A friend lent me his TF40 305 with 10 grams of lead tape distributed in the handle and tip.
I was blown away. Something about the foam and extremely muted feeling was immediately addictive to me. I'm 6'4 and use a pretty eastern grip with a very early contact point, so I've always had more power than I can easily control. I've used ultra conservative control frames because of that, and settled with the Pro Staff for many years. But with this racket, all of a sudden I had such good feel that I just wanted to RIP it. By slightly adjusting my grip to be just a little bit more western, I started to realize I could let loose entirely. It felt like I had a freaking cannon, but I could finally control it.
I haven't had so much fun in years.
We received the demo at our club where I work....I tried the 305. I strung it with Head Tour and Head Touch at 53. It feels so good. I served 15 balls and made 14 of them. I will order this racquet as soon as I save up for two of them.
Cool content, as usual!
Time for a 98sq tier list!!
⏳
Tfight 305 next on my list. Due to the high swing weight, i think i would put 10 grams only on the grip, great video. Thanks for the easy straight explanation
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Tfight player here. Whenever you try the 305, try it with a 1.20mm or lower string gauge. It will make it feel even better.
@@jonathanp639 noted, i will put that in mind, thanks for your reply
Curious why adding weights on the grip helps with high swing weight?
@@zlzhao1104It doesn't change the swing weight much (just a small increase) but it changes the balance to make it more headlight. Sometimes people talk about "high swing weight" and they're actually referring to "high balance point", which I suspect was the case in marwan's comment.
I’m amazed. I added 8 g at the handle of my Tfight ISO 305. Removed the grip and put two typical overgrips on. It weighs 336g total. It completely changed.
I put it down back in February for a Vcore 98. I may be back to the Tfight!
I’m between trying the Vcore 98 and the Tfight 305. How do they compare?
@@bmxracing7919 Vcore all the way. Strung mine up at 48 lbs with 16L Poly Tour Fire. Great spin, control, and the 98 has tamed the power of the 100. Tfight is fine, but the Vcore 98 checked more boxes for me.
I currently am testing the tf40 18x20 next to the solinco white out 18x20 and do far they have a huge amount of similarities. The string bed is exactly the same, beam width also, both foam filled. Beam shapes are a little bit different though with the solinco being a little bit wider higher up in the hoop and the tf40 slightly pear shaped. Expensive testing side to side very soon
What was the result?
@@tkdhanani tf40 better. Faster through the air, more comfort
I have a IGA 298 and it's a beast, really like to play with it when i want be agressive and hit hard... I had a t-fight iso305 and the ball pocketing and spin, with easy depth is really nice, but it's a racket that makes you get tired fast... and the TF40 is a mix between both IGA and Tfight, in my opinion, similar to Wilson Blade... Tecnifibre makes really good rackets!
I’ve bought a tf40 305 after years of playing with head. String one with triax and one with biophase. I like them both and use them depending on how my body feels. I always start with the triax but if im struggling for depth I use the biophase.
I wish the TF40 came in the all white like the T-Fight... hopefully the next update will change that whenever it is
I really like the feel of my Tecnifibre T-Fight 300 RS. It feels nice and solid on contact and volleys well, compared to my Ezone 100 which just feels hollow and vibey. Curious how something like a Blade 100 compared to the T-Fight, and what else might out there with similar feel.
The TF40 315 is much better overall than the 305 which is underpowered in serves and groundstrokes…the 315 is more maneuverable too and whippy because of it s headlight balance…they are great in stock form
Yes, they are great in stock form but I always like going light and building up to my perfect spec.
I like pure aero 98 spin.. but like the control of Yonex percept.. which tecnifibre would I like the most?
The T-Fight 305
Tecnifibre need to change the grip shape to squarer ones and add a trap door to the butt cap to make it easier to add weight in the handle (especially with something like the Tfight ISO 305)
I agree with this, and should have mentioned it.
I agree with the door trap but I actually really like their grip.
Thx bro for the video. I am always confused with their naming system, especially the T-Fight and TF 😂😂😂
WHy no one is talking about TFight 300 Isoflex0? Great frame, not that hard to play as 305
Wow What a nice review bro😊
I added something like 14 grams to the base of the handles of my TFight 305s and they barely got to even balance after that. Had to sell em. It's a shame because if they were even 2-3 points head light, they would have been perfect.
