2. The same information also states that boarding point change is allowed only once and can be done before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of the train. It is not allowed if the ticket is seized or if the ticket has the VIKALP option.
Additionally, online boarding point change is not allowed for I- Tickets or current booking tickets.
3. Another source [3] mentions that to change the boarding station for only one passenger, you need to submit a written request to the Station Manager of the original boarding station or contact any Computerised Reservation Centre at least 24 hours before the departure of the train. However, it is important to note that no refund is permissible for the unused portion of the journey, and once the change of station is made, it will be final. The passenger who has changed the boarding point will lose all rights to board the train from the original boarding point.

Completely depends on your budget and your comfort. General class (2S) is the cheapest way to travel and there are thousands of people including women who use it for travel and general commute. However, the seats are not reserved and lacks the luxury of air condition, pillows, towel, blankets and electric charging supply. The sleeper class (SL) is more or less the same but you have a reserved seat and is less crowded, but even the sleeper class can get overcrowded during festive season.
If one can afford, I would suggest 3rd AC (3A) as the best class for travel. It has all the luxuries except being a little less spacious than the 1st and 2nd class compartments. For shorter routes, for e.g. 5-6 hours of journey, there are AC chair class or the AC executive class trains available as well, like Shatabdi Express. There’s another class known as Third AC Economy (3E) which is cheaper in comparison with 3A and has a 8 berth compartment like Garib Rath express.
If you need luxury, then First AC sleeper Class of the Indian Railways are the most expensive mode of travelling. The berths are more comfortable and spacious, food is served in cutlery plates and bowls and there is special menu for passengers unlike in 2A and 3A coaches where food is loaded from IRCTC’s Kitchen setups, their washrooms even have showers. You have individual cabins which can be locked from inside.
As far as safety goes, railways are one of the safest and comfortable means of transport. Like I said, it completely depends on your comfort and affordability. Hope that helps.

If you have to book two passengers with different destinations in the same train , it cannot be done in the same PNR (ticket). Hence you will have to book two different tickets in this case but if you book two different tickets, getting the berths/seats together is not guaranteed.
