Floyd bet on himself when he dropped out of high school to focus on boxing and it paid off. Fought his entire career at his walking around weight and beat everyone in front of him. Never failed a drug test, never missed weight, never even got knocked down. Can’t deny his greatness in the ring.

Mayweather would not be able to fight in the 1980s using that style. Imagine him against the 6 foot one Tommy Hearns shooting right hands and Sugar Ray Leonard was also taller than him and Roberto Duran, who had all the tricks in the world and of course, don’t forget about the vicious Marvin Hagler, who could fight south paw or just regular orthodox style. This is what's wrong with boxing. I mean from Floyd's perspective, being the much more experienced fighter, shouldn't be looking to fight young guys, but from the young guy's perspective, you should always take a fight if a legend offers you it. Canelo imo, got better after losing to Floyd, it was a huge learning experience for him, & yall see how Canelo tries to emulate Floyd's defense now ever since they fought. That Floyd fight made Canelo better.

Hearns was 22 in his 1st fight with 25 year old Leonard. De la Hoya was 23 when he beat 34 year old Julio Chavez Sr. If you started boxing around 8 years old like most of these guys, 20 is the beginning your prime. One of the biggest fights back then was Leonard age 23 vs Benitez age 21 & Benitez was the champ in that fight. Stop all this BS about 23 years old Canelo being too young & inexperienced as a 44-0 world champion. 36 is an old man in boxing terms. Was Floyd supposed to fight him when he was 40? Floyd was older & smaller than most of those guys. he fought at 147 & 154 lbs. People act like Floyd was 25 years old his entire 20 year career. I'd bet that Floyd has more Hall of Fame fighters on his resume than any other boxer.has.

The way people talk so bad about this guy I thought he was just gonna bash all these guys this entire interview 💀😂 Cus besides the fight promos I never really seen him in interviews or just normally interacting with people.. Dude humble af. He had given credit to everyone asked about so far 🤷‍♂️

Floyd waited for Paquiao to drop off before taking the fight with him. Paquiao was active and FMJ "retired" to avoid that fight until he was ready (or Paquiao was washed up). That's an unofficial "L" to me

Canelo was 23 and half when he fought MW. That’s same age Leonard as when he fought Hearns in first fight

Oscar is supper articulate and insightful when he is "healthy." Lots of natural intelligence at display.