Put a Light multifilament and it should be ok
Wouldn't have worked as I'd break multifiliment in one hitting session. Even a light poly only lasts a couple sessions for me. @@LL-kz1qe
I have a tf40 315 18x20 … super control racquet. I play awesome with it but yeah a lil boring n flat. Just curious how a tf40 315 16x19 or a tfight 305 18x19 might feel or spice up my game
I haven't played with either so I really can't say, unfortunately.
tfight 305 18x19 will give you more spin with depth control... your ball doesnt get out of the court... i think its a good change... tf40 its gonna be more similar to your 18x20, with easier spin only
@@murilo3123 yup been playing with the tfight 305 since Dec. Took me some time to get the right string setup. Settled with a hybrid poly-mf … love the racquet. Its not super exciting to play with like a 16:19 string pattern but winning matches sure is :)
@@kevinzahri78 nice!! its a great stick, does everything well... the 18x19 string pattern is a good mix of control and spin, i liked it
Great video, tnx, plz have you a idea about Tfight 300 RS , 98 inch??
I have never tried that racket, unfortunately.
Nice review, I am a recreational player, having elbow tendonitis, so planning to change to arm arm-friendly and a bit lightweight racquet(< 290gm), with a low flex rate, I read TF285RS or T--fight 270 ISO, which is a good for arm-friendly, but RA value is 70, and most of them suggest Wilson Clash v2 100L (RA-57) but I didn't feel much comfortable with it and so is Blade v8 100L (RA-68) or Wilson Pro97UL a good choicer than Wilson Clash? I also used to play with ezone98L, Please suggest one...
I think the Blade 100L would be perfect. I'm surprised you didn't find the Clash comfortable but the Blade will be more traditional in its comfort profile.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver Thanks, I also saw your review on Yonex Percept 100 (recent flex tech) vs Head Gr.MP 2023, I was more aligned with Head G.MP 100 but as I used to play with ezone 98, and looking for arm-friendly after switching to Babalot issues started, so which one would you suggest Head G.MP 100 vs Ezone 100 or Percept 100 for more arm-friendly, also stable especially while playing against hitters.
Hi there. I am from Jakarta, Indonesia. Plan to buy my wife a Tecnifibre Tempo 270 since she is a recreational yet beginner player. Would it be perfect, or should I just go for the 298 IGA, instead? We cannot try any sample before buying here, so, your suggestion would be much appreciated🎉
Hi did you buy the tempo 270? I'm in bali and i just checked it out of the orange shop 😂 hope it'll be good!
what strings are you using.
so do you think i should just get the 315 instead of 305 since you recommend adding leather grip. also do you think the tfight is above 4.0 racket?
If you don't want to customize, the 315 plays better in stock form. Yes, I would only recommend the T-Fight if you are above a 4.0.
What’s the difference between tempo and t-rebound?
Definitely nice racquets the only thing I don't like are the rectangular handle shape
Totally forgot to mention this, but yes, worth noting.
Just buy a size up, or put a leather grip o.m.
Iga#1 ❤. Great review!
Thank you!
I also have a 18 x 20 Blade V7, that I like but, I really prefer the Gravity pro. Do you think the Solinco 18 x 20 could be a good option?
I have the same rackets and some.. in your case i think you'll like the tf40, but also look at the solinco white out 18x20
I sold my blade 18x20 as to me it is too muted. Foam filling just like he said feels better, but can still feel little bit muted compared to the gravity pro.
I've never played it so I really can't say.
Hey Luca, since these racquets don’t have trap doors, what’s the best way to add weight to the handle other than a leather grip? Thanks!
Good question. I would go with lead strips under the replacement grip.
What about the Tfight 300 ISO?
We don't carry it, unfortunately.
Whats are the strings and kilos in iso 305? Did you like it? Thanks!
RPM Rough 17 at 53 pounds, and yes, I loved it that way.
How would you compare the IGA298 with the Pure Aero 98? I have the ISO 305 but swingweight is bit too high for me. 👍
In my non competitive experience having just tested two of them Iga has more spring power it also feels heavier and feels kind of efortless to hit hard. Kinda favors people with slow to moderate swing. 98 is stiffer and more spinny also lighter and more wrist friendly better for people with strong fast swing. 98 felt much better to me personaly.
hi
I am playing with tempo Iga, strung with restring 1.23 plus an overgrip, the weight is now 322gr, . TW give 312gr ( I think they don 't do over grip in the specs), is my tempo over specs
my is almost 340g with leather grip, overgrip, 4g for 3 and 9 and yonex dampener
Hi Luca, I´m from Brazil, and in my city we don´t have a racket try & buy program. I love the Gravity pro, but after 3 sets I get very tiried. Did not like the Gravity MP. As I will spend 1 week in Vancouver in Feburary do you think it would be possible to get an underspec Gravity pro and also tryout the Solinco 18 x 20?
