The singer for this is actually Paul Wong rather than the main vocalist Wong Ka-kui (who has the quivering voice). Paul is the second vocalist and plays the guitar solos in all of their songs. The song, however, was composed by Ka-kui.

Ka Kui knew if they wanna make it in HK they need to create a pop sound music ,therefore he has the idea of blending the story that he wants to tell about the society in general. Blending stories + pop hence the creation of Da Di, Amani, Glorious Years and many others.

    “Da Di大地” lyrics
    On those green roads
How many traumas have been traversed
    On that old face
    Wind and frost
    Autumn wind and autumn rain
    In youth
If you have to say goodbye
    Never said goodbye
Looking back at the door in a foreign land yesterday
    Sorrowful feeling year after year
But sunset and sunrise never change
At this moment when looking at his father’s smile
    Unconsciously speechless
Let the sunset seep with tears
    On those open roads
How many ideals have been crushed
    On that high face
    How many are cited
The sun and the moon will never change
    Coexist in acquaintance
    Tolerate the divided land
    Draw a line
Looking back at the door in a foreign land yesterday
    Sorrowful feeling year after year
But sunset and sunrise never change
At this moment when looking at his father’s smile
    Unconsciously speechless
Let the sunset seep with tears
Looking back at the door in a foreign land yesterday
    Sorrowful feeling year after year
But sunset and sunrise never change
At this moment when looking at his father’s smile
    Unconsciously speechless
Let the sunset seep with tears
Looking back at the door in a foreign land yesterday
    Sorrowful feeling year after year
But sunset and sunrise never change
At this moment when looking at his father’s smile
    Unconsciously speechless
Let the sunset seep with tears

He's not saying chotto mate in the beginning. He's saying "zhun bei hou mei ah" ("Are you ready" in Cantonese). Also, I think the Mr. Chen is Kubert Leung whom was the background vocal for the concert. He is now the executive music director for the Chinese singing reality show I Am Singer.

This song written and composed by The Leader, the main vocalist of the band, Ka Kui Wong. Actually, most of the songs are written by him. Beyond has a lot of good songs. Maybe you could have a look "喜歡你” , “午夜怨曲”, “阿拉伯跳舞女郎”, “早班火車”, “真的愛你”,“爸爸媽媽”, “我是憤怒”, “情人”, “不再猶豫”, “舊日的足跡”, “冷雨夜”, “逝去日子”, “交織千個心”, “戰勝心魔”, “誰伴我闖蕩”, these are my fav songs of Beyond. I am not sure could you find all of them on CZcams, but I am sure that I use to find some of them on youtube. I was trying to translate the name of the songs for you, but that is really hard for me XD Sorry.

Do keep in mind Live version never reflect the original.
Beyond was born as Heavy Metal rock band. Never compromise? In order to break the sole pop music market in HK back in 80’s.
, under the pressure of their publishing company, they sing slow, love songs in order to gain propularity. They hated it so much. And they were forced to develop Asia markets. The very first song you reviewed actually expressed how he felt.

It’s a pity their popular songs are those commercial songs. Simply because “HK only got pop music” as he hated and shouted out publicly.
The very first sound you reviewed embedded a sentence saying He is Bringing his “cooled down” heart to far away. Which suddenly translated to a very touching song after his death (on June 30th)

To be more accurate, he composed almost all of their songs but this particular song lyrics was written by someone else. He explained that he wanted some really poetic lyrics and he found that himself is not as good in that area so he asked for help from others. He directed the lyricist about what he wanted. They had help for a few of their songs but always made sure the lyricist understand what they wanted.

As a Beyond fan, I haven’t found anyone who likes them likes their “Real” music…
I am very confident to say those are not the works they feel most proud of and can represent them artistically…in fact, they hate some of these sappy ballads that were forced by the record company to write them for gaining mass audiences. HK music market & audiences at that time (even now too) are pretty shallow…so these are songs that suited their level…it is very hard to have true art in such environment…
Songs below can beat any so called “Beyond hits”
Dead romance - wrote about a serial killer in HK part 1 & 2, long work
    czcams.com/video/Ryzk0xYrAwc/video.html
    czcams.com/video/105sM7_ZMT4/video.html
繼續沉醉 - good groove, good sound, they produced this track when they were signed in Japan, better production!
    czcams.com/video/uyVv56wu9kE/video.html
早班火車 - a more unique sappy ballad, also produce in Japan
    czcams.com/video/PE9IUuRrTFU/video.html
無語問蒼天 - epic ballad about life,
    also produce in Japan
    czcams.com/video/qNDYq1kfQzM/video.html
大時代 - wrote after lead singer passed away, sounds more like the type of music they enjoy to play
    czcams.com/video/cDUxKjUYU1Y/video.html
遊戲 - also wrote after lead singer passed away, sounds more like the type of music they enjoy to play
    czcams.com/video/36ENtqBrKSo/video.html
Unfortunately, in a shallow, business driven music market, they have dreams & artistic visions that was not able to realized…
I would recommend foreigners to listen to these songs if they want a real experience in Beyond’s music 🎸🤘🤘🤘

time to move forward try some post ka kui era of beyond, when ka kui passwd away , quite a challenge to them, lost ka kui , main vocal, a core of beyond, really big challenge for paul wong carry the vocal job and guitar too , but i quite like new era of beyond, music style change ,in good way,you really can hear early stuffs same format ,always strat and fender tweed deluxe, pedal distorion + pedal chorus, im kind of pointless haha ,95 %rock band basically use same gear anyway, i mean you car hear sounds change, give you refreshing feeling, maybe getting bigger ,more money better make better recording tech and gear , dont get me wrong, both era great, but i like post ka kui of beyond more.

This video you're watching is the period after KarKui past away. Where the remaining 3 members of Beyond TRIED VERY HARD to keep the legacy going but ultimately failed. So the direction was very much different from the original Beyond. It was more hard rock as opposed to KarKui's pop/soft rock.
I was very much supporting this iteration of Beyond to keep Beyond going but alas, it didn't work. HK is a very commercial driven market back in the 90s. Indie arts just couldn't survive in HK back then.
I'm still very much a supporter of Beyond today, as most Chinese are from the 80s/90s/00s. But all things must come to and end. I'm glad I was exposed to Beyond at their peak and
