Long things short, bleed is a anklebiter thing, you group up with few other bleed/poison creatures and target a creature like its a souls boss, then it works.
There is few reason bleed suck 1. Don't work on Small Target as they Outrun you and hide away before bleed could even do a tick of damage 2. Ineffective on Supposed Viable Target as Many Large Creature are Usually Resisted/Immune to Bleed or wield too much strength that good bleeder can't effectively debuffed it 3. The way it do damage is diffrent Poison and Burn deal damage calculate by %HP but Bleed add a so little number into it and are not % Base damage which make it pretty suck even if you can deal high stack of bleeds, it's still unlikely to do anything Conclusion : Bleed act as a support ability where you only use it because of the instant Passive HP Regen Cut and usually pair it up with poison or burn, Bleeds alone are dogshit and it need to be use in combo
Normally with bleed I force the other ro keep moving, (so medium +) so they can't heal and will rise their bleed stack otherthan that its pretty useless on it's own

Cos also has been pumping out a lot of creatures that are completely immune to bleed. Kavo, Golga, and Taka are all completely bleed immune.
For short:
Bleed is only NOT for dealing dmg but mainly there for stopping health regen.

I highly doubt that the creatures of CoS have as much blood in their body that is shown leaking on the floor when they take dmg
I don't see why people think that burn is better than bleed... Like disabling health regen is so useful
Burn literally disables health regen if you get 10 stacks and getting 10 stacks isnt too hard
