to me and excited about this one.
I have had GMRS radios for many years. I started with some fairly expensive Motorola handhelds. Of course back then they were simply family radios and not very powerful. I have several handheld Baufengs and a Retevis 50 watt mobile. I still have a couple Motorola handhelds (cheap now). They are simple and easier to change channels (only us experts know how). I rarely use GMRS radios except when traveling with friends. Unlike the old CB days nobody talks to anyone unless they know them first. For my use the "Ham style" radios work fine and in our own group we can go off channel and not be interrupted by children or others who stumble onto our conversations. Yep, we only do this when in Mexico or Canada or we might get in trouble or make the Sad Hams angry...
Thanks! I have been a subscriber but took your instructions and danced right through the process. Now if you can break it down Barney style to me on programming the radios I have put up for emergencies
Thank YOU!
Just the video I've been waiting for. So which one do I get?
Geat video! One question... what radio should i buy? 🤔
Legend has it that if one watches one of these videos from Randy, your radios will increase in FARS. CZcams Superstandom at work. 😎
Sounds like I need to get a radio to use while sitting on the couch. My cell internet service is so bad dial up is a appealing alternative.
I like the Snowden documentary going on in the background
It was very interesting and somewhat of a coincidence to see a photograph of Mr. Snowden in the background. Only minutes before I began to watch the video, I had posted a comment on a news site regarding him, and allegedly a planned private dinner with another famous person that never transpired. _John_
Cool shirt, Bro...
I suspect Marconi did not take a test and receive a permit from the FCC's. Does that make all radios unlawful?
Good Mr. Randy...
Now that the UV-5R has been "discontinued," what is the "heir-apparent" for the crown?
Secondarily, is the UV-9G still up on the list for GMRS?
I value your insights. Thank you!
I recently bought my first GMRS Radio, I got the the orange one, Becuse I like orange.
Just keep doing what you are doing. Let the haters make their own channel and then see how much time they have to worry about your content.
The bitten pencil rocks 🤘🤣🤣🤣🤣
Q?
If you have a UV-5r to UV-5r GMS RADIO "2 hand held repeater system" (2 radios linked for in/out VOX)
The LISTENING UV-5r is monitoring 1-HAM REPEATER and 1-GMRS freq (2 freq monitoring)
The TRANSMITTING UV-5r GMS Transmits out on a GMRS freq what it "hears" from the GMRS and the HAM
Does it "violate fcc" to have the GMRS radio Repeat what it hears on the HAM REPEATER from the "ham 5r" radio?
This will NOT allow people to TRANSMIT on the HAM REPEATER, but it would allow GMRS radios to hear the HAM.
🟥 I heard they're coming out with a chocolate covered one with Whitehall tires...Can't wait. In the meantime I'll just use my boo fwang.🤪
I always look for a radio that I can hold by the rubber duck antenna.
