been to Padmanabha swamy temple last year..it is spectacular..an engineering marvel like other south indian temples.
For Darshan had to wait so long ..and just got a glimpse of Sri Ranganatha swamy (Maha Vishnu)
When I asked locals they said the vaults are underground and entry to it at the top would be guarded

I live near the temple.actually temple is not a government property it still belong to the Travancore royal family .during the king rule the royal family dedicated thier whole kingdom to padmanabhaswami .later kings of kingdom been called padmanabhadhasan meaning servants of god padmanabhaswamy.since then the gold and treasure were kept in the temple .since then temples vaults acted as treasury during the kings era .

@@camelia3507 There is no need to speculate since it is already know what is behind that door.
When the british via the East India company took over the role of "protector" of the Trivandrum kingdom (Thiruananthapuram), the wise king knew it was only a matter of time when they would usurp the kingdom. So he transferred the entire kingdom and its wealth to "God" established in the PadmanabaSwamy temple and all the gold in the kingdom got transferred into the Vaults.
The king continued to rule the kingdom, but only as a "caretaker" since the actual ruler was "god" himself. This meant that the british could not take over the kingdom even if the king (now caretaker) had no child.
This is why Kerala is know as "Gods own Country".
That being explained, the King also knew that the british could still attempt to steal the wealth from the temple so he established multiple vaults and in one of the Vault (B) he created a vault that trapped evil sprits/demons/curses and whoever tried to open that vault in search of the temple gold will unleash that curse on to himself and release that evil into the world. This door naturally had a warning that it was never to be opened.
Thankfully that event never came to pass and the story of the wealth in the temple slowly got erased from british memory and from the now Indian govt. (who inherited the british raj) memory, though the locals always knew about it.
That is why the current anglo educated Media and Govt of India was surprise by the 12-15 Billion $ worth of Gold they "discovered" in the vault when they opened it.
The Supreme court of India has finally declared that the Temple and its wealth is to be managed by the traditional owners ie. the Royal family of Travandrum (Thiruananthapuram).

There many speculations and stories on whats behind the vault but the know facts are there are different murals drawn in front of the b vault including the serpants and a yakshi . A female ghost. The murals are published in a book (my profoser once shown it me but forgot the name of the book ).people believe that that yakshi is the one guarding the vault by the order of god.the outer gate of vault b is regularly opened though the inner gate is the one causing all mysteries which has no key to open the vault .it can only b opened by certain music notes(no one know which note) and no one alive know how to . The lack of oxygen in the vault musical note door the mural of yakshi and some mishaps during the survey time order by court like some one cut their hand trying to open the door hand dizziness to people. And accident deaths of relates of some officials seen as bad omen causing the decision not break open the vault for now. This is a temple. Acceptable. In my hometown (Warangal, 150Kilo meters from Hyderabad), until a few years ago, if some one starts digging pillar holes(for constructing a house), a police man used to be sent to be like a human CCTV to see if any treasure pots are discovered. By the way, this place was ruled by queen, Rudrama Devi (1262-1289). Many treasures are yet to be discovered in India.

Vimana is a spaceship. It's mentioned in our "epics" and other scripts how "Gods" descend from the heaven in their Vimanas and land on the platforms made specifically for them. The top part of the temple which is pyramidal in shape is also called as Vimana. Which leads us to think that perhaps we made the temples in the likeness of those vimanas and to visit and worship those "gods". We don't know the truth. But it surely is interesting.

There is no handle or lock to open door. It is said that the only way to open the door is by reciting the "Gayatri Mantra" not the usual one that people recite nowadays but the complete version of it, which is said to be so powerful that if not done right, it can kill you or cause madness or bring misfortune to you. Only some great sage who has mastered that mantra can open the door. Personally, I think we should open it. Even if it's the end of the world, at least we'll die knowing the truth about so much. That one temple can prove if God actually exists or not.