We don't carry Solinco rackets yet and all of our Gravity demos are pretty close to spec, but you can absolutely try it when you come.
Hey I know this video was posted a few months ago but was wondering what your opinion would be on my situation. I play with head prestige the youtek model and love the racket and the swing weight I’m an 11.5 utr and recently got the chance to accept a sponsorship with tecnifibre. the only thing is lol I love my rackets and I love the control so I was originally planning on getting the t fight 305 iso but after this video I’m thinking I might like the control one instead I need the mains to be 18 because it just feels better for me and I have golfers elbow from a lot of tennis and use soft strings. I strung my rackets with luxilon element on the mains at 48 and technifibre tgv at 50 for the cross. Anywho after this long message the point I was trying to get to is what do you recommend I get for the sponser I’m allowed a few rackets I think so I’m really trying to see what would fit best for what I like already.
I think you should go for the TF40 18x20 in either the 305 or 315. It will be an easy transition and you'll get a bit more modern playability with fantastic feel and tons of comfort.
Thank you I got 3 tf40 305 and added leather grips and lead on the hoop and like you said it was a easy transition and so far I really like them.
Does iga 298 have more powerful serve then the aero98 if both were same 305 gram weight? I'm looking for max power with least effort in a 98 and the ezone 98 is too flexy the ezone tour too heavy
Yes, I would say so. It's very close, but just a bit more on the Iga.
When you give SPECS please give the Swing Wt and Balance.
Look it up yourself. Swingweight varies.
I am playing with Tecnifibre T-Flash 315 VO2, that Baghdatis played 15 years ago, and I have just two more left. It is impossible to find few more, and I am not so happy to change them for something new. Can somebody maybe help me find them or give me advice what can be similar, that I can try?
I'm thinking of doing a Yonex Rackets overview very soon so I'll cover it in depth then.
You get good spin from the t fight iso 300 ? How does it compare with the extreme tour in spin and feel?
It's the T-Fight 305 and I would still say the Extreme Tour has noticeably more spin.
I'm newbie to tennis, can i use tfight as my first racket?
If you’re new I’d recommend a lighter and easier racket to use.
Maybe a team version of a racket.
Do you mind me asking how old you are as that can affect the sort of weight you’re looking for…
A Babolat pure aero lite would be good as it helps you develop spin.
As someone who hits flat ( leads to too many mistake )
I wish I could’ve learned to play with more spin as it gives you more room for error…
@@Turbulencemodei'm 24 but i think i don't suit a racket below 280 gr weight
@@aqshal8552 a pure aero 100 weighs 300grams and is a great place to start.
Easy to use. And helps you develop spin.
As the other comments have said, I would recommend a lighter racket. The T-Fight, especially with the amount of weight in the hoop, will be a little too difficult to swing. Try something like the Babolat Pure Drive!
Tempo 298 and Tfight 300
Are there any huge difference between these 2?
I would assume so but I've never played with the T-Fight 300.
I thought high stiffness was supposed to make a racquet *more* stable/forgiving with less weight?
I should have explained that a bit better with the IGA. Forgiving in terms of free power, yes, however you can very easily launch the ball TOO HARD with the racket.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver Ah sooo! That makes sense.
Hey Luca,
I currently play with the Dunlop FX 500 Tour and looking to make a switch to a Tecnifibre racket any suggestions? 4.5 ex college player
Try the T-Fight 305. It has the Tecnifibre control DNA but with power you'll probably appreciate coming from the FX.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver awesome will do thank you for the reply!❤️
Hey i am 14 and i think to buy head gravity pro 2023 but i think it will be heavy for me so can you recommend me which racket should i buy i need little light and control racket
The Gravity MP would be perfect for you, at 295 grams.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver what about the baboulate pure aero 98 pls reply and thanku for giving me your precious time it means a lot to me
I have a 2019 TF40 18x20 and it's a pretty good racquet. It oddly has more power and a higher launch angle that I would have expected from this type of racquet. The feel is odd, but nice, and definitely has good control. It's not my main racquet, but it's a pretty good "do it all" racquet. I might test less powerful strings to see if I can tame the extra power the racquet provides.
