- My friends and I went on vacation to Portland, Oregon where one of our listed things to do was to fish :D
We decided to fish at a local Hatchery Trout Farm.
It was such a nice day fishing and this was absolutely one of the easiest way to learn how to fish for trout.
I highly recommend stopping by here, for you family and friends, especially for first timers.
*Owner is supper nice, Gives out free rentals; rods, bait, buckets, nets, etc. All you pay is the fish you catch!

Nice video! And I don't agree with the people who feel the need to say "that's not fishing" or make other nasty comments. This is a great place to take kids or visitors who have never caught a fish - or who just don't get a chance to fish very often. I enjoy fishing the lakes in this area, and I meet all kinds of folks - some much more experienced than I am and some much less. But I sure don't see any reason to be a snob about fishing. Isn't it better to encourage people to get outdoors and spend time with family and friends? Very honestly, there have been times I've fished at freshly stocked lakes when it hasn't taken THAT much longer to pull in my limit than it would at the Rainbow Trout Farm. So thanks for the video. If it inspires folks to give fishing a try, that's a good thing.
Rodney- I was just at that trout farm last month on vacation with my family. I didn't see the monster trout pond until we were already done. They were monsters compared to the other ponds.
Michael Scott yeah its all the way in the back . beautiful site to see haha. I wanna go back here again
@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel bro I'm here to tell you to go back
Like always, I enjoyed this video! Got to get me and my son a Trout when the season starts.
Yes buddy , can't wait too . I got a good trout vid saved for when the season starts : D
This looks like a great place that could teach me how to fish. I vlog about fishing in Oregon but never seem to catch anything! Enjoyed your video.
Im here in oregon, I can help you with teaching you how to properly fish! My 4yo, wife and I caught 10 today!
Beautiful Location and fun video to watch as always.
Thanks Jordan !
Nice fishing guys, always fun to take out newcomers.

I'll be there next month in Sandy. Taking a class in Welches and if I don't get one, will stop at the Rainbow trout farm to take some home to the kids...
Pat Shozo should be fun for the kids !
That is a big monster trout thanks for the video

