James Wan should be given a chance. I’d love to see him tap into his horror side and work with Godzilla. I think a return to those G14/Skull Island days would do the Monsterverse some good.
I get they’ve gone wacky, but putting in Aliens and crossovers with Pacific Rim would take me out of it.

I do get the appeal of the 2014 tone but with more monster action n not cutting away but honestly I love what we have now it's fun thats what it's supposed to be
A new direction is never a bad thing, I say bring it on, but also make the story better while still being cool AF.
7:40-7:50 Pacific Rim needs to be revived before they even think about making a crossover with the Monsterverse. The last film, Pacific Rim: Uprising sucked and pretty much sent the franchise to the grave. They did that Pacific Rim: The Black animated series but it wasn’t very memorable. I will love to see Guillermo del Toro return and direct a new film but I don’t think he’s even interested in coming back.
Toho isn't bringing Yamazaki back to do a follow up to Minus One, maybe Legendary should have a conversation with him.

Can we give other monsters a chance at getting their own solo films? I get Godzilla and Kong are the most popular kids on the block and grab people's attention but the MonsterVerse is a Cinematic Universe, right?
I'm very glad because I'm not a huge fan of the tone in the last two movies. Godzilla vs. Kong was okay, but Godzilla x Kong was too silly. Not saying I hated it or anything, but if the franchise keeps that tone, I'm going to lose interest in it. I'd like to see something that is tonally more in the direction of the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters TV series, which was SO much better than these last two movies.

i Love what ADAM WINGARD was doing with the MONSTERVERSE Films but at the same time i'm totally ok with him wanting to take on other Movie Projects like the Live-Action THUNDERCATS Movie that he's developing,,,but what ADAM WINGARD was doing with his MONSTERVERSE Films was his way of honoring the GODZILLA MILLINEUM Era Films Like GODZILLA 2000 & GODZILLA FINAL WARS because those Movies are definitely Over The Top & so much damn Fun 😃🤘😃🤘
Pacific rim crossover was one do the original plans back when the monsterverse was announced. It would have to be rebooted now for it to work and actually what’s the point. Keep moving forward with the monsterverse, bring in the aliens

Dave Callaham did the story for the 2014 Godzilla so it could be. Or at least more Godzilla focused.
The Jaegers and kaiju in Pacific Rim are only about a third the size of the Titans. There would be no challenge, there. The Monsterverse would win in less than 1/2 an hour. They'd need an in-universe reason for the sizes from one of the franchises to scale up or down for the fights to make sense.

Space Godzilla or Destroyah. Make the next one more of a Godzilla Origins movie with a more serious tone.
Wouldn't mind Destoroyah for the next one, but I'd like to see them dig into real life mythology for the one after next maybe. I personally have been thinking about Jörmungandr aka The World Serpent from Norse mythology. As the harbinger of Ragnarök in said mythology, that would facilitate the proper Titan team-up of Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, Rodan, Shimo, and the rest of them remaining.
Definitely possible with that giant bridge skeleton which shows that Titans can get even bigger than Godzilla and Kong.
Destroyah should be built for the final film.
Whatever the title of the 3rd movie is, I hope it's something like Godzilla + Kong!

Rob is 100% right with the aliens. I prefer aliens over the Pacific Rim crossover as I prefer stuff coming from Outer space then from under the sea. They could finish the franchise by merging with Pacific Rim.
Idk about the Pacific Rim crossover, and I love Pacific Rim. Aliens coming down and pretending to make peace with Earth, but in actuality, they're planning on hijacking their whole kaiju kingdom, and possibly introducing a new alien kaiju, and Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, etc. have to stop them seems so exciting omg. I would love that. And as ridiculous as it sounds, go back to the gritty, dark vibe. Destroy All Monsters/Invasion of Astro Monster mixed with Godzilla 2014.
Right now Godzilla X Kong is my second favoret film of 2024 so i have very high expectations for the sequel.I am worried about a new director taking over the project but even if Wingard stayed & directed the film it doesn't mean that i would be getting the movie that i am hoping for.
Adam Wingard made his mark, dropped two successful films and will always be the one to bring the two legends together. This a W move imo.. doesn’t seem like a hostile split either.

I'm glad Adam Wingard is off the next Godzilla movie but can we please get back to the more grounded Godzilla that was promised in 2014 not go more off the rails. I definitely prefer those takes on Godzilla. Leave Pacific Rim far away from the Monsterverse. Toho has many great Kaiju to pull from.
Pacific Rim is pretty much in a dormant state anyway. The last film with John Boyega tanked and sent the franchise to the trash. The only thing Pacific Rim did after that was that animated Netflix series which was alright but not great.