What is your main racquet?
@@MyMostBeautifuCinema A 6th gen Vcore 95. Although I recently customized the TF40 and am liking it more.
Added 6 grams between 3 and 9, and like 10 grams on the handle.
Hi could you help me with racquet choice cause I desperately need a new racquet as I’m using a Pro Staff team 2018 that is way too light for me and Tourney season where I live is starting soon.
I play aggressively and flat I am trying to add more spin at the moment to reduce errors. I use a lot of slice especially on my backhand.
I have a powerful serve that is flat but once again I’m trying to gradually add a bit of spin. I’m not a serve volley player but I do like to go by that style on certain points due to my serve often making my opponent hit back a poor return then I try finish my the point quickly. If I can’t finish it quickly I play from baseline until I put the opponent in a difficult position before aggressively finishing the point when I get the chance.
I have quite a large swing which uses a good chunk of energy, so I do get tired towards end of matches so I know some racquets don’t do you many favours if you’re tired. ( obviously I can work on my endurance)
Out of the following head racquets ( and maybe others that I haven’t thought of) which 2 or 3 would you say would suit me best.
Head radical
Head Boom
Head Extreme Head Speed
Thanks for the help 😁
I think the Extreme would be a really good one to give a shot. It's not too heavy so you won't get tired quickly and it will help you to add the spin you're looking for without sacrificing too much flat control.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I think I’ll try the extreme and maybe the boom ?
Would you see the boom as a viable option for me.
I know you highly rate it…
@@Turbulencemode It definitely is but because it's so unique I usually don't recommend it, but absolutely worth a shot.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver and looking at a different line, the Vcore I’m torn between the 98 and 100….
Same with Ezone and Aero.
The 98 vs 100 battle is something I can’t get my head around 😅
Did you ever try the TFight 315 RS and the new ISO version?
I've never tried the 315s.
hope you could try once ;)
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver
what do you think about the babolat pure aero lite
It's a very light racket so not one I would use but fantastic for lower level players looking to develop spin.
The problem with the T Fight is you need to add a lot of weight in the handle as its so dam top heavy with terrible manoeuvrability and as a result the overall static weight is too high slowing down your swing speed, its really for an advanced player with great fundamentals
Yes, the more I play with it the more I agree with this sentiment.
There is actually a 300g T Fight ISO 300 16 x19 out there that hardly anyone reviews, probably because its not the one that Meddy endorses but this one would be a good platform racquet to customise! I would argue this is seriously an underated forgotten 98sq inch racquet out there. I'm tempted to test this one against a Head Radical MP (also 300) a Babolat Aero 98 and the new 2024 Strike 98. It would be really cool if you managed to get your hands on the ISO 300, customise it and give it a spin! @@RacketsRunnersVancouver
A big news! Just announced yesterday IGA will now be endorsing this racquet, what a coincidence I guess it won't be a forgotten frame after all@@RacketsRunnersVancouver
Don’t you notice it has weird grip?
Yes, I forgot to mention that.
can you do yonex next?
Yes, they're up next.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouverwhen will that video be out ?

The TF40 18x20 is possibly the best of the bunch.... but don't buy that! 🤣
Haahahah i play with that, 305, and it is fantastic
😅
Why?
Bwahahahaha
I think the TF40 305 16 19 is an incredibly solid racket but it’s just a little boring to play with😅
That's one way to put it 😅
Why did you move to canada ?
University!
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver you're still a student ? What are you studying
I thought I read you were French!! 😅
French and American, who grew up in Hawaii!
TF40 305 16x19 was a nice racquet for me. I could easily switch but it didn't feel like an upgrade from my VCore 95. But then I tried the ISO305 and it was a game changer. It's like a controlled Ezone 98, one where random shots don't sail long. I immediately bought an ISO305 but have since realized I'm not manly enough to use it for more than 30 mins.
Tecnifibre is really screwing up big time. The ISO 300/315s are launchy and too wild and the 305 has a SW too high for 99% of rec players. I honestly think they could have a best seller if they brought the SW down 10 pts.
Agreed, but I do think part of its magic is that high SW because it helps it pack that punch.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I agree but a SW in the high 320s would still put it in line with 18x20s like the Blade, Speed Pro, Percept 97D, etc.
"Player's racket"...what a dumb nomenclature. 😜
Perhaps, but it's what we've got