Took my daughters there for their first fishing adventure--great fun, but it gets expensive quickly when the kids discover the lunker pond!
nice videos Rodney and nice fish
thanks peter!
Nice my frend
thank you buddy !
paradise
Great video friend
Thank youuuu! I want to go back there so bad
I always wanted to fish out of that pond... but couldn't afford it $$$. That trout farm is worth going to just for scenery tho. Liked and Subbed to support a fellow angler!
Do you guys know when is the best season to catch big ones?
Me and my wife enjoyed our trip there really nice people own the farm
a great place kids ;)
Rodney - Wonder how many lbs an 18inch trout weigh... Do they let you clean and filler the fish? I would fish the biggies with 2 lbs test for a thrill... If line broke then I can keeo fishing... Wish there is one located here in Southern CA
Nice video I'm 3 hours from there definitely going
Thats awesome ! I mainly using 1/32 oz mini jigs , they were smashing it alllll day. Let me know how it goes
I just barely picked up some trout magnets for the first time. 1/64 pz
Hell yeah will do
@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel so you cant throw the fish back in ?
@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel no catch and release?
I went there!
great Vid Bro...
Thanks again Johnny!
Nice how much you ended up paying??
Have you fished mammoth lake before? I'm excited to go!
I want to , someday I will hehe
I have been to that hatchery long time ago, but didn't fish there. It is fun to take kids or fishing novices to trout farm. I know there is one on Mt. Baldy in SoCal. I haven't been there, but the landscape may not be that nice as Oregon.
Nice! it was very pretty up there. Definitely for novice fishermen. That trip I brought my friends , and they had a blast. I want to visit Mt baldy, I heard reviews from there
Per fish, that seems insanely expensive. $18 for a large fish?? That's almost the cost of a year-long fishing license here in Maryland. But if all of the equipment is provided to you for free - rods, line, hook, bait, bucket, ice, etc etc - $60 for a fun little trip with 4 friends sounds like a pretty good deal.
Haha yes , it is expensive. however great deal to bring newbies : D
Hey that place sounds so fun I live here in Oregon what is that place called
Nice tank of a fish!! U should try river fishing and show us your set up for that.
Thanks yo!! River fishing for trout is one of my bucket list. For sure I will show a setup for that when i do :)
+Rodney Marquez Fishing Channel awesome! Can't wait for that to come up.
You gotta do a catch clean and cook Rodney
I live there and fished in that exact spot
i just went here and caught 3, the smallest was 21"... awesome day
So what was your total cost for them lunkers?
It said no throw backs but we did because we caught a fish the second we dipped our worm in. It’s a beautiful property. The one huge bummer out of all this is was the fish tasted awful. The meat tasted like pond scum. We pulled our fish out of the big fish pond like you guys.
Hope to move to Oregon soon
that would be sick, super green there
I've caught a 24 incher at the big bunker pond
oh yeee! I love that place so awesome there
dude go to Mount Baldy there's a trout pond up there. It's not as big as that place but they have good trout there too. same rules apply. plus LA county is closer to you than Oregon is.... lol
It is to easy, my dad and I went there and no one was catching anything but right when I dropped my line in I got a big one 😂
4:00 she's a natural 👍
thats my wife :D
go more east to Bonneville Damn and buy the pellet's for 25c...
mongyaj yeah I been there , so awesome to feed then
Did she get all the bones out of it too? When she was cleaning it?
Na, it was only the guts
i would keep the little ones alive &put them in one of my local ponds/lakes since that's messed up to eat six inch trout lol
haha yeah 6 inch trout is way to small.
+Rodney Marquez ya
They would not survive in local ponds.. they like really clean water. Well at least they would not fetch eggs
well i ment like foster & not all ponds are muddy
Not legal in Oregon.
I would use spinners in the wild. At trout farms the fish will strike at almost anything. In the wild thy go more for spinners, spoons, and baits.
DaebakMonkey It seems true according to my own experience, too. I once tried crappie jig and trout magnets for wild brown at Kings River, I saw them coming to check my jigs, then turned away. After I changed to Panther Martin, I started to land fish.
Oh for sure, they were biting a lot of things that day. I love using a 1/16 oz kastmaster. they work well as well
Greg Sheu Yeah. My favorites are PMs, Rooster Tails, and uncle bud's.
DaebakMonkey yes they do !
Ok then I might try Dixon for trout and also the bluegill when on beds so I won't get skunked for the day.
Good luck ! let me know how you do
I wouldn't be so happy catching these big fish if I was paying that much money lol
Did you use their Rods ???
You can. however my wife and I brought our own
Are there still trout in all SoCal lakes?
They are all deep , as I heard recently . The water is too warm to fish from shore . try lake cuyamaca
Hey man I live next to Portland
Fun stuff.... you guys hold those rods like it hurts you.....
target fishing all day👊👍🐟
haha you know it!! they were very strict on catch and keep , so I had to be very selective with the bite hahah
Where is things in Portland?
you should go to lake cuyumaca in socal they stock trout all year
Yes I plan to !
Make sure to make video when you go
I will be there in 2 weeks
Samiar Grady how was it ?!
I didn't have time to go so sad
I wanna fish there so bad
a must place to fish if you're in the area. It's a hatchery pond so you're 99%chance of catching
Could you give me the address to that place want to get my friends and family into fishing like me
Hey vince, the link is in the description, check the yelp review :D
“… that will be *Trouts…”*
The location is, just east of Sandy on HWY 26 at the bottom of the hill. Then turn left follow the road signs, and be sure to bring a CREDIT CARD, because you can't hold enough money in your wallet to pay the bill. LOL.. Kinda TRUE Hahahaha.
That’s such a bad drive
What's the name of that farm you went
Rainbow Trout Farm.
Fuck that great video bro but I live in Portland and I’ll never paid $18 for a 20 inch fish LOL good video though and like you said good place to learn
I subscribed And gave you a thumbs up
y u no 1080 30
what is the name of that place?
Rainbow Trout Farm, info in the description
what knot do you use?
Palomar knot
And 2 pound test right??
When you use your own stuff in sd
Yes 2 lb izorline
+Rodney Marquez okay thanks for the info you should hmu and we should go to lake Jennings
Ware in Portland OR?
The directions are in the description
Its free to fish..... but you have to pay for the fish LOL
what bait did you use
El papi111 used a 1/32 mini jig , crappie jig. you can also use for trout
looks way too fun. just expensive lol
Yeah it was , worth it if you're taking the fam
If you are just going fishing for a day a year then it is cheaper than getting a license and all the gear. No license required at pay-to-fish trout farms.
Hmm....
That guy Dave is pretty hot, he catches perfectly normal sized fish
That's what I'm talking about it !
Cool! Definitely not SoCal fishing!
hahah yeah
*sandy oregon
60$ bucks my guess 200$
bro make sure u net your trout instead of dragging them on the ground unless u are keeping them
Yup we kept all of them that were dragged. This was a pay lake. So no releasing these guys
Beautiful location, but kinda takes the fun away! you're almost guaranteed to catch a fish. You might as well go to the store, by a dead one, and hook it on your line and cast it out. Probably cheaper that way!
Totally Agree! But I had to take my friends here that never fished before ha
that's not in portland
so there's an incentive to leave empty-handed basically, and you're penalized more for scoring a biggun/monster....e.g.yes! he pulled off my minijig! yes! he broke off my line! damn! i can feed my extended family with this 18 incher now that my wallet is empty...
Haha yeah , it's a very expensive way of fishing. however a fun one if you're taking people new :D
52560 E. Sylvan Dr.
- Sandy, OR 9705
nice
Well I guess they haven't fished
Seems to easy and kill them straight away it's like us out of breath then going under water
I would just make sure no ones looking and use a barbless hook and reel all the way up to the tip and jiggle lol
Hahah I feel ya , so tempted to do that too
That sucks thought this was a earned fish
I used to go with my grandparents but it's very expensive
yeah very haha . still a lot of fun
dumb, kinda defeats the purpose of fishing.
its a family oriented place. I wanted to check it out with my friends who never fish
i gave this a thumbs down halfway through then when i saw the end i changed it to a thumbs up
sorry that you didn't like the intro . and thanks for thumbing up !
Not tryin to hate, but this ain't fishin.
Think of it more like "lets get some fresh fish for dinner, but you kinda gotta work for it." This might be my backup plan if I can't catch anything out in the wild.
But would you not go here too if you could?
@@benbasoco7436 No, I wouldn´t go....
duude you have nice videos but thats not a real trout fishing the real wild trout fishing is in the tiny rivers where u have to find the bait in the water or under rocks try it some day
Thanks! haha yes I have tried wild trout fishing in the sierras before. Nothing beats fishing up there :D
I never really wanted to film myself fishing up there because its just too peaceful to share :)
You should stop making trout fishing videos. You couldn't catch a real trout if your life depended on it.
Haha you funny. Caught a lot of wild trout over the pass 4-5 summers.
