Going from "hey that's avrams ocg text" to "wait that's an effect monster... That too... Somethings is wrong with this mystical elf... Wait, where is avram?" was amazing, i applaud the bit and the commitment
I thought that was weird too but then I remembered there was a game where a lot of effect monsters were just normal ones and you had to unlock their effects and I assumed it was their text
i don't think cross duel gave them flavor text tho AUHEUAHEUH but i could be misremembering

You don't even necessarily have to go that recent for effect monsters with normal monster treatment; think back to the older game boy games.

You see the joke is funny because if he can see himself being destroyed by battle in the Future, he is avoiding being attacked, so we basically doing him a favour

I was fully expecting Mekk-Knight Avram. I was not disappointed. The best part about his flavor text is that the original Japanese text is this prophecy about Avram being the the chosen one and the heroic sacrifice of another card, Mekk-Knight Blue Sky, in order to give Avram his power (that’s what his armor and swords are). And then the TCG flavor text is that

They should've checked him out before he became a Mekk-Night, now they face the consequences.
That's actually really cool. And despite what the community thinks, i like how TCG has "check this out" as a flavour text, compared to OCG it doesn't show foreshadow his fate, but instead just shows his fascination of his new found powers.

I feel like it's worth mentioning that Soitsu is part of a series with 3 other cards: Koitsu, Aitsu and Doitsu.
Their names in Japanese mean "This guy", "That guy", "The other guy" and "Which guy?".
And before anyone tries to correct me, I am aware of the nuance lost when translating kore sore are into this and that, but I do not feel like that context is important enough to be worth bloating up the comment.
You forgot Doitsu, the guy that pairs with Soitsu.

The best part about Mekk-Knight Avram and his flavor text is that, with the tiniest bit of luck, summoning him can be full combo in a dedicated Mekk-Knight deck. The player can literally summon a monster with no effect, say "Check THIS out!", and combo into a board that's actually fairly difficult to play around for a lot of decks.
This quiz style with a round of qliphort card text would be so funny.

This episode was insane, I love that they got to see the art of the cards first before guessing because some of the arts are hilariously good at confusing people.
Worth noting, Weevil does also call Joey by his last name a a lot. So the thought that it could've been a Weevil quote that Nico had is totally valid!

I'm so glad this observation was made, the World Legacy lore (which Mekk-Knight Avram is a part of) is 100% the Yu-Gi-Oh version of Xenoblade (not at all a bad thing - they were the two main inspirations for my entire D&D campaign).

Swordstalker was amongst my favorite cards when the trading cards started as it was one that I owned (also what boy doesn't imagine himself as a buff swordsman) but hearing the joke comparison they made makes me literally lmao out of my chair, this! made my day thank you. I always enjoy watching you guys have fun sassy banter but also can say to each other "but that idea is so dumb to me I don't get it" not all friends can handle that.
new idea for YGO guesses, archtype questions
few ways to do it, the one I will suggest is give a few cards, say a bit of a lore moment and sneak a card of the archtype that is from a bit latter and have them try to guess the odd one out
I love how the third guess is color coordinated to everyone's box in some way.

@@MitchFromFBS Mekk Knight Avram is actually the example. He had 4 retrains from a normal > link > normal > effect > link. His archetype and the lore around it (which spans like 7 different archetypes) would be interesting. But also a retrain quiz would be interesting.

Really fun video. I liked mixing it up for the questions on this one. Would love to see the HERO/DinoMist/Fluffal archetypes appear in a video. Some of the names get ridiculous and Yugioh is so out there that it's hard to grasp whatever real, even as somrone who's played a decent bit.
If this gets a part 2, You have to include Wattail Dragons flavor text. It's my favorite in the whole game.

Some other real cards I want to see featured if you ever go back to the name quizzes are Oops and Dr Frankenderp. The latter especially because of the "they would never have a card called 'Doofus'" in one of the videos.

18:51 - For those who don't know, this is from a Konami Shoot-'em-up game from Japan. The card text references the fact that it becomes much stronger when combined with another unique card.
22:03 - Because of how wrong every literally every given answer clearly is, he's technically one of the most correct for not choosing any of them. (25:43 - Not gonna lie, didn't know that, but if I'd been part of that quiz I would've picked Avram too since I knew none of the 4 given were right.)

god imagine if the final one since he disregarded all them being effect monsters and or text shouldve been all the Avram forms like it couldve been Aruam The World Chalice Blade Master, Mekk Knight Crusadia Arvamax, Mekk Knight Avram, and Crusadia Maximus
Another type of yugioh Quiz, you can show a picture and have people pic what type it should be. Hungry Burger, Monster Egg are two examples of the harder questions. but you could go with easier ones like mammoth graveyard. is it a dinosaur, rock, zombie, or spirit type.
HUGE missed opportunity to explain the texts and lore, specially on the Gagagigo row
Idea for a next video, show the guys characters from the shows and 4 archetypes names and make them guess what deck they play based only on their appareance.
And yes, make one of the rounds involve the Tyler Twins
