Chemnitz is actually pronounced like “Kemnitz”. I know the ch is confusing in German 😅

„Chemie“ is kinda confusing too.
Because Chemnitz as you said is pronounced like “Kemnitz” but shouldn’t then “Chemie” be pronounced “Kemie”?
I actually know some people who pronounce it like that but for me it’s just not right 😅

@@BabyDweet10 Yes the ch is just weird. And people in the south of Germany pronounce Chemie and China like “Kemie and Kina” but in the north it’s “Schemie and Schina”

No- in the north and in official German it is Chemie and China with a soft ch. Sch is not correct but often used in the east for example Berlin. Sry for ,klugscheißen‘. And yes I’m the south they use a K .
