Leaving the tidal Severn for the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal | Last Day of Summer cruise (Ep. 11)

The final day of our Droitwich Ring cruising adventure on our live aboard 60 foot canal boat Narrowboat Pura Vida.
After spending the night on tidal waters (the River Severn) at Haw Bridge we head back towards Gloucester.
We were advised the day before by the lock keeper at Upper Lode (just outside Tewkesbury) that due to the tides we would be best to get to Gloucester Lock by mid-day.
Wanting to leave plenty of time we set off ridiculously early (for us) and because the tide is in our favour get to Gloucester massively early!
We lock back onto the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal and continue cruising towards Saul Junction.
Because we're so early we have time for an unscheduled cruise by supply stop at Sainsburys along the way. This is definitely one of the easiest ways to go shopping when you live onboard! This Sainsbury's is particularly conveniently located right on the canal with plenty of room to moor outside so we do a quick re-stock.
Then it's a slow cruise south enjoying the countryside and scenery. There's a short suspenseful wait at Parkend Bridge while we wait to see if it will actually open this time!

@@musoseven8218 Big locks can certainly seem daunting, but trust the lock keepers and follow their instructions, they'll keep ya safe (normally).
Painting anything in watercolor is a challenge for me.. I can't paint 🎨🤣🤣