A 'vimaana' is like a helicopter or plane described in ancient texts. In the popular myth of Ramayana, the Lankan king Ravana is described as having the 'Pushpak vimana' which he used to fly around to places. It is especially known for having been used to 'kidnap' Sita from their hut after Rama and Lakshmana were sent on a hunt for a 'golden deer'.
There appear to be many texts that describe the advanced state of aeronautics in Ancient India, although many of these were attributed to 'magic' rather than science by later writers. Or, it is possible that, like the many sensible pieces of advice from yesteryears that became mere superstitions because of lack of original context, this science was lost somewhere in the pages of mythology.
Also, there is a popular myth in Kerala about a great Asura king Mahabali who was pushed into the underworld by the Vaman avatar of Lord Vishnu to rule there for eternity. I remember reading somewhere that Mahabali is one of eight (or nine) immortals of Hindu mythology. If that is true, these doors could lead to his kingdom underground. Alternatively, as has been suggested, they could lead to ancient texts believed to have been lost over the centuries. Or, they could just be empty rooms already pillaged of all treasure over the years.
Whatever the case, we won't know unless the doors are actually opened. I doubt it would lead to the end of the world, even if there were a hair-trigger device connected to a really, really powerful H-bomb.

Hi, the temple is open to the public. No photography is allowed inside most temples. These vaults are under the temple basement.
The temple is dedicated to Maha Vishnu, the second of the Trinity.
The old Maharaja, King, donated all his wealth and his kingdom to the diety of this temple and ruled his kingdom as a servant of the diety. The same tradition followed till the country got freedom from the colonizers and a democratic government was sworn in.
The temple has immense wealth in gold ornaments, precious stones, old coins, etc.
    Regards
    Siva Kutty Nair

Been there two years before. It is very beautiful temple in middle of the city. It was a very calming and spiritual experience for me and my wife. btw non-hindus not allowed in main temple for some reason.
Padmanabhaswamy is the tutelary deity of the Travancore royal family. So the custody of temple and its property solely belongs to royal family.(according to supreme court).
Nearby is the palace of royal family which moreover transformed into a museum for common people. There are many old photographs of british officials with members of royal family. It was very clear that royal family had very good relations with british gov. But we should admire that how royal family manage to hide all this treasure from british. If british had even slight hint about the treasure beneath, it would have been end up in british museum. and queen's crown would be more valuable.

The Padmanabhaswamy Swami temple is dedicated to LORD VISHNU. As I vaguely remember, it was sometime in Year 2011 when some of the Vaults were opened. It contained Gold Coins, Diamonds and Rare Gems Stones along with a large Idol of Vishnu in Pure Gold. It was estimated that the find then was worth somewhere in the tune of MAYBE Trillions of Dollars. This is for fact that I remember a mention being made of the total sum to be collected GDP of many a large nations.
The Valut 'B" with twisted snakes that it adorns has no handle and it is believed can be opened CHANTING SOME MYSTIC CHANT which is not known to present day Indians. The knowledge on the same was known to some selected and named sages.
A fear psychosis has been created to dispel any attempts to open the Vault(s) --- do not however know of there are multiple vaults embedded in this single vault one after another..
    The mystery remains....

I live in Kerala, that is where this is located. This is the richest temple in the world as of now. Even i would really love to know what is behind that door. They have already found a ufo - like spacecraft in one of the already opened vaults ( not sure myself but i have seen many documentaries about this ). I really think we should use the technology that we used to scan the pyramids in Egypt( to discover a new passage way recently), then we can finnally know what is behind this without opening it. There is also the rumour that this door opens into the ocean and if people are greedy and are not satisfied with all these gold, if they open this the whole state can get flooded killing millions. Anyway noone knows the truth and all these are conspiracies.

The primary motive behind invasion is the appropriation of treasures from Indian temples, which has been substantiated by records and documentation housed in the National Library. While numerous temples in the northern region of India were plundered and destroyed, the temples in the southern part have managed to remain protected thus far. However, a recent development involves the imposition of stringent laws that grant the state ownership of temples, which is inherently unjust. One might question why only temples are targeted, and not other places of worship belonging to different religions. Temples in Hinduism serve as a central hub for various societal functions, encompassing aspects such as education, justice, worship, and the presence of divine entities.
